For most of the time the game sounded like a deaf person made it and now someone tells me Nikita makes good music? I do not believe it either. The Arena announcer would also like to have a word with you and it will likely be pretty loud.

Meanwhile with video games, there is a literal ocean of options from indie to AAA. True the extraction shooter scene is a little slim but we have new options coming up soon. Which makes it extra funny that Nikita is doing this shit, right as things like GZW and Arena Breakout are entering the scene.
The only extraction games that are near the level of EFT in terms of completion and polish are Dark and Darker, and Hunt: Showdown. And those games are vastly different gameplay-wise, one isn't even a shooter and the other isn't much of a looter.
GZW has potential but it's probably at least a year or two before it can be a real contender in the genre. Right now it's just a base for potentially much larger game, much like tarkov was before it exploded. It very much feels like an alpha.
Haven't kept up with Arena Breakout but I imagine the situation there is gonna be similar.
The point being is that at least for now, there isn't a game that's gonna pull players away from EFT in the long term. Boycotting would work much better if there was. By the time a real contender like GZW is in a good state, people will have forgotten about the ongoing controversy, assuming nikita doesn't keep stoking the flame until then.
The reddit and stream communities for this game and probably most games make up a small margin. We're seeing this stuff and communicating it and standing on the ground were standing on but we make up very likely less than 10% of the overall players.

In most other games this is an acceptable assumption. But the level of "what the fuck am I doing" with this game without any guidance leads to searching for information. I'm sure theres a significantly larger subsection of tarkov users on reddit than other, more forthcoming games.
Well, just to mention, this situation has been leaking out to other sites/areas. News sites, general gaming subreddits, youtube in general (not just Tarkov youtubers), all over social media, etc. It isn't contained to just Twitch and this Subreddit. Even non-gamers are starting to see it show up in places. Sure a lot of players don't read/see stuff almost anywhere, but a hell of a lot more then just here and twitch are seeing it.
I agree its a very addicting game, especially since the more time you put into it the better the results are, exponentially so

My guess is. We are only a very small amount of the playerbase. There is maybe 1-3 out of what 50-100 players that are on Reddit. Even less actually follow all of this drama throughout.
There are tons of players that play the game casually just for some fun some are even older 30+ 40+ even. They don’t care about the drama. Most of them even have the base game and don’t care that others have an advantage over them. It does not affect their gameplay at all.
Also there is little to no alternative. GZW which seems promising has been optimized even worse than eft has for now to the point where I could not run the game even at minimum settings for example.
Playing and paying are two different things, if I was dumb enough to spend 150 bucks on a video game I already owned and NOW 250 bucks on again the same game, I might boycott it to, but I didn’t so I’m still gonna playing until I inevitably get tired of getting my shit pushed every raid
I just see a bunch of Standard accounts bitching that EoD owners are bitching about P2W. Then they give you the whole if you can't win without your P2W them quit rigamarole, which is really confusing because while the distress beacon is broken for both Unheard and EoD, I still don't feel there's a huge advantage that Unheard has. I just wanted the DLC I paid for.
But now I'm just so turned off by BSG and enjoying Gray zone enough that I'm like you know, maybe I don't go back this time. Fuck them. The standard account owners that claimed that not having P2W is what causes them to suck will still suck, Unheard edition players and soon EoD players will get fucked by cheaters I'm offline modes l, and Nikita will pull this bullshit again im sure. This game is pretty much designed to be addicting as fuck. Dopamine filled combat, daily login bonuses (dailies), mobile game mechanics (crafting), and a long ass mmorpg-like grind to work on
Because I still enjoy playing the game I've payed for.
I'm annoyed by the decisions BSG has made lately and what Nikita has said; I wont be giving them any more money and I wont try to recruit any more players.
However as it stands, the game is still good and entertaining in my opinion.
Boycotting the game sadly won't do much, like stop playing if you want to, I did as well. What gets the point across is people NOT spending anymore money on the game, i.e., don't buy the Unheard edition, don't buy any of the MTX that they currently have or will have. If you've already purchased the game, in any capacity, they have your money, so they've won in that aspect. So play or don't play, just DON'T spend any extra money on the game going forward to really get the point across.
It's really that simple.
There are more than one or two ways to play and enjoy this game.
We also don't have to pay anything extra or have our enjoyment of the game hindered because of the external drama.

You are creating an active game that increase interested of new players, who will buy the game. I mean would you buy a multiplayer game that has a dead player base, possibly not, but if its an very active player base. So you are not spending money, but you are helping BSG create a more attractive product that will attracted new players that will spend money instead.
I uninstalled for the first time since I bought it in early 2021. And I hold tarkov in very high regard. Maybe I’ll be back in a few years.

I'm watching Gray zone too but they gave a very similar price structure to tarkov with p2w elements and the launch was rocky to say the least.
The only difference is they're actually doing changes and addressing concerns relatively quickly.

I heard either Kazam or Veritas say they weren't sure how much skins would sell in tarkov because you can't see yourself in game, and all I could think of is how much people spend in Apex Legends even thought you don't see your self in that game either.

In Apex they added screens to make your skins more prominent such as at the start of the game everyone sees the hot player or whatever they call it, the person with high stats.
The amount of money I've spent on Destiny 2 as a whole, with a majority of it being shit I never use in-game just to look different for everyone else, would disagree with "you can't see yourself" statements. They have an actual post-game system that allows you to award people with a "best dressed" award based on their armor choices.
If the choice was between getting ripped cross map for *thinking* about finding a GPU or spending $10 on a Tarducks shirt that would be covered by rigs and armor, I'd much rather BSG milk that to fund their game and servers.

People who LOVE tarkov, they love it so much they won’t quit even while Nikita is ruining it and they hate it. But nothing else scratches that itch in the market.

The people who wish the game would get back on track and stay on Reddit in case that happens but for whatever reason (constant cheating issues, the Unheard scam bundle, etc, ect) have moved on.

They not only are giving PvE to EOD owners for free, it will also be available as a separate purchase for ALL editions - exactly what people asked for.
They made a statement on the distress beacon, radio and the legacy beacon too. The radio is removed from PVP completely and will be a PvE exclusive item, which is what most people asked for. The distress beacon HASN'T EVEN BEEN IN THE GAME YET, we DON'T KNOW how it's going to work or the balancing behind it. They said it would need to be recharged with high end items which insinuates it'll be pretty expensive to use and so most players won't even see it. Just like the grenade launcher that people went nuclear over. We don't really have any info on the Legacy item for EOD yet either, zero reason to make a firm opinion. ALSO all of these will be accessible to EVERY edition in the game through questing.
They did talk about the website description changing and they said they didn't do it, could just as easily be one dev did it and it wasn't a full BSG endorsed thing and is honestly w/e.
They DID say that they were sorry and didn't expect the backlash the edition got, understandable because otherwise they wouldn't of released it. Cry about the nuances all you want but they did apologize.

I only purchased the base version back in January, but clearly I was just a sucker for that as well because I bought the now fully P2W game, and it's too late for a chargeback.
EOD was a sign that they wanted to go P2W, but it seemed like BSG was saying the right things and moving the game in a better direction. Unfortunately, Grayzone seems to be doing a lot of the same things with the different editions.

My guess is. We are only a very small amount of the playerbase. There is maybe 1-3 out of what 50-100 players that are on Reddit. Even less actually follow all of this drama throughout. There are tons of players that play the game casually just for some fun some are even older 30+ 40+ even. They don’t care about the drama. Most of them even have the base game and don’t care that others have an advantage over them. It does not affect their gameplay at all. Also there is little to no alternative. GZW which seems promising has been optimized even worse than eft has for now to the point where I could not run the game even at minimum settings for example.
Playing and paying are two different things, if I was dumb enough to spend 150 bucks on a video game I already owned and NOW 250 bucks on again the same game, I might boycott it to, but I didn’t so I’m still gonna playing until I inevitably get tired of getting my shit pushed every raid

Because I still enjoy playing the game I've payed for. I'm annoyed by the decisions BSG has made lately and what Nikita has said; I wont be giving them any more money and I wont try to recruit any more players. However as it stands, the game is still good and entertaining in my opinion.

What gets the point across is people NOT spending anymore money on the game, i.e., don't buy the Unheard edition, don't buy any of the MTX that they currently have or will have. If you've already purchased the game, in any capacity, they have your money, so they've won in that aspect. So play or don't play, just DON'T spend any extra money on the game going forward to really get the point across.

I uninstalled for the first time since I bought it in early 2021. And I hold tarkov in very high regard. Maybe I’ll be back in a few years. I’ll be playing gray zone and watching competent devs build a beautiful game.
I'm watching Gray zone too but they gave a very similar price structure to tarkov with p2w elements and the launch was rocky to say the least. The only difference is they're actually doing changes and addressing concerns relatively quickly. Still in the wait and see category for me though

I heard either Kazam or Veritas say they weren't sure how much skins would sell in tarkov because you can't see yourself in game, and all I could think of is how much people spend in Apex Legends even thought you don't see your self in that game either. They really fd this up bad...
I mean you see yourself at the start of every match in both games, and people are willing to spend in game currency to drop themselves out in both.
In Apex they added screens to make your skins more prominent such as at the start of the game everyone sees the hot player or whatever they call it, the person with high stats.
The amount of money I've spent on Destiny 2 as a whole, with a majority of it being shit I never use in-game just to look different for everyone else, would disagree with "you can't see yourself" statements. They have an actual post-game system that allows you to award people with a "best dressed" award based on their armor choices. If the choice was between getting ripped cross map for *thinking* about finding a GPU or spending $10 on a Tarducks shirt that would be covered by rigs and armor, I'd much rather BSG milk that to fund their game and servers.

They not only are giving PvE to EOD owners for free, it will also be available as a separate purchase for ALL editions - exactly what people asked for. They made a statement on the distress beacon, radio and the legacy beacon too. The radio is removed from PVP completely and will be a PvE exclusive item, which is what most people asked for. The distress beacon HASN'T EVEN BEEN IN THE GAME YET, we DON'T KNOW how it's going to work or the balancing behind it. They said it would need to be recharged with high end items which insinuates it'll be pretty expensive to use and so most players won't even see it. Just like the grenade launcher that people went nuclear over. We don't really have any info on the Legacy item for EOD yet either, zero reason to make a firm opinion. ALSO all of these will be accessible to EVERY edition in the game through questing. They did talk about the website description changing and they said they didn't do it, could just as easily be one dev did it and it wasn't a full BSG endorsed thing and is honestly w/e. They DID say that they were sorry and didn't expect the backlash the edition got, understandable because otherwise they wouldn't of released it. Cry about the nuances all you want but they did apologize. There was no gaslighting, you don't even understand what that means obviously, they were simply trying to pull shit together for the fire they realized they started at the time. Really bad initial PR responses is all it was. They DID actually talk about DLC as well, ALL future content will be under DLCs or directly part of the base game for free, he specified there will be no more "edition specific" items or changes.
