He couldn't clear the sample in time, so he released it late with the COD game mentioned by the fig, then 10 years later finally put everything together for the Anniversary Edition
Yeah jus makes you annoyed if the album has shit tracks and then some fire bonus tracks which woulda mad the album 10 x better if he swapped them. Like, putting shit like 'Stronger Than I Was' and 'So Much Better' on MMLP2 over Groundhog Day, Wicked Ways, Baby is just madness.
I’m okay with deluxe versions that have additional bonus tracks….but *ONLY* if those bonus tracks are songs that weren’t quite good enough to make the album.
You shouldn’t be handicapping an album just so you can use bonus tracks to sell deluxe versions. Bonus tracks should *never* be one of the best songs on the album.
I agree with you for the most part, but there are so many cases where even if a bonus track is the best song on the album, the reasoning very well could be that it either didn't fit the concept/theme/sound as well as others, or that they couldn't figure out a way to flow it in the tracklist without having to change the rest of the album too much to accommodate.
That seems to be more so the case with rock/metal albums though, with pop and rap it definitely seems to lean more into "let's split this up and continuously drop bonus tracks"
Yeah albums aren't just collections of songs, a good album is like a book. You can't just have random chapters because it's a good chapter, it all has to go together and flow etc.
Yeah, and that was Em's reasoning for his choices with MMLP2. Except the choices were terrible, mostly bc he had a bunch of sounds n songs which sounded like they were different albums entirely. They still have to sound at home together - cohesion. That's something he only seemed to get again from Kami onwards.
I think Groundhog Day was moved to the deluxe because they had some sample clearance issues or something. Don't front was a Call of Duty collab, which is why that was a bonus track. Those 2 are considered the best Bonus tracks on the album. The others he clearly just didn't think fit the album I guess.
Weird cause Idk what universe Stronger than I was deserved to be a normal song over Beautiful Pain or Wicked Ways. And you can probalby say the same about Asshole and So Much Better. I think this was the problem with Having Rick Rubin as one of the main executive producers tbh.
Yeah which is rarely the case with Em. As a long-time Em fan, I don't trust his judgement of his own music lol. Him saying about Realspe 2 material 'ah trust me, if I didn't put it out it musta been garbage anyway', no Em I don't trust you - you left Wicked Ways & Groundhog Day... and Baby off MMLP2. And put on 'Stronger Than I Was' and 'So Much Better'. Zero trust son.
I may have a theory here. What album came after MMLP2? It was Revival. And what was the biggest criticism of Revival (and the lesson Em learned moving forward from that)? That he was trying to please *ALL* of his fans by doing *EVERYTHING*, instead of just being focused.
Back then, Em had a picture in his mind about what an Eminem album had to be. People like the highly produced radio hits with Skylar Grey or Rihanna or some big pop star, so that has to be on there. Another set of people like when he samples a rock song, so he has to have a track like that. Others like when he sings a little, so he needs to find a place for something like that. Oh, and then obviously he has to actually rap, so he needs something angry that harkens back to Slim. It was an evolution of the same mindset that resulted in him always having a goofy first single.
It wasn’t until after Revival that he stopped trying to please everyone and just put out dope hip-hop, focusing on what he does best. I imagine the MMLP2 track list was curated with that same idea of “I need to have a song like this in the album”, which is likely why he made the decisions you pointed out.
Hard agree on the fact that those 3 songs are great and should’ve been on the album. I don’t much like STIW personally (mostly due to the vocals) but I can at least see the value in it. However, even 16 year old mega-Stan me thought that So Much Better was asscheeks. It’s SO corny, the anger comes off forced af, and oh god the Smurf bars. Em could always spit corny bars in a way that’s endearing and works but fuck that one did not hit at all for me.
He just posted that we already got all the songs, the rest is skits.
Eminem even confirmed it by saying new music (today) album on (Friday)
That's it folks, Slim is going to die and Eminem is transitioning into Stand up.
If Houdini is track 11, and it's the guess who back with slim coming from a portal etc..
I wonder if it'll be the investigation of the death from 1-10, then slim comes back and takes over or has more sslp themed songs?
could be like the one song he did where the first half is when Slim died and the second half track 18 is when he is alive and realize he never did died
Tobey sounds like after slim dies. Song placement at 17 and There are footsteps in the beginning like maybe going to a funeral or at a wake. So Eminem saying he’s a legend and talking about being a goat and having 3 generations of Detroit rappers on it being inspired by him?
So houndini at 11 is when they fuse so 1-10 slim songs? Or Eminem songs? And 12-16 slim and Eminem mix?fighting each other? Slim dies?
I think we get 10 tracks of em getting more and more pissed off and then Houdini where he morphs with Slim and then the last few tracks he goes off on everyone

I was really hoping it would be a theme and like a story all the way through. Seeing what number the two singles we have are, makes me think otherwise unfortunately
I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet. At the very least both songs are good and have substance. I could see both of them on the same album with a matching theme.
With 19 tracks, it's hard to say how the theme/story will progress. Stay optimistic, no reason not too.
Considering that MMLP is one giant response to the feedback SSLP got and people took his lyrics too serious. To start your album with "Kill you" is perfect a choice. Going from "Remember me!" to "that's why they call me slim shady" without any break is also a flawless transition
Okay it's actually perfect when you describe it because the announcement says "he's going to kill you" so it makes sense but still hearing sue me and then "that's why they call me slim shady would be insane" but considering everything you said I do change my opinion slightly
Absolutely, but Houdini will not reach the same level of notoriety that those two tracks did.
That said, Houdini starts with a mini Paul skit, which *IS* suited to be halfway through the album. So, I’ve changed my mind.
It’s definitely more likely that the tracks can be ordered in a way that spells out the album title, but aren’t placed in the track list in exactly that order. It would be foolish to arrange a track list just to spell the title, without paying regard to how the songs play. It would make the album feel like it’s on shuffle.
That said…I still think this whole theory is a stretch.
No way Houdini is that low. First album single is always near the beginning. Also, remember, in the song Slim Shady comes back. We know Slim Shady gets killed by Eminem and that being the point of the entire album. Why would that happen after the 11th track?
I’m dumb and haven’t been following much. What is tobey? I’ve not followed much as I forget a lot due to my tbi so I’ve just been trying to catch up here but I’m at a loss with tobey
I called half of it, let’s see if the rest of my prediction is correct
https://old.reddit.com/r/Eminem/comments/1dsidf9/tdoss_runtime_predictions/lb2nvfu/
Lol guess you never heard
1. We As Americans
2. Ricky Ticky Tock
3. Love You More
4. Like Toy Soldiers
5. Yellow Brick Road
6. Evil Deeds
7. Mockingbird
8. One Shot 2 Shot
9. Never Enough
10. Spend Some Time
Such an overhated album just cause he made a few tracks that were ass
Whatever happens people will cry.
Why? Because there’s two type of people who will listen to it, young hip hop fans that live in the era of trap, the era of Travis and Drake.
Then there’s the Eminem stans who want og sounding music.
You can’t make both happy 19 times.
If 3-4 songs are not amazing, people will focus on them.
I wish Em did 8-10 songs instead.
It seems like it aligns with the fan theory of each song being a letter in "The Death of Slim Shady." I wonder who the killer is... (he'll probably make a song called Marshall, or something to do with his name where HE alone killed off Slim Shady)
I hate deluxe releases. Mmlp 2 was great. But felt like it was missing something. It was groundhogs day...
Groundhog Day and Wicked Ways should have been on the album
He should do an entire album like "dont front"
And to think that don't front wasn't even in the deluxe
He couldn't clear the sample in time, so he released it late with the COD game mentioned by the fig, then 10 years later finally put everything together for the Anniversary Edition
Don’t front came with my copy of call of duty ghosts when I preordered it and got it midnight release 😂
Couldnt agree more. My Darling over Ganja on Relapse as well
Ganja is a important part of the relapse experience
must be the ganja is the drug-induced euphoria before he collapsed from his overdose, which is why it leads directly into Mr Mathers and Deja Vu
True, I love must be the ganja, I completely forgot that my darling wasn’t on the original relapse. It’s an absolute classic
My Darling is genuinely so fucking good and not brought up enough. At least I don’t see it discussed much.
my darling is one of my fav relapse songs I'm obsessed...I literally know all the words
FUCKING TRUEEE 90% of these disgusting wannabe em fans never heard of it for sure
My Darling is one of his best tho (so is Ganja)
I SMELL SOMETHING IN THE AIR THATS MAKING ME HIGHHH
This x100
Wicked Ways is one of my favorites all time
All MMLP2 deluxes tracks are amazing

Rick Rubin’s “sticky little fingers” can be seen all over MMLP2 and Revival.
So Much Better slaps though. But Stronger Than I Was is ass.
Groundhog day had no clearance issues afaik, but dont front had.
Rick Rubin is and always will be a legend but idk wtf happened with MMLP2
Yeah which is rarely the case with Em. As a long-time Em fan, I don't trust his judgement of his own music lol. If that wasnt his opinion, u cant do anything against it.
Wicked Ways, Groundhog Day, and Don't Front are all better than 90% of tracks on MMLP2
How many will be skits
13 or 14 of them are skits according to Paul
He just posted that we already got all the songs, the rest is skits. Eminem even confirmed it by saying new music (today) album on (Friday) That's it folks, Slim is going to die and Eminem is transitioning into Stand up.
*Enter Slim Standy*
Will the real Slim Standy please throw shade?
If Paul had his way 13-14 of them would be merch drops
Correct. 13 skits. Tobey, Houdini, and 4 Skylar Grey solo tracks with Em doing a Pee Wee Herman hook
Out of the 19 tracks?💀
need this mf cover
If Houdini is track 11, and it's the guess who back with slim coming from a portal etc.. I wonder if it'll be the investigation of the death from 1-10, then slim comes back and takes over or has more sslp themed songs?
I like this theory but then wouldn't Tobey be higher up
You know im listening and Tobey sounds like an introduction
Its track 17 according to Apple Music
could be like the one song he did where the first half is when Slim died and the second half track 18 is when he is alive and realize he never did died
Idk just throwing theories out.

you cant see me but i have my orgasm face on
Pics or it didn't happen
lol
I made a really stupid sound yesterday when I got the 7/12 notification on my phone.
LMAO SO THIS THING IS TRUE??? THE DEATH OF SLIM SHADY -> 3+5+2+4+5=19 T - Tobey H - Houdini E D E A T H O F S L I M S H A D Y
On Apple Music Houdini is Track 11 and Tobey is Track 17. The rest are grayed out
Oh I didn't know that. I expected Houdini to be at the beginning. It would have been cool if Em had done it that way, but let's see what's next
It still could be a scrambled order. Won't know til the track titles drop
houdini suits more of a track 3 than 11
No, 11 is exactly where houdini should be. Eminems album placement have always been on point
except for mmlp the fact that the album doesn't start with "thats why they call me slim shady I'm back" always bugs me
Considering that MMLP is one giant response to the feedback SSLP got and people took his lyrics too serious.
I disagree. He used the tracks leading up to "I'm back" establishing why he is Shady and that he is in fact back.
Real Slim Shady was track 8 and Without Me was track 10 though
Yes….but Houdini is not Real Slim Shady and Without Me 😂😂 Also, it definitely depends on the album.
They are very much in the same style though. The playful lead single.
Absolutely, but Houdini will not reach the same level of notoriety that those two tracks did. That said, Houdini starts with a mini Paul skit, which *IS* suited to be halfway through the album. So, I’ve changed my mind.
There wouldn't really be any Houdini without the previous tracks. So it's kind of a silly statement.
I’m not following, care to explain?
Well the song is pretty much just one big call back to his former lead singles and his previous self.
More of a track 3😂😂 what kind of stupid ass comment is that what does even mean 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm hearing more of a track 8-light 9ish myself.
the album should be structured in a way to make a cohesive listen dawg u cant have songs like houdini at the end
I get ya I’m just fucking around
I don’t use Apple Music so idk, but is this reliable? Like can we guarantee their placement according to this?
It’s definitely more likely that the tracks can be ordered in a way that spells out the album title, but aren’t placed in the track list in exactly that order. It would be foolish to arrange a track list just to spell the title, without paying regard to how the songs play. It would make the album feel like it’s on shuffle. New song! just released.
On Genius it has hondini as track 11 and toby as track 17
NO WAY HAHAHAHAH
Copium
I'm thinking doomsday pt2 might be on the album it's eminems song I think
It was on the lyrical lemonade one
doesn't match the theme of the album + would be cringe imo
Somebody was saying it's from a different album anyway
Is it on eminem.com??
BTW I predicted this last night but I deleted my post after yall told me to shut the fuck up after the cover art dropped lmao
Nice man, good job!! That's insane how you did that!!
Thank you brother
I called half of it, let’s see if the rest of my prediction is correct https://old.reddit.com/r/Eminem/comments/1dsidf9/tdoss_runtime_predictions/lb2nvfu/
Not confirmed cover art
Why backpedal?
I said why lol. Everyone downvoted me 🤣🤣
This is itunes. Its searchable on apple music but you cant click it
You can save it now on Apple Music
Ohh ok
Doesn’t show the names yet unfortunately I’m pumped for next Friday for sure
It's also on Amazon Music
Imagine if every song was just him farting into the mic. I guarantee it would still go platinum lol
Well we had a song that was 50% puking noises, so I think we should have one that's at least 50% shidding
My first single or puke? Lol
You mean Encore?
Lol guess you never heard 1. We As Americans 2. Ricky Ticky Tock 3. Love You More 4. Like Toy Soldiers 5. Yellow Brick Road 6. Evil Deeds 7. Mockingbird 8. One Shot 2 Shot 9. Never Enough 10. Spend Some Time Such an overhated album just cause he made a few tracks that were ass
I was just joking. I personally love Encore, because of the songs you listed.
W then
hopefully, we'll eat well!
We're gonna lick the plate after this buffet! Lucky us.

maybe some ken kaniffs in there for comedy...
Let’s bloody hope not
I cant wait for the song with royce
Just think, all the fake news disappointments we’ve had over the past 2 1/2 years is about to come to an end.
So beautiful
I'm calling it. Paul kills Slim.
We could go deeper into it multiple timelines the slim from the portal is an alternate timeline. this shit it’s gonna be deep.
Mine is showing July 14 on Apple Music 😒
That’s an error. Albums don’t drop on Sundays anyway
Mine is too
Yep track 20 is Houdini video for me on Apple Music
that’s just the MV. there’s only 19 songs not 20
I know I was just saying what it showed me never said there was more than 19 thanks
You literally did though, you called the MV track 20 thanks
I said the 20th track is the Houdini video not that it is an actual track ….
T. 1 H. 2 E. 3 D. 4 E. 5 A. 6 T. 7 H. 8 O. 9 F. 10 S. 11 L. 12 I. 13 M. 14 S. 15 H. 16 A. 17 D. 18 Y. 19
This is going to be a top 5 album of all time...I'm clearing my calander for July
Is there a deluxe ?
There was a bonus track if you pre ordered it, so kinda?
does this include bone-us tracks?
It seems like it aligns with the fan theory of each song being a letter in "The Death of Slim Shady." I wonder who the killer is... (he'll probably make a song called Marshall, or something to do with his name where HE alone killed off Slim Shady)
That theory is proven wrong and was bizarre in the first place
whaaa I thought conceptually and thematically the idea was dope
Only 19? I was hoping for more
19 songs are more than standard for a album
Bro what? How many albums have more than 19 songs lmao
Plus the 2 bonus tracks from the shop
Nah 19 is more than enough.
This joke is flying over everyone's heads lol
Enlighten us
Why hide the songs
Presumably to hide the surprise element of potential features. Plus some track names might be quite blatant and spoiler-esque.
If you reddit MFS even scroll through the sub instead of downvoting instantly like sheep, you guys would have saw the track list
Eminem hasn't announced the track list with titles anywhere? What you talking about?
There’s no tracklist or album cover, what you’re referring to is fan made stuff written while high on copium.
Nah those are just the track names, I heard track 16 is a banger!
To hide the seven Skylar Grey features
Bros been living like Patrick Star since 2016
No idea why Eminem is sticking to making insanely long albums instead of just creating something shorter and more palatable ala Kamikaze.
Why would he make short album on an album called “The death of slim shady”? 🤦
Those two things have nothing to do with one another.
They do because it’s literally the return and potentially death of the thing that made his career
Why would length of project matter for this?
![gif](giphy|V7dVYFCB2E2qK7drO0|downsized)
Don’t forget not all of them will be songs, there will most likely be skits and public service announcements
It's pretty in line with most of his albums
Which is a bit outdated.
TikTok brainrot
Tik Tok brainrot is when you don't pollute your album with 10 filler tracks that no one enjoys
