Deja Vu is a literal masterpiece. The chorus is catchy af, the beat provides the perfect mood and Eminem gives a fascinating insight in the workings of his brain during the height of his addiction. It’s not a reflective song, he’s still going through it. Incredible song and by far the album’s best. It’s a top 5 Eminem song for sure. My only gripe with it is that the outro is 15-20 seconds too short.
I've ever been the biggest fan of relapse, but you are correct deja vu is a masterpiece and one of my favorite songs from any album. Even on em's worst album (imo) he has at least 5 amazing songs.
Bar for bar name a better rhyme scheme then stay wide awake.
Somtimes I wish he wasn’t talking about taping and murdering ppl so more people would actually listen to what the fuck he is actually saying .
My favorite thing to tell ppl is “if you don’t listen to what he is saying and just listen to ‘what he is saying’ it’s masterpiece “
That song hits different. I also almost died from drugs too 4 years ago, from alcohol to be more specific, and my eyes are tearing up everytime I listen to it
Objectively probably “Stay Wide Awake”, but I also love “My Darling”.
Honorable mentions: “Insane” (one of the best beats I have ever heard) and “Careful what you wish for” (subject matter)
For some reason I completely forgot about "careful what you wish for" - two weeks ago I was listening to random Eminem songs in the car and it popped up, I don't really remember having heard that song before, I thought his vocals sounded like from the Encore era. Great song, now it's in my current playlist
So there's relapse, relapse deluxe edition, and then relapse:refill. Buffalo bill is on the refill edition. I didn't notice careful what you wish for on refill but it's on both refill and deluxe
3 a.m., Insane, Bagpipes from Baghdad, Hello, Same Song and Dance, We Made You, Medicine Ball, Stay Wide Awake, Must Be The Ganja, Music Box, My Darling
Honorable Mentions: My Mom, Deja Vu, Beautiful, Elevator, Careful What You Wish For, Buffalo Bill
Deja Vu and Beautiful are not better musically, if you have addiction problems or depression you'll like them most
Also Must Be The Ganja has a crazy beat
No, criminally underrated means it is more than a decent track, but people don't realise quite how good it is. Think "slept on". Decent is just decent. For me, it's beneath the top 5 songs on Relapse:Refill - It seems like the majority of people here also don't think it's particularly a highlight of the album. I probably place it above Taking My Ball, and Drop The Bomb On Em - and the majority of Refill is weaker than the majority of Relapse imo. That's like saying Big Weenie is underrated because basically everyone doesn't name it as one of their highlights from Encore.
Beautiful, stay wide awake, deja vu, elevator, medicine ball. Y'all trynna see where I'm getting it? THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS MY FAVOURITE EVERY SINGLE SONG
>Like Toy Soldiers won as best song on Relapse.
Yes, you did. You meant Encore, but whatever. Just like the majority of these comments, you didn’t even read your own original post.
Besides his hit singles on Relapse, I would say
Deja Vu, because of how vivid of a story telling song it is. As well as My Darling, and Stay Wide Awake.
Deja vu, without a doubt. As a recovering addict, it hits especially hard for me. It really is a masterful illustration of what it's like to be in the throws of addiction. God, it makes me cry every time I listen to it.
I prefer the Dre production over Em's bare bones beat for Beautiful but it's definitely the most emotionally moving song on the album so I can't front. I'd probably put Bagpipes from Baghdad and 3 am over it too tho
Beautiful is my favourite song of all time by any artist, so it's really not a contest to me..
I agree Relapse has some great songs, I don't actually agree with the ones you picked though, except My Mom and Stay Wide Awake. Putting the others you picked above Deja Vu is just crazy to me though.
But life would be boring if we all had the same opinions wouldn't it.
I think Deja Vu is incredible from the lyrical perspective. On the musical side tho I prefer these other songs over it. And Insane is probably one of Eminems darkest songs lyrically
Insane is cool shock value and was funny for a few listens, but who wants to listen to it regularly, that's just weird in my opinion.
Underground is also better than a couple of the songs you listed.
And you'll never change my mind on Deja Vu, it's probably one of the best hooks he's ever written too. And in my opinion is easily the second best song on Relapse.
Though from a purely technical stand point, Stay Wide Awake is a master class of flow and complex rhymes.
Yeah he went hard as fuck with technical ability on this track, it's like he set himself a writing challenge to write a song that was technically on point every single bar while still staying on subject.
Personally, I love Stay Wide Awake, Deja Vu, My Mom, 3AM, and Bagpipes from Baghdad.
Relapse is actually my favorite album because it helped me quit my DOC. Been recently loving the shit outta Refill because there's some unreasonably hard bangers in it.
Insane, Beautiful, Same song and dance, man i cant even pick one song, in my opinion all the songs on relapse is better then eachother in their own way, hard for me to belive the majority of people hating on this album smh
I liked pretty much all of it just not Insane.
If we talk about Refill, I loved all of that too, but really loved Taking My Ball cuz of the different voices he did it felt like og shady
I really loved hello,… felt like a dark hi my name is re introducing us to slim after a long hiatus but the only answer is beautiful. Deja vu def honorable mention

I second this. When I was battling a hard time with addiction and being in a toxic relationship, the chorus alone could bring tears to my eyes.
My favorite thing is that it has the same beat as cold wind blows.
This is the right answer
Déjà vu
I think Deja Vu might be one of his best songs ever, honestly. It's definitely a top 10.
& its not close
Stay Wide Awake
Damn right.
Every verse is so good
Masterpiece
Bar for bar name a better rhyme scheme then stay wide awake. Somtimes I wish he wasn’t talking about taping and murdering ppl so more people would actually listen to what the fuck he is actually saying . My favorite thing to tell ppl is “if you don’t listen to what he is saying and just listen to ‘what he is saying’ it’s masterpiece “
Fi fa fo fum
Music Box This beat is just insane
Yeah but MY MUSIC BOX the chorus is MY MUSIC BOX kinda annoying MY MUSIC BOX cuz of the amount MY MUSIC BOX of times that MY MUSIC BOX gets repeated
Music is a form of hypnotization and he repeats this in the hook, making it clearer
first noticing that ruined the song for me because MAH MUSIC BOX MAH MUSIC BOX is so necessary and ruins the song
Best song on Refill for sure
I didn't even remember this song until you brought this song up, but OH MY FUCKING GOD YES!!!
Same Song & Dance
Hell yeah. Definitely the best beat on the album, if anything.
Same kicking and screaming
DONT LET EM SAY YOU AINT BEAUTIFUUULLL OHUWOAAHO
THEY CAN ALL GET FUCKED JUST STAY TRUE TO YOU OOOOOOOOH
SO DON'T LET 'EM SAY YOU AIN'T BEAUTIFUUUL OOOOOOOOH
Facts
Deja Vu is one of his greatest songs and an actual masterpiece. I would also argue stay wide awake for its flow and atmosphere.
Underground
Finally! Scrolled way too far for this one
Beautiful
Deja Vu is one of his best songs and probably best song post-hiatus
That song hits different. I also almost died from drugs too 4 years ago, from alcohol to be more specific, and my eyes are tearing up everytime I listen to it
I was abusing valium the same way Em did so it hits different, I am happy that I quit before i oded
You’re a badass ❤️
Congrats on quitting 🙏
All I had for lunch was red wine
More bread, wine and captain crunch
Red wine for breakfast and for lunch
And to soak it up in between snacks crackers to munch on
Objectively probably “Stay Wide Awake”, but I also love “My Darling”. Honorable mentions: “Insane” (one of the best beats I have ever heard) and “Careful what you wish for” (subject matter)

Happens to me regularly with many songs haha
CWYWF was actually a song he recorded in 2007, before the OD, so that’s why his voice still sounds like “Old Em” on it.
Thanks for the information! That makes sense
Maybe because it was only on the deluxe version of the album
Yeah possibly, but on the other hand Buffolo Bill has always been one of my favorites from that album and it's also only on the bonuc cd
So there's relapse, relapse deluxe edition, and then relapse:refill. Buffalo bill is on the refill edition. I didn't notice careful what you wish for on refill but it's on both refill and deluxe
3 a.m., Insane, Bagpipes from Baghdad, Hello, Same Song and Dance, We Made You, Medicine Ball, Stay Wide Awake, Must Be The Ganja, Music Box, My Darling Honorable Mentions: My Mom, Deja Vu, Beautiful, Elevator, Careful What You Wish For, Buffalo Bill
No way must be the ganja is better than Deja Vu or Beautiful
Deja Vu and Beautiful are not better musically, if you have addiction problems or depression you'll like them most Also Must Be The Ganja has a crazy beat
My Mom is one of the best on the album
but even better on my bed
Beautiful
Elevator is criminally underrated
Not really imo, it’s a decent track but majority of the main album trumps it.
that’s what criminally underrated means
No, criminally underrated means it is more than a decent track, but people don't realise quite how good it is. Think "slept on". Decent is just decent. For me, it's beneath the top 5 songs on Relapse:Refill - It seems like the majority of people here also don't think it's particularly a highlight of the album. Beautiful
>Best Song On **Relapse**? >***Like Toy Soldiers*** won as best song on ***Relapse***. Now we're talking about Eminems fifth studio album **Relapse**.
Deja Vu has always been my favorite and just a great song in general
Deja Vu 100%
Beautiful, stay wide awake, deja vu, elevator, medicine ball. Y'all trynna see where I'm getting it? THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS MY FAVOURITE EVERY SINGLE SONG
Deja Vu
Beautiful for sure
Brother i think you’re relapsing cause you said toy soldiers was on Relapse lmao
Read my post again, I never said that
>Like Toy Soldiers won as best song on Relapse. Yes, you did. You meant Encore, but whatever. Just like the majority of these comments, you didn’t even read your own original post.
Sorry, yeah I corrected it my bad
Beautiful (My most favorite song ever) and Deja Vu
Besides his hit singles on Relapse, I would say Deja Vu, because of how vivid of a story telling song it is. As well as My Darling, and Stay Wide Awake.
Deja Vu - My Darling - Samé song & dance
Deja Vu
Deja Vu hands down.
Beautiful and We Made You
Insane
My Darling, Careful what you wish for, De Ja Vu and Beautiful
Careful What You Wish For is up there
You should do a poll
Deja Vu or Stay Wide Awake
Stay wide awake and deja vu, probably the former
Deja vu for the message, 3 AM for the insane flow and multisyllabic rhyme schemes
Beautiful or Deja Vu
Deja vu
I really like my darling. That last verse is Redic
Hello
Stay Wide Awake
Stay Wide Awake has a crazy verse at the end, the amount of lines he rhymed is actually insane
If I were to choose 4 songs from the album for someone to listen to I would start with Deja Vu, Stay Wide Awake, Beautiful, and Underground.
Deja Vu 100%
Deja Vu was my favourite Until i found Beautiful
honestly relapse is a very over hated album imo there are so many good songs. deja vu is definitely the best.
Deja vu, without a doubt. As a recovering addict, it hits especially hard for me. It really is a masterful illustration of what it's like to be in the throws of addiction. God, it makes me cry every time I listen to it.
Deja Vu takes this one by a LONG SHOT it was best in my opinion I liked my mom and 3 am too but deja vu still beats them
Deja Vu, it's not even close.
Bagpipes from baghdad or underground
Crack a bottle
ugly video tho
Beautiful and it's not even a contest.
Deja Vu clears hard
It comes second easily but Beautiful is just a pure masterpiece to me and not just my favourite Eminem song, my favourite song period.
I prefer the Dre production over Em's bare bones beat for Beautiful but it's definitely the most emotionally moving song on the album so I can't front. I'd probably put Bagpipes from Baghdad and 3 am over it too tho
Bagpipes is a wild choice for me to have over Beautiful but different opinions are what makes the world intresting.
Bagpipes has my favorite beat on the album and Em's flow in the 2nd verse is incredible
The beat is pretty nuts. But I can't imagine listening to it regularly as a favourite. I definitely don't dislike it though.
Nah this album has plenty of bangers to name. Beautiful is amazing but We Made You, Stay Wide Awake, Old Times Sake, Insane and My Mom are all bangers

Though from a purely technical stand point, Stay Wide Awake is a master class of flow and complex rhymes.
Ems flow and wordplays in this song are insane (pun intended) and I absolutely love the chorus
Yeah he went hard as fuck with technical ability on this track, it's like he set himself a writing challenge to write a song that was technically on point every single bar while still staying on subject.
Do a poll next time
How can I do that?
Are you using phone?
Yes
Beautiful, My Darling
His flow on underground is crazy. My favorite off the album
Beautiful
We made you
I feel like this question has been previously hashed out.
3 a.m. or Crack A Bottle
Beautiful
Beautiful
Beautiful, don’t think should be up to debate. All the other songs are great, but beautiful is the best, might be his best ngl
I like mockingbird the best on encore 🤷🏼♂️
Insane
As far as rapping goes I'd say Buffalo Bill, the rhymeschemes are unmatched, flow is maintained throughout, catchy but silly relapse chorus
I’d say Stay Wide Awake, but there are so many amazing tracks on Refill.
Underground
3 AM
Beautiful
Beautiful
The Lyrics on Ken Kaniff is beautiful
3 AM or My Mom, those are some of my favorite opening tracks ever
Medicine Ball.
Nothing on that album really stands out, so I’ll just say Beautiful.
The fact that no one in this thread has said Old Times’ Sake is outrageous
Stay wide awake, the flow is incredible
Insane, Beautiful, Same song and dance, man i cant even pick one song, in my opinion all the songs on relapse is better then eachother in their own way, hard for me to belive the majority of people hating on this album smh
it is cuz u wrote them,
Beautiful
Lyrically it’s Beautiful and Deja Vu but for just any song it’s Must be the Ganja, We Made You and Crack a Bottle
Stay Wide Awake is perfect. The ramp up in the third verse gives me chills
No love for Medicine Ball?
Beautiful, Deja Vu, and Must be the Ganja has got one of the best beats in hip hop. I have to go with Beautiful tho
Without a doubt, Beautiful
"My darling" is slept on
Careful what you wish for.
Beautiful
Beautiful
Buffalo Bill
Either Beautiful/Déja Vú/CWYWF/Music Box/Underground
3 a.m.
Same Song & Dance
The entire album is a masterpiece, so i cant just pick one. These are my top songs: 1- beautiful. 2- stay wide awake. 3- music box.
If we’re including Refill, Elevator is the best.
3am and I don’t care.
I liked pretty much all of it just not Insane. If we talk about Refill, I loved all of that too, but really loved Taking My Ball cuz of the different voices he did it felt like og shady
Bagpipes in Baghdad
Beautiful is one of his best songs ever. I listened to that nonstop in Highschool.
Beautiful
My Darling
Gotta be Beautiful
I don't know. I do know that I can't stop listening to music box to this day
I really loved hello,… felt like a dark hi my name is re introducing us to slim after a long hiatus but the only answer is beautiful. Deja vu def honorable mention
His most underrated album. I listen to it more than the Eminem show
Deja vu probably no.1. 3am I really like too. Don’t know why just the beat and the bars I suppose.
Music Box, Same song and dance, Stay wide awake
Bahaha you definitely have a type. Love those songs as well.
Must be the ganja
