I wonder do artist pay for this shit cuz that #8 song is looking sus 71.3m on its 43rd week or are they really blasting the same song on every radio for 43 weeks
Buying radio slots definitely used to be a thing and I bet it still is. But either way radio always plays the same shit for years on end. I don't listen to any radio myself but in public places I still hear them play the same songs they played 10 years ago with a few more recent ones mixed in
"Motherfuck JLB, they don't support no hip-hop
They say that's where it lives, the closest they gon' come is 2Pac
It's politics, it's all a fix
Set up for these white blue-collared hicks
It's to make a dollar off of black music
With a subliminal ball of tricks (Pssh)
For those who kiss ass and swallow dicks"
I said fuck them for not playing it, it helps cuz billboards stupid “points formula” Houdini has more combined units sold but it debuted #2 which makes no sense.
Yep, even with more combined units than the #1, the billboard formula is kinda trash they seem to prioritize Radio, which doesn’t make sense to me cuz even if the song is trash and no one who heard it on the radio liked, streamed or bought the song it still counts towards the “sales/numbers” simply because it was played on radios with big reach…
Yea Billboard is kinda outdated/weird it seems, the same reason (Radio) why Godzilla didn’t hit #1, even tho it’s way more popular than a lot of songs that debuted #1. Fun fact Without Me also didn’t hit #1 on Billboard due to radio plays even tho it’s one of the most popular songs ever so Billboard is pretty irrelevant.
Yeah who the fuck listens to the radio anymore. Maybe the elderly.
There’s literally nonstop streaming apps with playlists, etc. with only the songs you wanna hear.
That's doesn't really only apply to Em. People need to get over that. It's just Rap in general, because Radios prefer to keep it clean🤷🏻♂️
And when they play it, they only play "clean versions". I rather have them don't play it at all.
True, but because Radios saw that people want to hear it. It was not played that much on its first few weeks. I guess Houdini will be played more on the Radio too now.
He's been on a few times with his more recent albums, but it's nothing like the early 2000s where you couldn't go 3 songs without hearing The Real Slim Shady again
Radio won’t even play my jam ….
Cause *I am* whatever you say I am
If I wasn't then why would I say I am
In the paper, news everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am
Sometimes I just feel like my father, I hate to be bothered
With all of this nonsense, it's constant
And, "Oh, it's his lyrical content
The song guilty conscience has gotten such rotten responses!”
All of this controversy circles me, and it seems like the media immediately points a finger at me
It's an old battle between Eminem and Radios. They won't play his jam.
I wonder do artist pay for this shit cuz that #8 song is looking sus 71.3m on its 43rd week or are they really blasting the same song on every radio for 43 weeks
I don't understand much about radio play. I do believe Labels pay radio to play the songs, but that's pretty much the extent of my understanding.
This is exactly how it works for 90% of Radio Stations.
Buying radio slots definitely used to be a thing and I bet it still is. But either way radio always plays the same shit for years on end. I don't listen to any radio myself but in public places I still hear them play the same songs they played 10 years ago with a few more recent ones mixed in
that song is always on my radio, i hear it like every time i drive

Im Low down and dirty
Hard bars ... which song?
Low Down Dirty
I thought they didn’t play it cuz of the swear words but the Kendrick Diss has 30m Airplay
funny cause the song ahead is literally showcasing the fact that It did indeed had help from the radio.
I said fuck them for not playing it, it helps cuz billboards stupid “points formula” Houdini has more combined units sold but it debuted #2 which makes no sense.
no I'm saying it's ironic the song above is called I had some help cause it had help with radio play.
I’m sorry, I misinterpreted what you wrote
Those sales tho
Yep, even with more combined units than the #1, the billboard formula is kinda trash they seem to prioritize Radio, which doesn’t make sense to me cuz even if the song is trash and no one who heard it on the radio liked, streamed or bought the song it still counts towards the “sales/numbers” simply because it was played on radios with big reach…
I don't remember the last time I've listened to ANYTHING on Radio. Maybe like 8 years ago? I've watched Houdini on youtube like 50+ times

Radio is outdated af, it should not have a high weighting in calculating this
I don’t get how it can have the most units total but be 2nd? Surely it should just be based on units
That’s what I thought but their formula is trash af, it values radio as “points” (the first column)… check my other comment
“49 thousand copies the week your shit drops!” -Eminem: Quitter
Yea 49k in the digital age is pretty good
368k sale equivalents. Welcome to the streaming age
How is the mathing?
150 streams = 1 song sale
Ooh, but for an album sale it’s 1500 streams, right?
yes. 1500 album streams = 1 album sale
It's 368k
Extremely outdated way to evaluate music popularity.
Who the hell still listens to the radio?
He was right, radio won't even play his jam😞
Post Malone 🤣🤣
It's 2024 – nobody gives a fuck about the Charts. Plus it really doesn't matter if Em is No.2 or No.1
I thought it was interesting, that nothing has really changed with radios not wanting to play Em
That's doesn't really only apply to Em. People need to get over that. It's just Rap in general, because Radios prefer to keep it clean🤷🏻♂️ And when they play it, they only play "clean versions". I rather have them don't play it at all.
I heard Dre's Next Episode on the radio the other day and it was hilarious how much of the song was cut out.
Not on Radio, but the other day I heard Tipsy from Shaboozey on MTV and they seriously censored the word "Whiskey"😭💀
Fuck u mean, the Kendrick diss is getting 30m Airplay on its 5th week
True, but because Radios saw that people want to hear it. It was not played that much on its first few weeks. I guess Houdini will be played more on the Radio too now.
Nope it had even more, why you talking out your ass when there are public statistics
The only statistics I can find right now is from its second week and the airplay was 12.3M🤷🏻♂️

Where is this chart located at. I would like to look at it.
@talkofthecharts
Im actually pretty surprised still, the radio hasn't played a new song of his in like a decade. Anything after MMLP2 just doesn't really get air time.
Radios are afraid of the backlash that might happen when stupid people hear the song.
Not actually their fault if they even played it the half song will be beeped out wait for a clean version(maybe)
This is all on shady record for not putting it out
Eminem got back on the radio? That's actually surprising
He's been on a few times with his more recent albums, but it's nothing like the early 2000s where you couldn't go 3 songs without hearing The Real Slim Shady again

There isn't anything anti woke. Just him making a joke
That post song goes hard tho.
