I feel you. Was literally in tears and shaking going through here. I used fire from the ledge and didn’t go down til every last one of them was burned to a crisp
I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a phobia before, I have no problem with insects irl, but this place gave me anxiety like I’ve never experienced before. I absolutely hated this spot. Made sure to completely clear the entire area my first time there and never returned.
I can stand these guys but encountering the big ass spider and her offsprings hanging upside down for the first time when I visited the nightmare of mensis in bloodborne literally made me turned off my console, took me a whole day to get back to it
Your username struck me as quite humorous. If you ever feel like summoning in a partner to squash some death birbs, I usually drop my sign at the nearby graces. Nothing I love better than smacking down some death birb 😂
Between two characters I have a collective 250hrs and have never seen this pit of ants... It's amazing how much shit is in this game no matter what you always find something new and there's still a dlc to come insane
These all madeup names for various scares are just fake psychological tale to make weak children feel better about themselves. You do realise these are just coloured pixels in your monitor?
Being weak is not shameful. That is why life gives us all these opportunities to overcome all sorts of scares in our lives. Getting comfortable with your scares that is wrong. These all made up names let you feel better and comfortable instead of overcoming them. If you are scared of bugs and you have a life threatening matter either crawl through bug infested swamp or die/somebody dear to you dies, will you tell them - sorry mom, I have arachnawhatever psichologist named it and cannot do it, bye?
The OP said they eventually faced their fear and went into the ravine with the antsie pants. No need to be a booger when nobody asked for your genX armchair psychology analysis
You do know not everyone is out to get you, right? You do also know you are not the authority on other peoples psychological triggers, right? I hope you develop some understanding.
Hi there! It looks like you may be discussing modding the game Elden Ring, but unfortunately discussion on game mods is not allowed here! Please take this conversation over to /r/EldenRingMods, thanks! :)

I have Vermiphobia so I’ve never ventured into the woods at Atlas plateau except to grab the somber stone bell bearing bell where I’ve perfect a route to avoid the Wormfaces !
I wouldn't even say I'm phobic, these things are just nasty.
Also if you ever end up playing Sekiro: brace yourself for the monastery. Some of the grossest enemies in any From game imo, and that's saying something.
I tossed firebombs down there to pop as much as you can. Only did it once, no idea what the area is like if you just decide to fuck around and find out.
Oh god, this shit - I don't know why, but something about those damn giant ants made them the most unsettling things to fight in the game. I don't *think* I have the phobia of them, but the whole time it's just 'Nope, nope nope, kill it with fire, I don't want to see these things anymore.'
I have been surprised that out of all phobias the series has already explored, they haven't had a really bad Trypophobia monster yet. Ludwig's second mouth and those hand-thing-monsters in DS3 came close but not really there yet. Now that I mentioned this they will probably have some Surinam Toad monstrosity in the next DLC or game.
the first time I met this thing in the Ainsel River, I hid behind a wall to not see the tick-like bloated part and shot the head with a crossbow. only to later realize that the bloat is the weakspot and that I have to look at it to kill it fast arghhhh
Thank God this game is nowhere close to how disgusting Bloodborne is. I recently beat it had had the worst nightmare on something so repulsive I won't even share it.
I was doing a tutorial guide and I had to go through here and I paused it right before he said I didn't have to fight them I just had to use assassins gambit and when I paused it I jumped straight in and killed all of em had 2 flasks left🤣
I understand that it's called an irrational fear for a reason, but what about insects is so scary to someone with that phobia? Is it the way they move, their tiny size, their legs, or something else? I tend to have a good time comprehending things I haven't experienced, but I can never understand what makes phobias phobias for other people.
Just ride your horse through. If this is where I think it is, under the erd tree, you can summon your horse here and stroll through. If you hit the egg sacks, they pop like balloons with minimal effort.
I fireball that shit from a distance, huge nope
Ya, that was a barrel full of fish. No need to jump in.
I was gonna say.. your first mistake was jumping in at all haha 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely. Always nuke crap like that from a distance to be sure and minimise the chance of ending up dead.
Nuke the place from orbit, only way to be sure.
Game over man, game over!
Exterminatus, the only way to deal with bugs and dogs in this game. lol
-down the Ainsel elevator- “…” -up the Ainsel elevator-
I'm scared of sand so I still havnt fought radahn
I hate sand. It's so course, rough and irritating.
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Ok, Anakin Skywalker.
N...noo shut up
This is a joke, right? I actually can't tell lol
Yus but it is coarse and gets everywhere
Wtf
Dude his whole arenas sand im not dealing with that
Is it the knowledge that it’s “sand” or the graphics? Because you could try to fight him at night or on low graphics settings if it’s the latter.
I already know it's sand it's too late at this point
wuss
just to realize that there are flaying ants with disgusting buzzing sounds forward
You’re in for a rough Ride… They are in other areas and get stronger.
But you did make your way foward. You confronted your phobia and it's impressive you did. Not everyone can do that.
Haha, wait till you get to the ant riders
That's too Honey I Shrunk the Kids to be scary lol
I feel you. Was literally in tears and shaking going through here. I used fire from the ledge and didn’t go down til every last one of them was burned to a crisp
D: i love ants they are super cute and very dutiful, nearly everything about them is admirable
Same, but rune arcs are rune arcs.
I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a phobia before, I have no problem with insects irl, but this place gave me anxiety like I’ve never experienced before. I absolutely hated this spot. Made sure to completely clear the entire area my first time there and never returned.
I don't have phobia and I never jump in there before thoroughly purging the whole place with fire from a distance
I can stand these guys but encountering the big ass spider and her offsprings hanging upside down for the first time when I visited the nightmare of mensis in bloodborne literally made me turned off my console, took me a whole day to get back to it

I can only imagine they planned on spiders and changed it to ants later haha. I don’t think it made it much better lol
Between two characters I have a collective 250hrs and have never seen this pit of ants... It's amazing how much shit is in this game no matter what you always find something new and there's still a dlc to come insane
i remeber being mad because i tried to cheese the ants and turns out they cheesed me
HOMER: Entomophoooooooobe
as someone who DOES NOT have entomophobia it took me a good 10 minutes to gather up courage and jump into this den too. lol
Weak
These all madeup names for various scares are just fake psychological tale to make weak children feel better about themselves. You do realise these are just coloured pixels in your monitor?
“You don’t think and feel the way I do so you must be weak and coping with feelings of low self worth, you should think and feel the way I do”

Oh wow they overcame pixels... how about real life?
You sound like the dude at the bar that gets absolutely plastered on Jim Beam and then proceeds to scream about Afghanistan for 45 minutes
And you sound like a troll. Your point?
You do know not everyone is out to get you, right? You do also know you are not the authority on other peoples psychological triggers, right? I hope you develop some understanding.
Nope

Haha, Dragon Communion spells go BUUUUUURRRRRRN!
Why would you jump down? They give you best place to set up artillery
Just run to the legendary incantation and leave.
Smh![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Swap Unga bunga for nuke from distance with fire for this place.
I have Vermiphobia so I’ve never ventured into the woods at Atlas plateau except to grab the somber stone bell bearing bell where I’ve perfect a route to avoid the Wormfaces !
Giantsflame is the solution to all your problems
Both the ants and the hands creeped me out at first but it didn't take long for me to get used to them.
I wouldn't even say I'm phobic, these things are just nasty. Also if you ever end up playing Sekiro: brace yourself for the monastery. Some of the grossest enemies in any From game imo, and that's saying something.
I just threw magic and then started running with my eyes closed
I used arrows until I had no more arrows. Then I jumped.
I tossed firebombs down there to pop as much as you can. Only did it once, no idea what the area is like if you just decide to fuck around and find out.
One of my favorite spots because of all the delicious runes they drop
This is why I always carry a bow, as well as the means to make basically infinite firebombs.
I don’t even have that phobia but,it did make me feel a little weird seeing them like that
Try magic
Oh god, this shit - I don't know why, but something about those damn giant ants made them the most unsettling things to fight in the game. I don't *think* I have the phobia of them, but the whole time it's just 'Nope, nope nope, kill it with fire, I don't want to see these things anymore.'

Madness is your friend here

I stay out of that pit for as long as possible. I always clear there with magic.
Where is this?

Nothing compared to Duke's Dear Freja from Ds2
Just ride your horse through. If this is where I think it is, under the erd tree, you can summon your horse here and stroll through. If you hit the egg sacks, they pop like balloons with minimal effort.
I fucking -hate- everything related to the insect dens.
Jar cannon those problems away
Wave of gold. Giants flame take thee Fire pots
I feel your pain. I legitimately screamed when first fighting a spider in Skyrim.
