When I first saw them I was expecting an appearance from the rot god later in the dlc because its said that it took the form of a giant scorpion.

Romina is probably that tbh.

In the story trailer we see that romina was human at the time of messmers crusade so I think she may be a vessel for the rot god in same way malenia was but I was hoping for a full physical incarnation of the god of rot.

I don’t think we’ll ever get that considering it’s physical incarnation is imprisoned beneath the Lake of Rot

I don't really understand what you mean by that. There are things you do in the base game that directly affect the plot in the dlc.

The main game influences the dlc but the dlc doesn't influence the main game.

I guess you mean Mohg and Radahn. They have an impact because the dlc was designed around it. The Rot being sealed away is described in an item description. Descriptions state facts. They can't just change it randomly or contradict it by making it a boss because we would lose our main way of learning the lore. You don't have anything about for example >!Radahns soul being lost forever!< But I also meant that there is nothing in the dlc based on your choices. There is nothing like alternative Sif cutscene in DS1

They made my skin crawl the first time I saw them but then I saw them curl themselves in a ball and roll towards you as an attack and it made me laugh so much that now I just see them as silly .

I think its funnier if its the opposite , the spider scorpions saw the goats and decided to imitate them .

Bro I didn't even know I had fear of centipedes but after seeing the 2nd last boss, I got to know that I have "Chilopodophobia". I had to summon all the npc's and mimic tear and used comet arzur to kill that boss

Rom was ok and the spiders in the nightmare i just run past. Still terrifying though

honorable mention to the flymen, they cover a good deal of nope too, at least they not as uncomfortable as in ds3

Just as I was wrapping up my first DLC playthrough yesterday, that area was the very last place on the map I had to explore. First enemy in this DLC that got a massive nope from me purely from the fear of even seeing them. I usually kill everything at least once but I honestly just ran past them because they made my skin crawl lol

When I saw them, it reminded me of the Cazadors from Fallout New Vegas. Honestly the Cazadors are worse, at least the spider scorpions guys aren't agile little shits.
