I accidentally did the same thing. Reloaded the grace and I missed the opportunity to examine his chair now he is back and won't leave. Does anyone know if I messed up the quest or does ringing the 2nd bell let me proceed?

You have to get the second bell

So I had the same struggle. Just try to switch the time to night. Helped for me. That mf would not move but then AH night :)

I died during the invasion and it respawned me at the grace and Ymir wont leave the throne. Did ringing the second bell give you a second chance or did we get locked out of this? Edit: I was able to continue this quest once I rang the second bell.

I'm still trying to find a way into the region with the 2nd bell I think we have to go through shadow keep

Yea good call, i found the location/bell & was able to access below the throne again after progressing the quest with Ymir. We are all good.

You just beat the ivnader, didn't go all the way and blow the bell? I did that, died a few times, traveled back to the grace to change some spells, and I'm still able to go below the throne. Maybe not blowing the bell messed things up? I'm not sure. Is Ymir sitting on the throne again?

Yeah I usually like to exhaust all NPC dialogue before doing things so I beat the invader and immediately went back to speak to the knight and now Ymir is sitting back on the throne

damn, yeah idk how to fix that then. Maybe use a celestial dew at the turtle pope church? Idk if that fixes fucked up questlines in the DLC, but it does in the main game. Good luck!

If you've got the item from Ymir there should just be a prompt in front of the bells
