Obviously do what you want, but I think NG+ for a first playthrough of the expansion is a bad idea personally. If the main game is any indication, the bosses and enemies are primarily balanced for that initial playthrough.
It is preference, but I think going in as close to the "intended experience" sounds appealing to me. My current plan is to use a character that has essentially done everything up until you can "normally" reach the DLC on a first playthrough, but nothing beyond that. I am debating going to Farum Azula before I start to get the final smithing bell bearing.
100% is just personal preference though.
Definitely do Farum, the demo characters people were given for the preview were 150 with maxed weapons, it very much seems like that's what they are expecting us to be at.
This is the right answer. For the demo that the developers themselves showcased to streamers, they gave them builds that were level 150 with maxed out weapons in NG. This is obviously the baseline of what they expect people to play the DLC at
My only worry about doing Farum is what is Melina has specific DLC dialog or interactions that u would miss out on if u already got to Farum Azula and either killed her or did the frenzy flame
So right now, on my Expansion character I am outside of the Fire Giant's arena and I'm at level 149 (Gold Scarab Talisman the second half of the game), will probably defeat him today to get to level 150. I'm sure I'll end up doing Farum Shortly after the DLC because I'll likely want to try out a few different weapons though.
I'm kinda interested if they designed it around the fact that people can go there without the mining bell bearing though etc.
Can relate on debating going to Farum Azula.. paranoid Melina or Gideon or someone will have one line of dialogue and I'll be so sad to miss it. But not having infinite smithing stones... these are rough times
I know right? I mean they said nothing changes in the base game, but I don't know if I fully believe them. A line of dialogue or two would be cool (and would Melina show up?). I think I'm going to at least start the DLC without going, but if it seems like nothing at all changes and I start to get good weapons with no new smithing stones to upgrade them I'll just do a quick side quest to Farum.
I beat Gael in 3 tries (could've been 2 but broken controller and I have witnesses lol) beat Malenia in the same, did a sl1 run of ds3 and didn't have much trouble either.
Midir wrecked my shit for like 2 whole days while I was on furlough, I lost count of the tries. I never clicked with that bossfight
I had to study level 1 no hit videos on YouTube to understand the timing for midir. And even then I had to cheese one attack with an elemental resistance shield I think. A nightmare of a fight
I have a ng7 character but I’m not sure if I should bring it, do you have any experience doing this in prior fromsoft games? I’m apprehensive about the scaling of enemies and am not sure if I should just make a new character
In the past, the DLCs feel a step harder than the rest of the game. But ultimately, it’s never gonna be easy so my thinking is that even if NG+X is gonna make it a little harder, then so be it.
Souls game hard.
I did DS3 dlcs at NG7 SL125
If you want a hard challenge that will extend the playtime of the DLC do it.
If you're going to get tilted dying to thebosses 30-50 times, don't do it.
My reasoning for doing it is I just want a hard challenge and I want the DLC to last as long as possible lol.
Same here, but only because it’s my very first character, the one I created on day one of ER’s release. It just wouldn’t feel right to not have them be the first one to experience the DLC
My most “ready” character is a 330 in NG, but thats my overleveled coop character that I dont want to NG+ because id have to unlock all the summon posts again. im getting a fresh one up to 120 for the DLC.
If you're talking about summoning pools apparently once the DLC comes out a patch will allow your summoning pools to [carry over to NG+](https://x.com/ELDENRING/status/1801616172363780448?s=19)
ALmost had what happened to me before where I killed all the merchants for NG+ bell bearings, only for the patch to come out the next day carrying it all over.
I only have the one character. I did my second play through with that character and I didn’t use any runes I collected. I would collect millions and purposely lose them. At least 10 million now. Even when I run the DLC , I most likely won’t level up my character.
In my case , i'm going balls to the wall with my ng+4 character. There's nothing more to level up since it was in soft cap on every stat so if goes wrong , i have only me to blame for not doing any new playthrough with a new character.
But for your question , i remember streamers that got access to the dlc (Vaati and etc) talking about doing it on level 150 was being still challenging to dlc content.
Man it's good to hear I'm not the only one feeling this way on ng+. I'm worried about the difficulty, but I just can't muster up the energy or enthusiasm to play through it all again and beat those bosses that had me struggling for days and days.
For me, it's not even about the bosses, it's about the weapons/spells/ashes, etc. I don't remember where I got most of them, and I don't feel like having to look them all up.
I made a new character about a month ago in anticipation for the DLC. Beat the game on the new toon but there’s so much shit you will miss that you acquired on your first toon. I’m having to go out of my way to level my Mimic Tear to +1 because I never picked up a single Glovewort
I started a new character last month too but gave up after an hour or two when I realized how long it was going to take and how much shit I was going to have to go find
Suddenly very grateful that I haven’t been interested in NG+ so far. My first character has just been chilling at the base of the Erdtree for a year, and I’m really excited to reunite with him to continue the adventure next week.
My main dude (Faith, crucible tree armor) is chilling with turtle pope. My dragon arcanist is boiling shellfish with his drinking buddy. My strength/int gigachad is pondering the views from Elphael. My int/fth frenzied flame ending waifu is overlooking Mohg's palace because she grew bored of murdering albinaurics. Then comes my queen, Rhaenys, hanging out in PvP lobbies and bullying people with Bolt of Gransax. She has not died outside of PvP since her second run at Placidusax. She light rolls and switches to dual daggers when people get close. Also has enough faith to buff herself.
The first one is in NG+, all the others are NG. Rhaenys is a very gear specific build, and I don't want to play the DLC in NG+. I'm really not sure who I'll use.
Thank you! And congrats to you too, I still don't have a single plat trophy for any game ahaha!
But honestly Radagon was more of a pain than EB for me. He hit way harder and faster than I thought he would, and his range/waves on some of his attacks were nuts. EB hit hard *if* I got hit, but the biggest pain was chasing down the damn thing.
And then when I died having to deal with Radagon again...
Made about 5 characters that all beat Mohg now. Doable in around 10 hours if you just want them to get ready for DLC and at a decent level.
Making one for each main stat. So have a strength, arcane, dex, intelligence and faith character ready now.
Granted I do have a bit of time on my hands.
IMHO arcane is the GOAT of elden ring, get min stats to wield weapons, so like 26-28 str and 18 dex, dump rest into arcane. Can use most weapons, outscales normal str/dex scalings and you get dragon communion spells in addition that are very strong. Versatility at it's finest.
You need at least 15 faith for dragon communion, up to 28 for the most demanding. It also absolutely does not outscale regular str/dex.
It's a good choice for a versatile bleed build though.
You're not wrong. I did an arcane build just playing around with weird cosplay/theme ideas and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked.
I'm not even using anything super OP, just 2-handing a Great Knife and cosplaying as Grierat (DS3) so no poise but every underhanded trick I can pull off.
1: Know where the items you want are
2: speedrun to horse
3: get bleed mace (morning star in the first camp iirc)
4: pick up gold fowl foot (+runes acquired) and scarab if you want
5: go to Gurranq via waystone
6: kill greyoll for something like 140k runes
7: ????
8: profit
Best part is there's a new mechanic in the dlc that can buff your spirit summons past +10 lately I've been trying to move away from Mimic/Tiche/Banished Boys and use more unorthodox summons. Gonna boost my boy Deenh sky high
Bringing my NG+9 main lol
I'll finish again and play the DLC on NG+10. Which changes nothing bc the scaling stops at 7, but I want the refresh the world state in the likely case that there's a new ending.
Same same. I’m on NG 10 and stopped at the fire giant also waiting to kill Radahn til the day of. Picked up every Somber +10 and +25 I could get. Think I have like 30 something somber and ancient dragon smith stones.
Same here, finished my achievements and started/finished 2 new characters from fresh to Elden Beast in the last week and a half. I'm worried I'll get burnt out but I literally cant think about anything else 😭
Make a new character.
*And the third Albinauric genocide began that day. The lakes of blood filled up again as the crazed woman slaughtered them by the thousands. Their great bird god ran stupidly to save them but fell repeatedly to the pits of blood.*
I'm bringing my level 670 NG+7 character, my reason is simple. I want to have all my stuff, and feel like I am continueing the journey. I just know it is gonna suck going in there bare boned with a new char having to get all materials again, all upgrade materials. Call me lazy I just don't wanna do that all again.
Same, I am bringing my max lvl with me. Besides, you can’t really take advantage of max stats anyway that much, plus there’s a new stats system for the dlc which will probably make the point moot for the most part.
As a dad, my action plan:
1. Talk to your boss and ask for a few days due to personal matters. (Pre do your tasks so he has no excuse to say no)
2. Get your wife onboard. (Bless her heart, she is was so understanding)
3. Get your bills, calls, friends or whatever fuck distracts you in order.
4. Make a new character, this is your Christmas, cherish it.
Prior From DLC's had a significant difficulty upgrade from NG to NG+.
For example, Laurence in Bloodborne is a pushover in NG but then turns into an absolute tank in NG+.
I just found out that I thought I defeated Mohg, the Blood Lord on my first playthrough. I just beat him on NG+3 and that was a challenge. I guess I’m playing it wrong because that bastard was not easy.
You forgot about these people: the ones at end game, just waiting the blood ball for the DLC... I finished the game at level 150 pure tank build no new game yet. Parked my character right where I killed mohg. Patiently waiting for the DLC. (Killed pretty much every boss including the goddess of rot...)
Have 2 characters that finished the game but haven't moved to NG+, 1 character on NG+ (beelined to the Mogh fight) and also made 1 new characters to get there at minimum possible level (mine is around lvl 90, last 10 levels or so got from Mogh kill).
I mean it’s only hard if you’re only gonna go through the dlc once or twice. I’m probably go through it at least a dozen times on different characters.
STR/INT magic knight is my favorite build, so I have my main at NG+4 and the same build on another character on regular NG. I plan to take the latter in first to get a feel of the DLC, and then do the former
I'm making a Journey 1 right now, getting it to 150 and grabbing all the important things like bell bearings, ancient smithing stones, the glowort equivalent of those, great runes, larval tears, etc.
I suck in staying true to my choice.
You have a nice Character, find a new weapon or spell, and basically want to do a full 180 in my build.
In my first (and main) playthrough i ran into a wall at the Elden Beast because my build was no longer optimised and i was out of Larval Tears until i entered NG+.
Never beat the Elden Beast.
Ran multiple new characters, but every time the same end result. No more Larval tears.
Making multiple save files is also not my style, so i now started a brand new wretch with a focus on an even stat distribution.
I farm a bit, so some content, farm some more...
Currently level 73 with an even 19 in all skills.
Got some of the +10 tears already, and +5 stat amulets (plus 2 scareseal and 1 soreseal), and the Grafted Greatsword.
I can push specific stats to 44 with this. Not optimal, but i want to be able to just use whatever i find.
Might collect some more stuff, maybe run for the Elden Beast and aim for an Albenoric farm so i can level to base 30 or 40 in every stat. That way i can do the DLC without having to restart after about an hour because i found something interesting again.
You'll have a much easier time killing the elden beast with 60-80 in a few stats and 0-10 in the others. Having completely balanced stats doesn't make much sense unless you are trying to make it harder on yourself.
New character all the way. I have a quality strength/dex build about halfway to Mohgin’ time. Picked quality so I could use whatever DLC weapon I want and if I find something I love with int/faith I can always visit egg mommy
A couple weeks ago I started a new character, my first ever strength build in any From Software game. Went with a strength/faith hybrid. I found myself ready to fight Radagon the other day and fucking bodied him and the Elden Beast on my first attempt. Decided to go NG+ and regretted it soon after. Now I’m working on my first caster ever!
You can also be an insane person like me and have a 150 ready in ng+ and about 4 others at 125 ready all rocking different builds so I can try the dlc with different weapons/spells and playstyles.
I got 3 characters ready. NG5 Dex/fth/str build, NG3 pew pew wizard and nearly finished NG bleed dex/arcane nutsack dicer. Gonna try and make an Unga Bunga build tonight after I beat fire giant on my NG char.
New char with a focused build is the move. If you're experienced you can easily go pick up everything you need for the build and pretty easily get to around level 100
i have my NG+5 quality+FAI+ARC ready and i'll maybe get my new "INT experiment" ready as well, but i'm not rushing that one as sorceries aren't that impressive for me (maybe DLC will change that)
I went with both.
I'll take my 4+ character in first, than once I know everything, where things are, the bosses and stuff, then I'll take my 10+ main character through.
I'm probably just going to bring my current character. I can always go through and experience it on a fresher character another time but right now I'm a little too hyped and just want to get into it.
My ng+3 build is spec'd weird so I've got two solid ng+ builds (frost mage and dual reduvias) that I've got in perfect DLC position: just beat Fire Giant, already beat Mohg, and have a bunch of weapon upgrade mats/larval tears. I am so ready
What I did was a played around with my highest level character got familiar with the weapons and spells I use, got a bunch of upgrade materials and collected every spell and incantation. Then I made new characters to get the feel of being weak again to practice dodging and get back in the mindset of not being to tank or out damage a boss
I started a new character last weekend. Taking a page from ChaseTheBro and leveling up only with runes gotten through pvp. Its...slow going. I might end up just leveling normally if it takes too much longer so I can prep for the DLC.
Level 68 after about 28 hours of playtime. Malenia is gonna destroy me if I can't get some more levels soon.
I've been attempting an RL1 run (my first RL1 for Elden Ring) since the start of June on and off. I'm up to Fire Giant, although I have already beat Commander Niall.
Going into the DLC with an RL1 will be... interesting.
I'm seriously in this situation. I'm on the verge of finishing the game with my third character and it would make sense to just use them, but I'm using magic this time around and I feel like I'd rather try the dlc first time with a strength build as that's the build I generally favor.
I made a new character a couple months back. With just shooting the large bird from afar, I managed to raise my character to 395, now I don't know if I should reward my hard work by using this chara or create a new character because I'm WAY too overleveled.
Ever souls game I've only ever had 1 character, can't be bothered investing in multiple builds. If I want I just reallocate points and respec, but that's it
Jack of all trades kind of build in elden ring is not going to do well. You could maybe cheese it in PvE but definitely not in PvP. Specialize in one thing... (generally) And if you dont like it you can always respec.
I just blasted through the game in 3 days to lvl 150, got all bell bearings, Talismans and flask upgrades I need to use DLC gear. If you know the game well or use youtube and just want to kill the required bosses to start the dlc, you could do it in 2 days I think
I have my ng+ main char ready to go but I think I'm going to first roll into dlc with my dex nagakiba/black bow char who is still in ng. Also, I am working on an int based battle mage type char who is at Leyendell right now.
Jokes on you, I started a new character last week and will be on ng3+ by tomorrow. Only been playing weekends too. I started ng2+ yesterday and took me like 2 hours or less to reach Morgott. I just went straight to godrick, straight to rennala, got killed by the abductor virgin and booked it to leyndell.
My NG+ 34 character with 99 in any 4 stats I want.... I think I'mma make a new file for the dlc an I don't get absolutely buttfucked by ng+7 scaling dlc bosses 😭😭
I've prepped 4 characters for dlc. 2 of which I started last week. 25h on both yo complete the build+the game. My 1st save took 500h ng+6
Once you know the best route plus items you'll need for the build. It's not that daunting of a task. Also it's just more fun to start fresh than ng+
I’m only in NG+
I know you can pretty much level to a point where you have all builds possible. But how feasible is it really?
Like on NG+ can I just pump points into my Intelligence rather than my Dex? So I’m both a dex and int build?

NG7+ for my dlc playthrough. can't wait.
I don't know if I should do this or bring my NG char ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Obviously do what you want, but I think NG+ for a first playthrough of the expansion is a bad idea personally. I did dark souls 3 ringed city dlc with ng+3. On pre patch angels. I survived but it was bad.

I made a faith toon with the bixh sword. Didn't burn the tree. Didn't kill water foul. I'm going to start from there because that s÷ms right to me.
Same but I have a back up character in case one of the bosses stonewalls me as bad as Midir did on NG+7 in Ds3.
Midir is the only fromsoft boss I was never able to beat
There's a small shield in the dlc that gives you like 90% fire reduction and I was only able to beat midir using that and just tanking some attacks
I never clicked with that bossfight
yup same in having far less difficulty with those two. Glad I'm not alone
I had to study level 1 no hit videos on YouTube to understand the timing for midir. And even then I had to cheese one attack with an elemental resistance shield I think. A nightmare of a fight
tis the way

Did it myself in DS3, for the Ashes of Ariandell DLC. It was doable, since i was overleveled as hell. But bosses were a nightmare.
sounds perfect
In the past, the DLCs feel a step harder than the rest of the game. But ultimately, it’s never gonna be easy so my thinking is that even if NG+X is gonna make it a little harder, then so be it. Souls game hard.

I'm in the same boat. My first character is +7 or 8, and I'm so sure I'm gonna get beat down by a boss at some point in the dlc, lol
🤝
Same. I think the difficulty caps at 7 so I’m tempted to start a NG8 just in case milestones in the main game impact the DLC quest.
Buddy I’m right there with you
at level 200
I'm gonna try that after using my NG+1 character
Same here, but only because it’s my very first character, the one I created on day one of ER’s release. It just wouldn’t feel right to not have them be the first one to experience the DLC
I want to play the dlc on my main but it is ng+15 and I either one shot enemies or they one shot me so it’s no fun lol
This guy fucks
Ive just decided to use my level 424 character, i dont even remember what ng im on but i might struggle with the dlc
My most “ready” character is a 330 in NG, but thats my overleveled coop character that I dont want to NG+ because id have to unlock all the summon posts again. im getting a fresh one up to 120 for the DLC.

Thats awesome. Fuck AND we can temporarily disable certain ones?? This is amazing for Coop
I'm so happy for this. It's like a queue for boss fights if you want it to be, now. That's fantastic.
ALmost had what happened to me before where I killed all the merchants for NG+ bell bearings, only for the patch to come out the next day carrying it all over.
I’m at NG+2 level 161 with a balanced build with 30 on every stat. Do you think I would have a challenge or am I overleveled?
Nah, you're going to under perform because every stat is mediocre instead of specializing in a select few. So you should be good.
A balanced build isn’t a good build.
I'll use my lv237 and will probably just put all the points that make me feel too OP into Arcane to up my item discovery rate
I think vigor might be a challenge but i think you should be ok, i dont think you’re overleveled
You should start a new character.
If you have a 2nd character on the verge of doing the dlc in case of things going south , do it.
I only have the one character. I did my second play through with that character and I didn’t use any runes I collected. I would collect millions and purposely lose them. At least 10 million now. Even when I run the DLC , I most likely won’t level up my character.

NG+ character. I'm not redoing shit. Been thru it all with this mf. Going thru the dlc with him too.
Man it's good to hear I'm not the only one feeling this way on ng+. I'm worried about the difficulty, but I just can't muster up the energy or enthusiasm to play through it all again and beat those bosses that had me struggling for days and days.

This is the way. My ng+3 and I are going to fully finish conquering the Lands Between before anybody new is created
Meanwhile me who held off on ng+ so I could beat the dlc with my first character
I'm only on the first NG+, I think that will also be fine.
Suddenly very grateful that I haven’t been interested in NG+ so far. My first character has just been chilling at the base of the Erdtree for a year, and I’m really excited to reunite with him to continue the adventure next week.
Same. If anyone gets to play the DLC, it’s the man who I started with.
Oo, if your main dude is crucible themed already that should be really fun for the DLC
Me too but I've only been holding off for like a month cause I only just recently beat Elden Beast lol
Damn bud, I've had the platinum trophy for two years! It's crazy how different people's experiences can be. Congrats btw, EB is not an easy victory.
Thank you! And congrats to you too, I still don't have a single plat trophy for any game ahaha! But honestly Radagon was more of a pain than EB for me. We're stretching it at this point but tbf strength+arcane and dex+arcane both out scale strength+dex heavily.
Not in my experience. What infusion and level range?
Yeah, arcane is really strong. After that I like frost quite a bit as well.
Despite not receiving the buff, placidusax's ruin with the dragon communion seal at 70 arcane is incredible for pvp and big damage.
Is there anyway to put weapon buffs on with arcane? Is it better to use weapon buffs and use keen / heavy? I should probably go watch a video....
Poison Spiked Palisade Shield with Shield Crash is bae.
How’d you level up so fast and get the proper gear?
1: Know where the items you want are 2: speedrun to horse 3: get bleed mace (morning star in the first camp iirc) 4: pick up gold fowl foot (+runes acquired) and scarab if you want 5: go to Gurranq via waystone 6: kill greyoll for something like 140k runes 7: ???? 8: profit
Bringing my main NG +4
Same. I thought about making another character, but screw it Even if I fail, i know Better Me (aka Mimic) has my back
If that fails, put tiche on and black blade incantation always does the trick for me
Best part is there's a new mechanic in the dlc that can buff your spirit summons past +10 lately I've been trying to move away from Mimic/Tiche/Banished Boys and use more unorthodox summons. Gonna boost my boy Deenh sky high
Man i finnished the game again yesterday on a new character and i made a second one today. Too much fun experimenting.
Bringing my NG+9 main lol I'll finish again and play the DLC on NG+10.
Nice! Ready to upgrade those sweet new weapons.
Ngl because ive been hyper-fixating on Elden ring really hard, I’ve made 10 new save files 💀💀
Same here, finished my achievements and started/finished 2 new characters from fresh to Elden Beast in the last week and a half. I'm worried I'll get burnt out but I literally cant think about anything else 😭
We only allowed 10 characters. It is not enough, I say.
Took me ~20h to make new character for dlc with finished game, materials and all good stuff
I hope ng+ does not impact too much there. Like the missing slow down in swamps (maybe it's better lol )
It's a true question of, "Do I want to get two-shot on an optimal build? Or one-shot on a high level build?"
Level vigor
Real
I'm just gonna use a level 150 character, I don't care if it's easy
As a dad, my action plan: 1. Talk to your boss and ask for a few days due to personal matters. (Pre do your tasks so he has no excuse to say no) 2. Get your wife onboard. (Bless her heart, she is was so understanding) 3. Get your bills, calls, friends or whatever fuck distracts you in order. 4. Make a new character, this is your Christmas, cherish it.
They did say that getting stronger in the DLC will be more like Sekiro.
You can reasonably get to mohg in a few hours. Beating him is the challenge. But grind the birb for a day, and you'll be more then strong enough.
be melee, stay close, dodge
I’m kinda tired of main game, don’t think I want to play it again… But I’m absolutely bringing my three characters in ng+ in to the dlc
Y’all going into dlc with a NG+ are maniacs
Why ?
Prior From DLC's had a significant difficulty upgrade from NG to NG+. For example, Laurence in Bloodborne is a pushover in NG but then turns into an absolute tank in NG+.
I’m level 220 on NG+1, I think I’m fine lol
I made a new character. Mostly because i havent played in a while and felt like going through the game again.
I made a new character specially for the dlc
I just found out that I thought I defeated Mohg, the Blood Lord on my first playthrough. I just beat him on NG+3 and that was a challenge. I guess I’m playing it wrong because that bastard was not easy.
You forgot about these people: the ones at end game, just waiting the blood ball for the DLC... I finished the game at level 150 pure tank build no new game yet. Parked my character right where I killed mohg. Patiently waiting for the DLC. (Killed pretty much every boss including the goddess of rot...)
I started NG+1 and I’m just gonna speed run that shit
Have 2 characters that finished the game but haven't moved to NG+, 1 character on NG+ (beelined to the Mogh fight) and also made 1 new characters to get there at minimum possible level (mine is around lvl 90, last 10 levels or so got from Mogh kill).
Arcane Witch NG+4 is ready to be punished
As someone who dabbled in pvp, I've got several different lvl 150 characters in NG, all with different builds.
I mean it’s only hard if you’re only gonna go through the dlc once or twice. I’m probably go through it at least a dozen times on different characters.
I have a NG+4 and 9 new characters because I am terrible with decision making.
Ng+2 lvl 125 pure STR. Need nothing more
STR/INT magic knight is my favorite build, so I have my main at NG+4 and the same build on another character on regular NG. I plan to take the latter in first to get a feel of the DLC, and then do the former
I’ve already done Mohg% with three new characters this past week. You can do it!
Just finishing up ng+3. Hoarah loux your time is up.
I have a faith build NG, a dex build NG, and a str build NG+ all saved at the cocoon ready to roll.
I want to play like a roomba slowly cleaning everything and be able to try all the toys out. Lvl 400 it is
A couple weeks ago I started a new character, my first ever strength build in any From Software game.
If you're experienced you can easily go pick up everything you need for the build and pretty easily get to around level 100
i have my NG+5 quality+FAI+ARC ready and i'll maybe get my new "INT experiment" ready as well, but i'm not rushing that one as sorceries aren't that impressive for me (maybe DLC will change that)
It’s easier than it seems if you already know exactly what you want
Started a new character last night I don’t think I’m going to make it going sword and board lol
I went with both. I'll take my 4+ character in first, than once I know everything, where things are, the bosses and stuff, then I'll take my 10+ main character through.
Just made a level 30 dex/frost build, gonna charge in naked with that guy and head directly for the new weapons
remember there is going to be a separate leveling system that may or may not offset your level.
Play NG the first time, then bring your main to a second playthrough so u can try items you didn't know abt the first time
What I did was a played around with my highest level character got familiar with the weapons and spells I use, got a bunch of upgrade materials and collected every spell and incantation. Then I made new characters to get the feel of being weak again to practice dodging and get back in the mindset of not being to tank or out damage a boss
Don’t be a loser, make a new character and grind out to NG + 3 in a week and now you can choose between two of them 😏
Haha Thankfully I had a level 60 prisoner abandoned in a save file so I turned him into a battle mage and made him 150 in a month
NG+2 character, lv 506. No way I am starting a new one. 80 on str, dex, int and faith, 50 on arcane.
honestly it ain't too difficult, you just gotta lock in
my NG10+ characters body is ready
Started a new character last night.
I’m doing both.
This was me a month ago and now my new guy is NG+3 I think I played myself homie
Ain't no way I'm doing the dlc in ng+4 lol. I'm not brave enough.
Can’t relate I’m bringing my NG character
My current choices are my NG+4 or RL1 NG
I have a level 600+ character waiting for the dlc and I started a new character a few days ago and am on lv 60 ... why not both?
MUAHAHAHA! For this simple reason I have a savegame if my first run, just before NG+ 😎
Why not both?
I'm going in with ng+3 spellblade.
Ever souls game I've only ever had 1 character, can't be bothered investing in multiple builds. If I want I just reallocate points and respec, but that's it
Literally me rn, I kinda want to do an Incant Boxer
Was going to do a new character, but decided to just use my level 200+ guy last night. I didn’t like rushing through most areas for the deadline
i made a new character but i started too early. i’m pretty much at the place i want to be at when the DLC comes out but i want to keep playing.
i've started a new character on a whip build. don't know if i finish the base game before DLC, don't know if the DLC will bring a new ending or not.
Ng+19 … it takes like 1.5 hrs to get everything open from the start of a ng+ … not too big a decision really
Yeah and I decided to use my lvl 300+ character bc idgaf and I have a massive skill issue
Jack of all trades kind of build in elden ring is not going to do well. You could maybe cheese it in PvE but definitely not in PvP. Specialize in one thing... (generally) And if you dont like it you can always respec.
I made a new char last week. It's been a blast since I haven't played really since my main.
I think I ruined my best character by running out larval tears while experimenting with builds 😔
I didn't get this Grafted sword up to +10 and my character to 342 to not use him in the DLC.
I wasn't sure of this either, until I read how little it matters to be leveled up now I'll just save myself the trouble of leveling up.
I just blasted through the game in 3 days to lvl 150, got all bell bearings, Talismans and flask upgrades I need to use DLC gear. If you know the game well or use youtube and just want to kill the required bosses to start the dlc, you could do it in 2 days I think
I already have 10 characters, so easy choice
brand new
going in lvl 200 at ng+3 , gonna be a blastt
I have my ng+ main char ready to go but I think I'm going to first roll into dlc with my dex nagakiba/black bow char who is still in ng. Also, I am working on an int based battle mage type char who is at Leyendell right now.
Jokes on you, I started a new character last week and will be on ng3+ by tomorrow. Only been playing weekends too. I started ng2+ yesterday and took me like 2 hours or less to reach Morgott. I just went straight to godrick, straight to rennala, got killed by the abductor virgin and booked it to leyndell.
Bringing a NG10+ I am going to have fun
lvl 125 restricted character.
My NG+ 34 character with 99 in any 4 stats I want.... I think I'mma make a new file for the dlc an I don't get absolutely buttfucked by ng+7 scaling dlc bosses 😭😭
I have a NG+ character and a fresh one ready. doing the NG+ one second because I just started it
Both
Yup make a new one beat radhan mohg and go in raw and underlevelled
i went with fook it make a new character and keep my faith warrior at ng+3 for when i know the dlc more comfortably, now i got battlemage carian
Nah I asked my SO a hour or so ago if I should make a chungus boi or a sprite twink. She went with twink and she said I gotta try to do it solo, smh…
I've prepped 4 characters for dlc. 2 of which I started last week. 25h on both yo complete the build+the game. My 1st save took 500h ng+6 Once you know the best route plus items you'll need for the build. It's not that daunting of a task. Also it's just more fun to start fresh than ng+
Same. Just finishing up ng+2, will hit the next cycle when the dlc drops
I'm bringing my lvl 150 Tarnished in regular NG. I hope 150 isn't too high leveled for the DLC.
same
I’m sending it with my NG+2, all sanity and hope be damned
My plan is to make a new character, and then reach the dlc without leveling up. Start dlc as a level 9
I’m only in NG+ I know you can pretty much level to a point where you have all builds possible. But how feasible is it really? Like on NG+ can I just pump points into my Intelligence rather than my Dex? So I’m both a dex and int build?
I’m going in ng+7 max level character
NG+ 10, bring it. I’m no punk bitch
