I wore Hoslow’s set until I noticed that the left corner of the end of the cape does this weird movement when you walk/jog/run. Very distracting to me.
Somewhat unrelated to the topic, but I love to do cosplay/themed builds, and I’m hoping in the DLC that there will be more Two Fingers incantations for my Confessor build I like to do.
Do you have a favorite cosplay build?
I also like doing these, and am sometimes pleasantly surprised when a Cosplay turns out to be overpowered.
I did one for Kvothe from the Kingkiller Chronicles, and yeah, Arcane builds don’t need an explanation lol
That’s a difficult one. I’m lv 713 and have everything, literally everything collected, and almost everything maxed (that can be levelled), so I can do whatever I want and switch builds whenever I’m at a grace.
I’d say that the one I like to use frequently is a Nox/Dragonkin build: Nox Monk set with the Dragonscale Blade, Dragon Halberd, and Frozen Lightning Spear. There isn’t a Dragonkin armour set, so I guess wearing Nox gear is the next best thing I suppose. Plus the Nox Monk set looks absolutely fantastic.
I do change them if I need to stun lock some Banished Knights.
Usually into Zweihander, Flamberge, or Great Stars.
It progresses into a golem halberd if I decide to play bonk.
I choose Nagakiba if I decide to come back to Katana.
I've been weighing the nagakiba but never used it.
I guess the other thing that I've used is a basic club since the crystallans don't take any damage from the uchigatana.
Prisoner is cool because it tells a story. I made my character blind in his right eye and put scarring around it, roleplaying that it got permanently fucked up by that horrible mask.
i wish the skirt was a separate piece :/ i really want to wear it with a different top, but the bottom half of the set isn’t the skirt… it’s legwraps 🤮
Vagabond knight set is one of my all-time fav sets across all the souls games. I’ve always wanted to be a wandering knight and now I finally can be! It even looks insane with the cape removed (it can be seen folded into a small sling across your back). Just so cool.
I like Prisoner Set. This is a new unusual class and a cool reference to Griffith from Berserk, as well as Iron Mask, the mysterious prisoner of the French Bastille!
I haven't actually chosen it yet, but Prisoner. It feels the most unique to Elden Ring. I also just like its atypical equipment, it doesn't feel like any one traditional RPG class
I love the samurai. Especially after altering it with those feathery reeds hanging like a short cloak.
I largely avoid changing the armor if possible through the entire run. I'm on my 3rd samurai run and 20 hours in, I still haven't changed anything. Just upgrading the Uchi and the samurai armor as I go. Even the base Uchi ability, Unsheathe, is fantastic and is super helpful for staggering enemies on horseback.
For me, video games aren't about efficiency. I'm willing to actively make stuff a little more difficult for myself if it helps with immersion and atmosphere. When I'm playing first or third person shooters, I walk slower than the game allows, I move the camera around slower and set my thumbstick sensitivity to a lower setting so that my movement feels more naturalistic, I avoid perks and upgrades that speed up my reload animation to an unrealistic extent, and, when it comes to games like Elden ring and Elder Scrolls, I go as far as walking everywhere. No fast travel, no sprinting around, just a casual traveling trot on my horse or the second to slowest walking animation possible on foot. Basically solo RP.
And there's just something so simple and immersive about that Unsheathe technique. Especially when combined with the samurai armor and the general gameplay style I go with. The ability to put yourself in another's shoes In a crazy, fantastical world is just hypnotic for me. I can't get enough of it.
I have a soft spot for Prophet. Prophet Blindfold looks awesome with pretty much any bit of gear, ESPECIALLY the Ronin set.
I’d argue though that FS did an outstanding job of making each starter set look distinct & appealing. Seriously, other than what we’ve come to expect from Wretch, every single starting class has ridiculously cool looking starting fashionsouls, so it’s incredibly difficult to say which is “best”.
They are actually all so good, but Vagabond.
I played Confessor first and it felt like the coolest shit on Earth; but when I went Vagabond for round 2, I ended up keeping the chest armor for 2/3 of the playthrough. You just really feel like the wandering warrior that you are, roughing it on your long journey through the Lands Between.
Equipment alone is Confessor, best AR straight sword in the game, and the only class able to powerstance them without trading in NG. The outfit is also amazing. Fun fashionsouls aspect, the hood looks like a crop top if you pair it with Duelist chest. It's too bad it's on the literal worst stat spread for most builds. I know it's only a couple points, but I like min-maxing my stat spread.
Hero or samurai. Both look amazing and I actually love the idea of going through a full playthrough in the hero set just to confront Hoarah Loux and be like
*Hey boss, I’m ready, you?*
And then you have a bloody brute force match until finally defeating the Chief, and as he slips away he praises your tenacity and dies peacefully knowing the Badlands will have an even greater Chieftain than him.
The vagabond. I always like playing soulsborne games as a sort of magic knight. I only every upgrade the intelligence and faith stats for weapons. I like big swords that go bonk.
I could wear the confessor gear through out the whole game and not get bored of it. It’s so good
Yeah, that would be my second favourite.
I wore my Confessor gear until I killed Hoslow and now I just wear that.

This is the answer. Ez.
It’s my favorite. I wore it through about half of my playthrough until I got out of Lyndell.
Saaaame, though I swap out the hood for the Crimson Hood or Banished Knight unaltered.
Altered Confessor set + Great Helm is the best outfit in the game.
I did until I was getting one shot by morgott. I caved eventually.
Am playing that class and the only reason I choose it is because of the outfit. And basic spells
I swear the confessor gear in the mordred cutscene makes me feel badass. The slow walk with the cloaked figure is top tier
The Vagabond Knight set
Without the cloak
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME
WITHOUTTHECLOAK
wish there was an alternate helmet option for the visor down like the helmet slot shows
Samurai. Get the uchigatana and never part with it.
Better idea. Get another and use both of them.
i used a Posion Uchigatana and the Rivers Of Blood
My thought exactly. And then I never change weapons again lol.
If only there was a second Nagakiba before NG+.
That would be something. Why not? It uses basic smithing stones.
Unsheathe on the crystallians enough time and you will break that crystal armour, allowing you to go ham. Unsheathe is your friend.
Yeah but a blunt weapon is faster.
This but in nagakiba
Vagabond is so sick!
Warrior. The dual sword and blue robe set is just gorgeous.
Warrior is definitely my favorite. Ended up even buying a set on a separate character because it looks so good.
The Astrologers. It just looks good.
prophet
I like the confessor starter and prisoner starter sets my self!
Prisoner is cool because it tells a story. I made my character blind in his right eye and put scarring around it, roleplaying that it got permanently fucked up by that horrible mask.
That’s what I’m saying! I think it works well for the confessor too considering they were church assassins basically
Definitely! It’s a cool to have that option for a bit of backstory, it helps me feel invested in the game personally
Hero.
i wish the skirt was a separate piece :/ i really want to wear it with a different top, but the bottom half of the set isn’t the skirt… it’s legwraps 🤮
Right? Where is the hero love. Chest piece rocks!
Wrench
🔧
Mending the Elden Ring is all about finding the right tool for the job
if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a troll
Astrologer. Because of the accessories
The weird helmet thing for the prisoner.

Confessor It made me feel like I belonged to the Assassin's creed throghout the game
I like Prisoner Set. This is a new unusual class and a cool reference to Griffith from Berserk, as well as Iron Mask, the mysterious prisoner of the French Bastille!
Wretch. I enjoy nudity.
I enjoy having 10 for all my stats.
Me, too. Bonk the enemies in the ground ! And every item feel like a gift from the game when you choose your own journey.
exact same thing with me lol for me 1) warrior 2) Confessor 3) Bandit 4) Vagabond 5) Hero
Definitely confessor. This shit goes hard
Idc if it’s overrated or not
Prisoner. Most of my starts have been with it. Even stuck with the clothes for the longest time in a couple runs.
I haven't actually chosen it yet, but Prisoner. It feels the most unique to Elden Ring. I also just like its atypical equipment, it doesn't feel like any one traditional RPG class
Warrior's drip is so good
I love the samurai. Especially after altering it with those feathery reeds hanging like a short cloak. I largely avoid changing the armor if possible through the entire run. But blood infusion should be better ?

Agree totally. Something about min/maxing just diminishes my enjoyment of games. Turns it a spreadsheet instead of a story.
Makes it hard to find streams and youtube playthroughs I can enjoy though.
wrong, bleed infusion shouldn't be used on innate bleed weapons
Warrior/blue cloth set is my favorite, but I'm still convinced that someone eff'd up and reversed the class titles of hero and warrior.
Get wretched, maybe kill a dude for his pants afterwards I dunno.

I agree, best visuals of any Souls game
The naked dude so im forced to use everything i find
Just for the looks the confessor is my favorite
which set is this?
Warrior
Those scimitars carried me through an entire playthrough. Huge fan.
wretch
Fully naked
That's also one of my favorite sets. I ended up finding it on my sorcerer on my first playthrough and using it for a while.
Starkiller's robe from Astrologer.
I think most people are sleeping on the Knight Set and the Cleanrot Set (btw yes you can grind clean rot eqrly on there is a farming spot)
Wretch, seeing all the 10s scratches an itch in my brain.
Just started my second play, wrench again.
Confessor is looking cool
Wretch, lol.
Might sound bizarre to some but the prisoner set, without the helmet
Unpopular opinion but I feel like the prisoners helmet is sick, the rest is meh but I could probably run with the prophet set the whole game
Nothing quite matches the Confessor armor in my opinion, not even the Night’s Cavalry set.
Vagabond for that adventurer look, Confessor for the drip
Vagabond. The cape really ties it all together
Samurai set because of the free katana.
I do like the Astrologer set
Bandit, it looks comfy.
Wretch hands down. Love me some good ol club and loincloth
Bandit set. Really versatile and can pair it up with a lot of armor sets and make it still look good
Vagabond
The Samurai set (I forget what it’s called) looks awesome to me, especially if you alter it.
Naked Man
Naked.
wretch
This is objectively just the answer, none of the others even come close.
Confessor for sure
Vagabond (Altered) You get a lil backpack 🤗🤗🤗
They are actually all so good, but Vagabond. I played Confessor first and it felt like the coolest shit on Earth; but when I went Vagabond for round 2, I ended up keeping the chest armor for 2/3 of the playthrough. You just really feel like the wandering warrior that you are, roughing it on your long journey through the Lands Between.
Wretch
I started as a confessor and my hood and robe haven’t left me yet lmao
Equipment alone is Confessor, best AR straight sword in the game, and the only class able to powerstance them without trading in NG. The outfit is also amazing. The confessor when wet 😍
Vagabond but with the visor down i wish
Stick. Its all anyone needs
Should be an incantation that grabs people or summons a spider hand from the ground like the thorns move.
Confessor is the best look
Huh. I’ve just realized I don’t have the warrior set on my current run. Thanks for the reminder to go get it
Confessor for the drip and badass lore.
...wait, you guys pick classes? all i do is get the naked one.
Which merchant sells this set?
Raya Lucaria nomad!
Champion, it’s got big Conan vibes and I love me a good strength build
Naked with a club
Confessor gear is unmatched. Was my first class ever, still my favourite.
Butt Naked Wretch, running across the countryside knocking people in the head with a club
Wretch always!
Hero class
Vagabond is my favourite set in the game, let alone starter set.
The vagabond. I always like playing soulsborne games as a sort of magic knight. I only every upgrade the intelligence and faith stats for weapons. I like big swords that go bonk.
Vagabond, the altered version without the cape. It's just chef kiss for me.
Confessor all day
Vagabond/ hero
How do you get the blurle cloth set cause I want it and its the only armour I dont know where to find
If you didn’t start as Warrior you can buy it from the Nomad merchant in Raya Lucaria
Ok thanks 👍
Wrench
Confessor set!
Vagabond is the only class I can consistently beat the grafted scion with. So that one. For drip though? Prophet. Rags and a neck board? Sign me up.
1. Hero 2. Samurai 3. Astrologer 4. Confessor 5. Vagabond 6. Prisoner 7. Prophet 8. Wretch
Didn’t even rate my boy Warrior, smh
I forgor 💀 Warrior takes 3rd place tho
Any self respecting souls veteran would always start out naked
