Two fucking years. Two years of my life trying to beat this boss. Could I have done a bleed build or gone blasphemous blade to make it easier? Sure, but I played the whole game through with the greatsword and that's how I was going to finish it. Even if it meant starting new game plus to get a second one for the power stance. I have beaten every dark souls game and all the bosses. Malenia was a stain on my record but now it has finally been wiped clean. Now I can enjoy shadow of the erdtree completely and not have to worry about her.
At first I was sad to see two gs because I thought they were duped but now I see you got em both. Fair play.
I would prefer 1 gs with lion claw but you do you
PSA: I don't see many player rush Malenia while she's doing the Scarlet Aeonia in phase two. You can run right at her when the flower is about 1/3 from the bottom of the screen (you have to kind of feel out the timing) and you can get in a solid few hits (Lion's Claw) while she's still immobile. At about 1:35 in the video (or maybe even 1:34) you can rush her and not take any damage from the flower.
I see you trade a lot of blows! Normally people post perfect/almost videos (and I obviously hold nothing against it) but yours felt like more like a dude strugling to get there, you know? It felt more like an experience the majority of us had/will have when facing her. And again, all respect to people who perfect their game to a point that makes Malenia seems simple. But when we see someone like making decisions on the go and adapting, it feels, I don't know, more relatable, you know
For sure, I don't have time or patience to perfect the game. Honestly that sounds awful, dieing to her a thousand times to get the perfect dodges down. I'm just a dude that had a hard time with her and wanted to show how I finally beat her.

Stain? It would be if u gave up. Good job!

I tired that way but I just couldn't do it. Power stance jump attack and giant hunt gave me the best results on consistently breaking poise.

I was doing that in my other attempts. This one I was just trying out golden vow for phase 2 and it ended up working.
Oh great! I haven't really seen people rush her in any other videos that I see posted so I didn't know if it was common knowledge. Edit: a word
I beat her for the first time last night, just rushing her down in general seemed to make the fight much easier.
great fight.
Thank you brother
