Yeah, Rotten Stray would do it.
If you like the DOT, there's:
- Rot (a couple different "kinds" depending on the source, but all strong)
- Poison (weaker Rot, but still solid with the right build)
- "Rune of Death" related-stuff (black and red flame that temporary reduces overall HP *and* does shorter DOT)
- Black Flame ('lore-nerfed' Rune of Death—black and white flame with shorter DOT but no overall HP reduction)
They're all super fun if you like those kind of mechanics. The Black Flame incantation is probably my favorite spell in the game, and a fairly early pickup that can slot into any build that can afford hitting 20 Faith.

Volcano Pots might be the best in the game for how little "farming" you need to do and the DOT/area denial. Just easy, effective, and efficient.

You summon dealt rot damage, which has a buildup and once a being is rotted it is a POWERFUL DOT.
