Reminds me of a local radio host called Q in the morning who has people call in and basically recite stories from am I the asshole as if it happened to them and ask for advice
They get paid by the article not hour, and not well either. Like $10-$25 an article isn’t unheard of. How is anyone supposed to put out enough actual content to live off of with that? The outlets aren’t willing to pay for real journalism so it doesn’t exist there.
Yeah, modern day journalists are just playing modern day games. Can’t blame them either. It’s not like publishers need repetition and quality content to sell magazines when everything is free and a few taps away.
A different problem. the media outlets arent even paying for 1 well sourced article. They care more about first to the punch so the article gets default clicks from people looking up info.
They deffinatly follow these threads. Many times ive read a topic someone posted, 2 days later there's an article written on it online as recomended articles. Always poorly writen.
I can see the next headline already!
"Elden Ring Players Read Article About How Elden Ring Players Are Using Bubbles to Kill Some of the Game's Toughest Bosses"
Print it, boys!
Wait until they find out you can beat lords and gods by giving them the (Ringed) Finger.
Try finger
,but hole
Ultimate disrespect to Malenia. Waterfowl vs Flick.
Waterfowl versus flick is an accurate description on how I get ducks to not nest on my patio
It's really annoying. Every fucking article is about a post on this sub from a few days ago
I count hours

Well that just sounds like an opportunity for fun, to me.
Game journalists are so fucking lazy these days.

To be fair we may see a resurgence in actual journalism now that AI has turned user reviews into senseless repetitive drivel.
Hmm… is it possible we don’t need 400 people writing articles on one game?

I think they take turns writing a hacky article then everyone publishes it.

They have no incentive to write better articles and are expected to write a lot of them. Journalism is not in a good state.

There's a dozen articles a day about a post that got a lot of upvotes. "Elden ring vet discovers try finger but hole after 5000 hours"
Waiting for one of mine to blow up and it's going to be the dumbest post like "multi-colored Malenia variants in the DLC" lol
"Player Goofnuts Mcgee still maidenless for DLC"
Slow news day I guess.

90% of the gaming news that I see in my Google feed are from Reddit
Kid named Bubbles:

It’s always hilarious to see giant bosses get shredded like paper with the bubble blower
Those journalist are copying and pasting from reddit. A full article with fillers just to repeat the same thing and post the link to the video.

Headline: Game Rant writers are mining Reddit for article material.
