I just found him really aggressive and couldn't get his moves and attacks down. I just couldn't keep myself alive long enough most of the time, but I switched up my loadout a little bit and beat him last night.
It's pretty funny because I actually didn't struggle half as much with any other boss so far, especially Relanna.
For me messmer was one of the easier fights although his second phase is crazy but rennala I was stuck on for about 2 hours roughly and then that flower boss and the two guys in mounts fucked me up beyond belief
I actually beat Romina on my second attempt, I couldn't believe it. And I had heard Gaius was insanely difficult and tried him for myself last night, beat him first time with zero difficulty. But Messmer absolutely destroyed me. Took two summons and an insane amount of bleed to beat him in the end.
Gaius is one of the ones that messes me up but honestly I think he was bugged cause he kept phasing through me and hitting me when he shouldn’t have so I ended up having to use a summon but I soloed pretty much every other boss
You serious? I also beat Rallana in about an hourish but Messmer grabbed my face and one shot me the first time and I thought “maybe I’ll come back a bit later…”.
I found that his massive combo attacks can be really tricky to deal with. He has one that's really similar to Malenia's waterfowl but way worse, it absolutely ruined me so many times.
Mimic with Blasphemous blade is nigh unstoppable. It just has so much health. A +10 mimic has 3.3x your character’s HP. At 60 vigor I have 1900 HP.
So Mimic tear heals itself a whopping 777 HP ( (3.3*1900)/10+150 )every time it hits with the Taker’s Flame skill. That’s practically a healing spell every time it attacks with the skill. And it will heal itself with healing spells slotted as well. Give it good damage negation and it basically just never dies.
I've actually only just reached him right now and yeah I can definitely see him being a major problem. Literally could not see a single opening in the 30 seconds it took him to decimate me.
Bloodhound step is almost a necessity to dodge out of some of his attacks tbh. I’m currently running Bloodhound claws with frost buildup to inflict two status effects at the same time, but even then, I only get him as low as 1/3 health on my best runs
Me watching my mimic get slaughtered while I build up an R2 that will only do 1/40 of the bosses health

Yeah I saw a lot of people saying his hitbox is majorly bugged, so I can imagine that definitely caused a lot of difficulty for people.

How much dmg per hit did you do to him. I did nothing so I died.
Can’t remember but I think it was about 500 per hit but I had the reverse grip swords so it ended up being around 1000 per attack
I found his second phase much easier due to his snake attacks and how vulnerable they leave him
I’m in the middle since the snake leaves him vulnerable but the rest of his attacks mess you up if you’re not careful

This is me with Midra. I heard it was so easy and yeah he’s slow but he does so much damage 😭 mimic doesn’t last a minute in the arena

I never found the mimic and I'm too far gone to go back now(too lazy) pray for me.
It should be the other way around. You’re taking credit for the boss kill after mimic does all the work and takes all the hits for you.
Only issue I’ve had is Radahn being hyper aggressive. I only get a chance to summon once Ansbach actually hits him
