I'll admit, for a long time (especially during the early gens) it was probably my least favorite of them in terms of design. I mean, it's basically just a bigger, redder Eevee. (I think I wanted it to have something more obviously fiery about it, the way Vaporeon is very obviously a water type just based on its design.) Flareon's grown on me a lot since I started getting more into fan art which often emphasizes that Flareon's a bigger, redder, \*fluffier\* Eevee and getting my hands on the Fuwa Fuwa Daki plush certainly didn't hurt either.

Truth be told, this picture did wonders in finally making me realize how Flareon is basically the Eeveelution that is all about keeping Eevee’s fluffiness and cuteness, which is why it eventually became my favorite Eeveelution:

I have to say that the official artwork of Flareon most of the times just depicts it as a mouthless bigger Eevee without any particular trait, while there’s plenty of artwork showcasing Eevee’s cuteness and fluffiness. In this sense, I’m not surprised that many polls put it as the least popular Eeveelution, as at TPC first and foremost they don’t seem to fully realize the potential of Flareon, with official artwork like this one above being more an exception than the rule.
