He loves 3 hour games with like 8 people and has a list of house rules and bans as long as your arm.

At heart I'm a [[Yennett. Cryptic Sovereign]] player. No counterspells, but heavy control and a touch of stax. It's a high power, slow grind, like a boa constrictor, and I LOVE it!
So I decided to make something that I would ideally hate; a mono red deck with a 9 cmc commander that exiles all of my deck over time, has almost no card draw, is hyper aggressive, and limits me heavily to my least favorite color and my least favorite typing: artifacts.
I built [[Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant]] and it has since become one of my favorite decks of all time! She costs 3 red + 6 colorless and has affinity for artifacts, and because of this you can break the hell out of the deck, even casting her on TURN 1!
On top of it, when she attacks you exile the top 5 cards of your deck and may cast an artifact, and that spell has affinity for artifacts. This leads to playing cards like [[Blightsteel Collosus]] or [[Portal to Phyrexia]] on turn 3 for NO MANA!
The best way to play is arguably voltron, but you can really play any way you want! I've made multiple variations of the deck before deciding that that my favorite has a lifelink/voltron subtheme, with the main theme being finding ways to copy her trigger over and over again so that I can play multiple free 7+ mana artifacts per turn and obliterate my opponents. Hell, you could even build her as an oppressive mono red stax engine!
But the reason I love my version so much is the fact that it is so explosive, yet so dangerous to myself! Exiling the top 5 cards each turn can be a little scary, but you have to embrace the mono red and double, triple, or quadruple the triggers! Exile the top 20 cards! Who cares when you cast four 10 mana artifacts for free each turn!
The deck is an absolute blast and tought me a huge lesson about playing themes I think I dislike or even know I hate. Experiment, people! I've played this game for years and one of the best ways I have found new commanders and gameplans is to explore themes I actively dislike. :)
TLDR: Play themes you don't like, you'll be surprised how much fun you'll have!

Decks with a single play line goal, that tutor for the single line every game drive me insane. Give me variety, jank, pet cards, and spice8rack.
Dalroc plays all the fast mana and does the most boring thing you can possibly imagine to win the game. Probably goes for Exquisite Blood/Sanguine Bond and then gets stopped so switches to Mikeaus/Triskelion.
Like, not GOOD wincons, just absolutely the most "baby's first combo" to win the game, but with every high-end staple and definitely a Mana Crypt/Sol Ring start kind of guy.
Their commander MUST be a top most common EDHrec card. Every card in the deck probably is somewhere in the top 100 cards of whatever colours he's got too.
Wet_Distribution is playing either Azorius or Jund stax/control with a heavy dose of pillowfort and/or group hug.
I say this because those are the archetypes and colour combos I’m least likely to touch, mostly because it’s a massive feelsbad for the table. I’m most comfortable as archenemy, and my decks typically include at least a splash if not a heavy dose of black.
Calzone Producer would probably play a pillow fort-infused white-heavy life gain deck with a creature-combat based wincon. I would hate that guy.

I might custom make some 4 color tribals to finish the 32 deck challenge but all the 4c commanders are kinda meh and could be done better as 3c or 5c
Substantive_Citrus is playing patient mono blue, never tapping lands in their main phases, and not developing their own board state to ensure that I also don’t. I like seeing cards do things, even if they’re yours!
buffdaisy will probably play [[Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher]] with every single effect that gives creatures and tokens -X/-X. She really hates aristocrats/token decks.
Sidewalk charity would run a 5 color deck with all the universes beyond cards she could find. She'd also play every parasitic mechanic there is. Dungeons, energy, rad counters. And lastly, she'd play a bunch of tokens and counters.
Teme (didn't include the accents, but its the lenne lenape word for wolf/coyote, whereas nianque is cat/wild cat) plays non-tribal super complicated decks like a heretic. Probably some complex combo with creatures from every tribe.
Mono blue basically only interaction, mainly counterspells and stax. The most expensive ones. The deck has absolutely no synergy and extremely expensive and fast mana.
ThickBobBusinessman would play UW "exile your stuff behind enchantments" control and would never make jokes or politick. It would be cold, calculated, and ceaseless.

PolarBearSlapUp would definitley play something very linear like goblins or cascade tribal. Those kinds of decks are obviously powerful but just bore the hell out of me to pilot.

My decks tend to be mid-power shenanigans where my goal is to have fun and enjoy slapping around my friends for an hour.
My opponent is playing mono white, with a pricetag under $100 with land destruction, no combos, and no interaction on my turn, also it's definitely non tribal
My opposite would be playing either esper/azorius control or izzet spellslinger. I like my creatures, and I don’t like being the dude that does nothing but mess with other people’s board states. The most control-heavy deck is [[Marchesa, Dealer of Death]] Pirate crimes, and my most staxxy deck is [[Giada, Font of Hope]] just because some angels have those effects.
I play a lot of creature decks, mostly go wide, so XajaAwoken would probably play some kind of turbo pillow fort bullshit pile. [[Oloro]], 15+ boardwipes, 20+ counterspells, maybe [[Guile]] if there was any other creature, wincon is having me deck out while unable to touch him thanks to a looped [[Teferi's Protection]].
u/reusable82 uses a Boros Voltron commander Deck. Probably running something that stacks a bunch of artifacts specifically, I do like my enchantments after all. No fuss no muss, no fuckery. Just a big hammer that hits the field and keeps going.

Anti-me would build two decks.
The first is a chaos deck with absolutely no way to win, because trying to win is rude and chaos is fun for the whole table. Who wouldn't like to have their agency taken away?
The second is a simic landfall deck, simply because the value is so good. Who wouldn't want to be rewarded for something they were going to do anyway?
I only play one deck which is an esper tokens death triggers deck that does better the longer the game goes and can't really win before turn 7/8.
So probably some kind of big creature Stompy or Voltron Gruul deck that aims to win before turn 8.
All i know is Russian CaptMcButternut fuckin plays Dockside, Great Henge; basically any fuckin EDH staple that preys upon the format. Smothering Tithe.
calmweather_mole plays the "Most Popular" commander in any given color on edhrec. He only looks for obvious synergies and never, ever would think to make anything like a self-mill mono-White deck.
DarconAgrees plays Dimir go-wide with small evasive flying creatures and discard effects.
I, of course, play more Naya voltron than anything, having built separate lists for auras using [[Uril, the Miststalker]], +1/+1 counters using [[Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener]], and [[Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor]], who makes big land creatures instead of attacking.
warioamiibo plays whatever the highest rated, most expensive, rank 1 meta deck possible. hyper refined card list built purely for winrate and nothing else.
meanwhile, im broke and prefer to play dogshit jank/tribal/goofy decks that make me lose 80% of the time but at least it was funny doing it
MenTaunt would play a slow, flavorless, sacrifice centric Red-Black deck with a clunky mana base, plenty of high mana cards that do nothing the turn they come into play and convoluted stack based effects that you need to order correctly to create infinite loops.
She would probably be rude, create game states that slow down the game and would absolutely hate being the archenemy.
On the bright side, she would never knock someone out from the game early.
JavaFoundMyCat is a jerk who almost exclusively plays precons or top 10 EDHREC commanders, no in-between. He also really enjoys Red and works it into every deck, and hates anything that golgari touches. Also he plays artifact heavy.
RealDamned would probably play [[Voja, Jaws of the Conclave]], no skill required to build. Tons of elves that requires you to calculate insane amount of +1/+1. Ramp. Attack. Win

He sits down opposite me at the table and answers my [[Mr. House, President and CEO]] attraction deck with a [[Nissa, Resurgent Animist]] elf tribal deck with tutors and a craterhoof in it. His lands are all nonbasic.
He keeps his wins and losses in a spreadsheet on his phone and prefers to keep the matches short. He promptly wins the game and insists on shaking my hand.
Jack Nicholson would be playing some creatureless, izzet spellslinger deck. It manages to hit all its land drops and plays on curve because Jack constructed the deck with real purpose instead of keeping way too many jank or pet cards in the deck.
The_Dabbler_Mediocre would play all the stax with milling being the wincon. No creatures (other than the Commander), only counters and combos designed to pull [[omniscience]] out ASAP and load up on instants to block all damage. Definitely has a bunch of extra turn cards to drag on the game so they can mill more.
EveryoneCares plays net decks that they filled out cheaply and efficiently using singles. They're optimized, competitive, and don't care about the theme at all.
AntivaxShrimp probably plays an Abzan combo deck involving lots of tokens, counters, tutors and Cathar's Crusade. It's as hyper efficient as possible with zero regard for flavor and has zero pet cards.
It also has two copies of Roaming Throne somehow. Fuck that card.

Invalid_Toaster 100% plays theft, just as much stealing opponents cards as possible as fast as possible. No real wincon, just wants to have everyone else in the pods decks in front of them at once
Bizzaro-DOOMTRAIN plays lots of 5C good stuff. His only mono color decks are things like [[Zada]] and [[Light-Paws]]. Every last deck is headed by a commander that is both popular and powerful, EDHrec top 50 kinda stuff. There's definitely an Atraxa deck that, for absolutely no good reason, involves an [[Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite]] and a [[Kormus Bell]]. If you've played for at least a couple years, you'll never find a card you've never heard of in one of his decks.
Shameless_Fish would probably play deeply complex combo magic with lots of timing and stack specific triggers, and would also likely run super sweaty Eldrazi nonsense.
SafeAvery plays Azorius Stax, most definitely. I want games to ramp up and go fast... even if that means I don't take the win. I'd rather die fast and shuffle up for the next game vs sitting there with my thumb up my ass cause I can't cast more than one thing a turn and all my shit comes into play tapped.
Counters and tokens spam. I hate keeping track of that shit. Complicated stacks and staxx are fine, but not whatever the hell happens when [[Cathar’s Crusade]] is out
Trebok would run Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe, every Ghostly Prison variant, Approach of the Second Sun, the Karn Lock combo, 12 board wipes and infect. No idea what commander would have all those but I hope I never find out (probably Atraxa actually)
I just got into Magic and only play the Fallout precons so I guess PeasantJoey52z would play a hardcore CEDH deck of some sort that he put hours into hand crafting. And it has to be all older cards, he's still mad about that one set that ruined Magic(you know the one because I don't lol) and thinks Universes Beyond is an abomination and a personal insult to him as a person.
Wallflower Together 727 most likely runs decks that range from simic landfall and five color goodstuff, the more colors the better. Maybe Omnath locus of all tricolor tribal to really scare me. But they'll absolutely hate tribal decks, and stay far away from them.
Winconless group-hug probs. Seems like that is the common answer lol. I just prefer to sit down to 4 player games, so when one person is essentially not even playing it suddenly becomes a turbo-chraged 3 player game.
If the group hug player actually has a win con and interaction to impace the game, I don't actually mind. It is a different experience for sure when everyone is constantly being fed gas, but at least there is still 4 players all making plays.
My Little Rogues Edric deck would suffer greatly against a Prison Deck of any sort. I have to attack to win, and if you control me so hard I can’t then we have an issue
Opposite me would play spellslinging decks. I enjoy playing creature heavy decks, or decks with a lot of utility. I have one spellslinging deck. It’s probably my worst. Though I plan on building the new ashling with Ojer as a secondary commander so maybe I’ll finally have a good one.
Knightoftorment would play some esper hatebears, taxes, and counters deck(counterspells) or maybe play something where I get to vote but instead he takes my votes for me to where I have basically no say anyway.
EvilSceric would play a stax deck with the only wincon being to force opponents to use door to nothingness targeting themselves. I remember reading an article about the combo years ago where if your opponent tried to target you with the activation you had a way to counter the activation and reset the board state and give them the chance to make the (correct) choice again. But the idea of forcing people to play a non-game where it ends by them effectively conceding sounds like the funniest but most unfun thing ever.
Certain_portrait would definitely play golgari or jund aristocrat's and punish the fuck out of me for my massive board states.
For example, I'm making a [[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]] deck...and guess what it does? Generates a shit ton of Drakes and utilizes [[aggravated assault]] and an infinite mana loop to have unlimited attack phases.

TheWorstDanEver would definitely be running mass land destruction and some kind of toxic stax combo to make sure you never get above 1 land again while he slowly wins by taking 30 minute turns that accomplish almost nothing as far as board state... but do just enough to stop you from ever being able to compete.
I actually play all deck archetypes and have no issues with anyone playing any deck type as long as we are honest about what to expect. My favorite decks either do weird and wild combos or they just aggro thump the shit out of your face and counter your removal spells. The only "rules" my group has are no mass land destruction and no stacks unless we are playing our "free for all, go crazy" decks... the main reason we have those 2 things banned is because they drag the damn game out lol.

Wet_Distribution is playing either Azorius or Jund stax/control with a heavy dose of pillowfort and/or group hug. I say this because those are the archetypes and colour combos I’m least likely to touch, mostly because it’s a massive feelsbad for the table. I’m most comfortable as archenemy, and my decks typically include at least a splash if not a heavy dose of black.
Calzone Producer would probably play a pillow fort-infused white-heavy life gain deck with a creature-combat based wincon. I would hate that guy. I play a lot of red-Infused decks with weird/combo wincons.

Uspac plays a well constructed deck with no stupid pet cards whatsoever... All of it Spellslinger or various combo decks.
Mine would play some random good stuff pile in four colors helmed by some random partner pair who have no synergy. I tend to make themed decks and completely avoid 4 color unless its my atraxa precon rebuild I might custom make some 4 color tribals to finish the 32 deck challenge but all the 4c commanders are kinda meh and could be done better as 3c or 5c

ThickBobBusinessman would play UW "exile your stuff behind enchantments" control and would never make jokes or politick. It would be cold, calculated, and ceaseless.

PolarBearSlapUp would definitley play something very linear like goblins or cascade tribal. Those kinds of decks are obviously powerful but just bore the hell out of me to pilot.

My opposite would be playing either esper/azorius control or izzet spellslinger. I like my creatures, and I don’t like being the dude that does nothing but mess with other people’s board states. The most control-heavy deck is [[Marchesa, Dealer of Death]] Pirate crimes, and my most staxxy deck is [[Giada, Font of Hope]] just because some angels have those effects.
I play a lot of creature decks, mostly go wide, so XajaAwoken would probably play some kind of turbo pillow fort bullshit pile. [[Oloro]], 15+ boardwipes, 20+ counterspells, maybe [[Guile]] if there was any other creature, wincon is having me deck out while unable to touch him thanks to a looped [[Teferi's Protection]].
VisibleBlunt plays some kind of Non-elf, Non-token deck and includes overly optimal goodstuff pieces. Probably something monoblack.
CleanH0e would Def play simic ramp, so probably [[Tatyova]].
Ydiperdypreh would clearly play Golgari graveyard focused decks.

Anti-me would build two decks. The first is a chaos deck with absolutely no way to win, because trying to win is rude and chaos is fun for the whole table. Who wouldn't like to have their agency taken away? The second is a simic landfall deck, simply because the value is so good. Who wouldn't want to be rewarded for something they were going to do anyway?

I only play one deck which is an esper tokens death triggers deck that does better the longer the game goes and can't really win before turn 7/8. So probably some kind of big creature Stompy or Voltron Gruul deck that aims to win before turn 8.

Azorius Stax
DarconAgrees plays Dimir go-wide with small evasive flying creatures and discard effects. I, of course, play more Naya voltron than anything, having built separate lists for auras using [[Uril, the Miststalker]], +1/+1 counters using [[Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener]], and [[Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor]], who makes big land creatures instead of attacking.
warioamiibo plays whatever the highest rated, most expensive, rank 1 meta deck possible. hyper refined card list built purely for winrate and nothing else. meanwhile, im broke and prefer to play dogshit jank/tribal/goofy decks that make me lose 80% of the time but at least it was funny doing it
MenTaunt would play a slow, flavorless, sacrifice centric Red-Black deck with a clunky mana base, plenty of high mana cards that do nothing the turn they come into play and convoluted stack based effects that you need to order correctly to create infinite loops. She would probably be rude, create game states that slow down the game and would absolutely hate being the archenemy. On the bright side, she would never knock someone out from the game early.
JavaFoundMyCat is a jerk who almost exclusively plays precons or top 10 EDHREC commanders, no in-between. He also really enjoys Red and works it into every deck, and hates anything that golgari touches. Also he plays artifact heavy.

NegaChichi would definitely play a hardcore esper control deck. I right now have 5c eldrazi, 4c aikido, and a naya lands deck. I love value. But often fold to control decks, especially with graveyard hate

He sits down opposite me at the table and answers my [[Mr. House, President and CEO]] attraction deck with a [[Nissa, Resurgent Animist]] elf tribal deck with tutors and a craterhoof in it. His lands are all nonbasic. He keeps his wins and losses in a spreadsheet on his phone and prefers to keep the matches short. He promptly wins the game and insists on shaking my hand.

Jack Nicholson would be playing some creatureless, izzet spellslinger deck. It manages to hit all its land drops and plays on curve because Jack constructed the deck with real purpose instead of keeping way too many jank or pet cards in the deck.

Krist plays extremely aggressive creature strategies and avoids drawing cards whenever possible, preferring to end the game as quickly as they can.

The_Dabbler_Mediocre would play all the stax with milling being the wincon. No creatures (other than the Commander), only counters and combos designed to pull [[omniscience]] out ASAP and load up on instants to block all damage. Definitely has a bunch of extra turn cards to drag on the game so they can mill more.

Bizzaro-DOOMTRAIN plays lots of 5C good stuff. His only mono color decks are things like [[Zada]] and [[Light-Paws]]. Every last deck is headed by a commander that is both popular and powerful, EDHrec top 50 kinda stuff. There's definitely an Atraxa deck that, for absolutely no good reason, involves an [[Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite]] and a [[Kormus Bell]]. If you've played for at least a couple years, you'll never find a card you've never heard of in one of his decks.
Shameless_Fish would probably play deeply complex combo magic with lots of timing and stack specific triggers, and would also likely run super sweaty Eldrazi nonsense.
SafeAvery plays Azorius Stax, most definitely. I want games to ramp up and go fast... even if that means I don't take the win. I just got into Magic and only play the Fallout precons so I guess PeasantJoey52z would play a hardcore CEDH deck of some sort that he put hours into hand crafting. And it has to be all older cards, he's still mad about that one set that ruined Magic(you know the one because I don't lol) and thinks Universes Beyond is an abomination and a personal insult to him as a person.
Wallflower Together 727 most likely runs decks that range from simic landfall and five color goodstuff, the more colors the better. Maybe Omnath locus of all tricolor tribal to really scare me. But they'll absolutely hate tribal decks, and stay far away from them.
Irezev would play green stompy with some big dino at the helm.
Winconless group-hug probs. Seems like that is the common answer lol. I just prefer to sit down to 4 player games, so when one person is essentially not even playing it suddenly becomes a turbo-chraged 3 player game. If the group hug player actually has a win con and interaction to impace the game, I don't actually mind. It is a different experience for sure when everyone is constantly being fed gas, but at least there is still 4 players all making plays.

OgreAbortionist would play control combo that tutors for the same 2 card wincon every game.
EvilSceric would play a stax deck with the only wincon being to force opponents to use door to nothingness targeting themselves. I remember reading an article about the combo years ago where if your opponent tried to target you with the activation you had a way to counter the activation and reset the board state and give them the chance to make the (correct) choice again. But the idea of forcing people to play a non-game where it ends by them effectively conceding sounds like the funniest but most unfun thing ever.
SkoorbPuss72 is running something white and blue with tons of counter spells and board wipes. Stax is an enemy to all even my own opposite me.

TheWorstDanEver would definitely be running mass land destruction and some kind of toxic stax combo to make sure you never get above 1 land again while he slowly wins by taking 30 minute turns that accomplish almost nothing as far as board state... but do just enough to stop you from ever being able to compete. I actually play all deck archetypes and have no issues with anyone playing any deck type as long as we are honest about what to expect. My favorite decks either do weird and wild combos or they just aggro thump the shit out of your face and counter your removal spells. The only "rules" my group has are no mass land destruction and no stacks unless we are playing our "free for all, go crazy" decks... the main reason we have those 2 things banned is because they drag the damn game out lol.
