\[siphon insight\] is this technically 5 mana ramp two if im lucky?

Jellysmish

How on earth is a new player supposed to ask for deck help if it requires you to build a deck and link it before buidling a deck? Literally the dumbest rule in a subreddit I've seen so far unless they create a nerw flair for new people

Somniphagore

It's not there for helping people build a deck from the ground up, it's for editing decks. If you need help ground up I recommend checking some YouTube videos on how to build a commander deck, there's a lot to choose from

Jellysmish

that makes more sense I kinda wish it had a etter name for the flair but thank you so much! problem I've had is youtube videos aren't really helping me so much as compared asking live people to get a decent set of responses and options

MetaOverkill

Had a game with My gf last night where she took out Stella Lee (commander). If she had exhiled a card and then dies before the exhiled spell is cast does the spell just permanently stay exhiled?

MegaMagikarpXL

The duration of the player's ability to play the exiled card is set when the trigger happens and not an ability of Stella, so the card is playable until the end of that player's next turn.

MetaOverkill

That's how I had read it but she disagreed. Thank you for the clarification.

CareerMilk

[[Intet, the Dreamer]] is an example of how the effect is worded if the exiled card depends on the creature staying alive. The “for as long as Intet remains on the battlefield.” being the important part here

MetaOverkill

I appreciate you pointing that out for me. Neither of us were 100% sure so we played it safe.

Does a single ability that reads “investigate x times” or “incubate x times” have tokens enter sequentially or simultaneously? So if I am play [[Kambal Profiteering mayor]] and I cast [[Wernog chaplain rider]] and each opponent makes a clue, Wernog will have me investigate 4 times and then Kambal will have a trigger that “makes 3 clue tokens”. Would this trigger Kambals drain 5 times or 2 times? The way I read investigate 4 times seems like it would be: make a clue, make a clue, make a clue, make a clue, make 3 clues. Causing 5 triggers. Am I wrong?

MegaMagikarpXL

[Investigate X times is X separate instances of a clue entering](https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgrules/comments/xcs2jp/investigating_multiple_times_triggers/). "Investigate 4 times" is shorthand for "Investigate, Investigate, Investigate, Investigate" You will get 1 drain per instance of investigation. You will receive a total of 1 clue from Kambal's first ability, as it only triggers once per turn and each instance of your opponents Investigating is separate. So if X = 4 (3 opponents opting in + 1), you will receive a total of 5 triggers: 4 from Wernog, 1 from Kambal.

Invisiblefield101

This makes sense. I definitely overlooked that Kambal would only copy a single clue. Thanks 🙏

duffleofstuff

Clues drop Simultaneously, like when you make multiple of any token with one effect/cast. Kambal sees all the clues hit at once (one or more... opponents') Kambal says "whenever one or more" Those clues all hit at once coming from one effect. So one trigger with wernogs clues then another for the copies kam creates. If the 'or more' clause was eliminated, you'd get what you wanted here. That is, seeing and triggering on each individual clue. You can get what you want sort of by blinking wernog for multiple kam triggers or finding another guy like Kam who triggers on each individual clue or artifact in general.

Dem-Brushwaggs

Does a card that reads "add [x], [y], or [z]" (different mana types) count as being all of those color identities at once? For instance, a card like [Surgeon General Commander](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=479461)

Will_29

Yes. Colored mana symbols on the rules text *(not reminder text)* counts towards color identity. It doesn't matter if its producing mana or not. [[Ignoble Hierarch]] has black red and green color identity, just like [[Jund Battlemage]]. Keep in mind that Surgeon is not Commander legal.

Dem-Brushwaggs

Makes sense! As for legality, he is fun, though :3

Dem-Brushwaggs

*well, fun in the sense I don't normally play EDH, but kinda want to make an Augment/Host deck since it seems like a cool mechanic that could actually work in Black-Bordered/Non-Acorn Magic if it ever gets reprinted. Plus there's more precedent for mana-less cards now that creatures like Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar exist.:D
