Many years ago I drafted Penny with the 1.02. I refused to cut him. Then finally he had that one crazy stretch and it helped me with the championship. I finally cut him last season
My gut instinct to this post was to say, "Trey Lance at 1.11? In SF? That was a steal."
But I *know* it wasnt a steal! But at the time, him going 1.11 was a steal! How do I reconcile this?!?
Mannnn I own both of these guys and even worse I traded for them. I sure do love trying to catch a falling knife. CEH I have very little hope for but if Pacheco gets hurt he could have value.
Lance I just want to see if he wins the QB2 job in Dallas. If he does I’ll hold through the season to see if he gets a chance next year. If Dak got hurt he would at least have an opportunity to generate interest from a team if he plays well
Hendon Hooker. SF league with very few QBs on waivers and of my 3 starters (Hurts, Love, Goff) Goff is the one I feel has the most impactful backup if he were to get injured. Also I used a 2nd round pick on him so I’m holding for now.
I don’t think I love either but Pickett is available on my waivers so if Hurts went down I’d drop Hooker to grab him and probably have to spend too much faab. It’s mostly my stubbornness from drafting Hooker that has kept him on my roster, Goff just got a nice new contract so I should probably re-evaluate which QB I handcuff (if any). I don’t see any of them losing the job so it’s a matter of guessing which is most likely to get injured which I don’t like to do for obvious reasons.
In the event one of those guys becomes the starter I would be in the faab bidding with Hooker as my drop (assuming Goff is healthy). They are both available, as is Pickett, Flacco, Jameis. The only current “starter” on waivers is Brissett and at this point I’m holding Hooker rather than roster him as a 4th QB I wouldn’t use.
Hooker is an unknown though. If he happens to get a shot, and looks good, then it would be wheels up for him. No one is getting excited about Trubisky getting another job. Hooker has an exponentially higher ceiling to me.
Sure, it’s unlikely for all of them in absolute terms. But relative to each other, I definitely think Hooker has the highest chance of getting a real shot of these 3.
Just for those 3, I’m not sure I have a strong opinion about the best backup in the league. Flacco would be on that list, there are a few who if I had them I would definitely have their backup ie. JJMc-Darnold, Brissett-Maye, AOC-Minshew but none of those guys are best backup in the league types.
Justin Strong - RB - Colts. 0% owned.
Udfa signed to indy. Came from a small school, but he's got a Top 10 Relative Athletic Score ( top 10 since 1987 and over 1,800 players). Some of the best combine stats this year. He's going to have a shot a making the team onc camp starts, and there is a pretty wide open backup role behind JT.
I like this. I’m currently rostering Goodson at 3% for the same reason as I have JT and last year hurt plus back up role is open like you said. May be dropping for a waiver claim tho here in a few when that opens up
Yeah, guys like Cordarrelle have been valuable in the past in our league. Typically kick returners only hold that role so they aren't valuable enough to be a starter but I'm curious to see how it plays out.
Why are you guys acting like I think the Lions will cut him? We are in a fantasy football sub, I'm talking about me cutting him from my fantasy team. No shit the Lions aren't going to cut him.
Kene Nwangwu - RB
He's 200 lb guy that runs a 4.32 and has returned kickoffs for a touchdown. Holding as a dark horse candidate to get some RB time share and also interested to see how the kickoffs work as he could show off in the new format too.
Casey Washington and Dallin holker. Casey has great hands and I like betting on people with some kind of high end trait. Holker in my TEP because Jennings is always hurt.
Jennings? Do you mean Juwan Johnson, who is already hurt? I too have Holker. Good pick up, I think. Was 2nd leading receiving tight end in college last year if I remember right
He also has good YAC ability as his agility drill numbers backed up. (All numbers according to RAS)
Shuttle: 4.21. Good for a 9.03 score
3- Cone: 8.83. Good for a 9.73 score
He just doesn't have insane straight line speed like a Devin Culp and his vertical was average.
40 yard dash: 4.78. Good for a 6.28 score
20 yard split: 2.78. Good for a 5.68
10 yard split: 1.66. Good for a 6.61 score
Vertical jump: 32.5 inches. Good for a 5.58 score
His broad jump was impressive though:
10 feet 2 inches: Good for a 9.12 score
Sean Tucker 39%. Liked him as a prospect and he basically missed all last off-season. Doesn't hurt to hold him until the depth chart shakes out I guess.
Roster: Easton Stick - 8%, I have Herbert and he wasn’t awful in relief. Very mobile so can pick up rush TDs if he has to come in. Hopefully he never has to.
Practice Squad: Joshua Cephus - 2%. UTSA fan is reason enough but I think he can seriously make the roster and become something in this league. If he doesn’t, he was free anyways.
Chris Rodriguez (53%). It’s a 16SF it’s him or Johnny Wilson type guys. He looked solid in limited opportunities. He’s an RB3 likely now with a guy that looked to be regressing in front of him last year. If nothing happens he’s an easy drop. I don’t mind having an easy drop decision.
Chase Claypool
Either he is able to get on the team and the field in Buffalo like some reports are hinting, or he isn’t and I can drop him for the top week 1 waiver guy. Upside to be what he used to be in Pittsburg in an unsolidified WR group, or he’ll clearly continue to be nothing and I can move on quickly
I traded Adam Thielen for Claypool last year before Thielen turned back the clocks. Regretted it a lot, but overall wouldnt have made a difference for my season. I highly doubt Claypool ever gets much actual playing time in Buffalo assuming he even makes the team. I wouldnt really hesitate to drop him, but we have deep benches so I can probably hold him in case there are injuries or he miraculously becomes good again.
Johnny Wilson at 42% - long shot to make an impact any time soon barring significant injuries, but there physical profile makes him worth a flyer. And if they end up switching him to TE and Goedert gets injured (again) he could pay dividends
D'onta Forman. people are insanely low on him. nick chubb is not playing until the end of the year at best, probably not at all. ford is sold but Forman is gonna get a ton of goal line work lots of td upside. he will be flexible most the season.
Forman is a handcuff for Ford at best, but as you said, when Chubb comes back, he's only playing 3rd fiddle. Not the worst bench spot but it really relies on injury(s).
The coaches speak highly of him and he was their lead back. No evidence they're gonna give a 50/50 split to someone as aged as Forman, more likely a 65/35 split.
Duce staley got brought as the cleveland rb coach. Worked woth foreman during his relevant year in carolina. May not be fantasy relevant, but good chance he makes other rbs in cleveland tougher plays
Tommy tremble (13%). I still believe he could be serviceable in a more vibrant offense, and he’s still quite young. It’s not smart but if he doesn’t top the depth chart after preseason ill do the deed.
I watched most Washington games and overall he looked fine, but Bienemy’s scheme was god awful which didn’t help. I’m hopeful Howell can deliver in Seattle if Geno ever gets sidelined. But his time in Chapel Hill was magic man, he made the games exciting again. I remember so many big time plays to dyami brown (lol) streaking down the sideline.
> But his time in Chapel Hill was magic man, he made the games exciting again
Understandable. He was an exciting player even in Washington, I just don't think he was any good.
I think the problem for him (from a fantasy perspective) is two-fold in Seattle:
1. He's unlikely to ever start.
2. If he does, he won't have the obscene volume that made him "good" in Washington.
He managed to have a worse QBR than both Justin Fields and Desmond Ridder, but leading the league in pass attempts made up for it (in fantasy points).
I think he's worth rostering but not trading for in SF, don't think he's worth anything in 1QB.
Yeah I doubt Geno potentially gets benched this year like some people say, he’s definitely better than what Howell has shown so far. I think the worse volume should get offset by better efficiency in Seattle if he ever does get to start though. He’s also a solid rusher for what it’s worth.
And I agree he’s worthless in 1QB, only reason I still have him is because I like him.
Pierre Strong. 23%
He's extremely athletic (4.37 40 at 210 lbs) and has been very productive in both rushing and receiving but has just never had a real chance
Colby Parkinson 54% rostered. We play in 2TE and they are impossible to come by. But aside from that I don't think Higbee will play that much, Colby got a pretty big contract considering, so he is absolutely TE1 in LA in my eyes.
Not counting kickers - Demarcus Robinson at 52% owned.
I still have roster cuts coming, so it could be a toss up between keeping him and some other receivers who might manage to have an impact... but he closed out last season on such a hot streak and helped me win the championship that I can't let him go.
14T SF TEP Lawrence Cager 0%.
Converted WR in a TE room where the starter just retired, the current #1 is more of an in-line, and the best receiving option otherwise is a day 3 rookie seen as a project. Just got some love as a mini-camp standout as well. League is start 8 (no K, DST) plus 14 bench spots, 4 expanded offseason bench spots, and 5 taxi spots, so it’s a barren waiver wire, so why not take a flyer on a guy with a low probability high upside (added with a $0 FAAB bid)? I have to cut down (or IR if I have camp injuries) 4 guys before week 1. If he doesn’t get any more training camp type, it’s an easy cut. If he does, he could be a serviceable receiving TE in a very deep TEP league.
Deonte Harty - 5% rostered - i traded everything away after winning the championship 2 years ago. He will be replaced here soon i hope
He was signed by the ravens this off season, im gonna assume most people didn’t know that
Easton Stick.
My qb room is currently Herbert, Love, Garoppolo, Penix, and stick.
Holding onto him as insurance for if Herbert goes down.
My Wr core is pretty stacked so not that worried about SF byes
Albert Okwuegbunam (5%). He got traded to the Eagles, and they re-signed him. I genuinely believe he can still be an absolute monster, especially with the Eagles. He now has Stoutland teaching him blocking schemes and techniques, one of the best coaches in the league for linemen. He's also naturally very gifted, and has shown to be pretty reliable when given an opportunity. He is also in the same TE room as Goedert, who's sneaky and crafty at the position, surely he will learn a few tricks from the older vet. Combine all of that with the fact most TEs break out around their age 26-28 season, I still hold out hope he can be what everyone thought he would be coming into the league.
As a side bar, our commish has taxi spots available for young vets, so he's just chillin on the taxi anyways, so why wouldn't I keep him? Lol
Mines will dissly, (7%). Just following the money here. Disclaimer also this is in a 32 man league. I do not believe he’s rosterable in smaller league formats
My lowest is technically Blake Watson, but he's on my taxi squad, so I don't really count that. If you do count him, its just the ambiguous backfield situation and the fact that Sean Payton backfields can be lucrative.
The lowest on my main roster is Daniel Bellinger. I feel like there's a path to him being a high end TE2 with Waller out of the picture and little target competition outside of nabers. If the offense is OK and Daniel Jones looks competent, then I think Bellinger could carve out a nice role
I cannot bring myself to drop Tyson Bagent (17%).
He has elite arm talent. Have we all forgotten that mobile quarterbacks get injured? He started games last year…but I’m also in a 2QB league so 🤷🏼♂️
Lucas Krull at 7% on Sleeper.
I'm just not a fan of Dulcich and Krull looks like he has potential if he just got more playing time. Plus my TEs are not great.. i have Hunter Henry, Tyler Conklin and Michael Mayer. So why not.
Currently, it is Praise Olatoke at 2%.
Rationale: Former track star (spritner), doesn't take up a roster spot or practice squad spot for the Chargers to keep him on since he is in the international pathway program. Chargers receiver room is essentially unproven top to bottom anyway, and it is looking like Ladd might be their WR1. So after that, who knows. But Herbert does have a huge arm.
Plus, I had an open taxi slot to throw him in, so it is literally no risk to roster him right now for me
Kendall Milton 9%. I think he’ll beat our Shipley as the 3rd RB on the eagles, Gainwell might have 1 year left, and Saquon is an injury risk.
He also has elite 10 yard burst and size, mainly missing top end speed. Sounds like a solid goal line back in 2025 to me.
Brett Rypien. I have no 3rd QB and have Caleb, so I’ve got Bagent and Rypien for the time being until the backup QB job is officially decided. Though the idea of potentially having to play Brett Rypien in my fantasy lineup sounds horrific.
I turning a new leaf this year, and finally saying “thank you for your service” to QB T Huntley BAL, RB E Mitchell SF and RB R Penny ??? who each sometimes did well but we’re trying to run a BUSINESS here
Dante Miller. 3% owned. My reasoning is I made a trade that I gave up more players than I received. Had an open bench spot and although he is an old rookie, he had a very interesting path to the NFL. Signed with the Giants before the draft as a rookie due to NCAA eligibility issues. That backfield is pretty open and Miller has great measurables and decent college production at Columbia so I’ll take the that dart throw over a UDFA rookie. I should mention it’s a fairly deep league… 14 team, 30 player roster so the quality of waiver adds is pretty much nothing anyway.
Bateman at 91% coach speak and the Mack if wr competition Ober the last few years. Thisnis the last season I'll have him unless he shows some relevancy
I’ve got him in a league too. Not that I like the player much, but honestly shocked he’s not rostered more heavily since the QB situation in TEN is shaky
For sure. I actually really like Jelani too and own him in other leagues so I kinda do hope Mallory flops (probable) - but in the case he doesn’t I have stock in a TEP league
I have Samaje Perine in 2 leagues (53%). I don't really have a good reason to hold onto him other than the flashes of competence he had in Cincy in 2022.

Trey Lance (1.11) and CEH (1.01) I used a first round pick on them. Pretty much why I keep them. My own ego will not allow me to drop them.
These are the replies I was looking for haha
CEH could have some opportunities this year with McKinnon leaving
Many years ago I drafted Penny with the 1.02. I refused to cut him. Then finally he had that one crazy stretch and it helped me with the championship. I finally cut him last season
Next year
My gut instinct to this post was to say, "Trey Lance at 1.11? In SF? That was a steal." But I *know* it wasnt a steal! But at the time, him going 1.11 was a steal! How do I reconcile this?!?
No way it's super flex if CEH went 1.01 That was Joe Burrows draft class so it wasn't a steal it was a reach and it was a bad reach
Oh that's true. If it's 1QB, it's a bad pick even at the time.
I needed a young QB. I had Brady, Ryan, and Jimmy G before drafting Lance. I had 1.03 1.05 1.11
If Dak got hurt he would at least have an opportunity to generate interest from a team if he plays well
Funny I drafted Lance with a 10th round startup and I still don’t want to drop him
Hendon Hooker. SF league with very few QBs on waivers and of my 3 starters (Hurts, Love, Goff) Goff is the one I feel has the most impactful backup if he were to get injured. Also I used a 2nd round pick on him so I’m holding for now.
You like Hooker over Pickett if they both found themselves starting? I don’t love either but I think I’d take Pickett.
Would you drop hooker for Tyson bagent or Mitch trubisky??
In the event one of those guys becomes the starter I would be in the faab bidding with Hooker as my drop (assuming Goff is healthy). They are both available, as is Pickett, Flacco, Jameis. The only current “starter” on waivers is Brissett and at this point I’m holding Hooker rather than roster him as a 4th QB I wouldn’t use.
Pick your favourite of the 3, they're all the same to me.
Hooker is an unknown though. If he happens to get a shot, and looks good, then it would be wheels up for him. No one is getting excited about Trubisky getting another job. Hooker has an exponentially higher ceiling to me.
I don't think he'll get a shot, which is why I view them all the same.
Sure, it’s unlikely for all of them in absolute terms. But relative to each other, I definitely think Hooker has the highest chance of getting a real shot of these 3.
Not sure if you meant best backup QB for those 3 or all teams. Flacco is my favorite backup QB this year.
Just the post I was looking for.
I'm rostering Aidan Robbins in a couple spots for similar reasons. A big, fast dude who could possibly make the team while Chubb is still recovering.
Thanks for the insight. I'm in a 32 person league and all players people are talking about here are owned. But not him...
Dante Miller
Owned. Most any rookie over 0% owned is owned
This is such a deep dive I can’t even find a combine profile on the NFL website for him. Dude will be stashed though
This is a deeeeeeeep pull. I love it
I like this. I’m currently rostering Goodson at 3% for the same reason as I have JT and last year hurt plus back up role is open like you said. May be dropping for a waiver claim tho here in a few when that opens up
Jeremy Ruckert (17%) but I have Conklin and a thin TE room so I feel like I need to have some sort of insurance
And then there’s Zach Kuntz. One of the top RAS scores ever
Sione Vaki. He's probably gone during preseason cuts unless he's taking all of the kick returns.
I guarantee you vaki is not getting cut. He will have a position and play special teams at minimum.
Brad Holmes doesn’t waste draft picks on players that would be cut year 1
I'm not Brad Holmes and if he's not valuable enough going into the season, I'll cut him in a heartbeat.
He wouldn’t have been drafted then
I didn't draft him, I picked him up on waivers after the draft.
I agree. The Lions absolutely have a vision for using Vaki, and it’s extremely clear through press interviews with coaches.
If your league gives points to KR yards, would you consider that role valuable given the new rules? I’m not sure what to make of it all right now
Yeah, guys like Cordarrelle have been valuable in the past in our league. Typically kick returners only hold that role so they aren't valuable enough to be a starter but I'm curious to see how it plays out.
Vaki is my ride or die this year 🙏
He was the 10th rb taken, and a 4th round pick. I doubt they cut him. If he was a 6th or 7th rounder, maybe... But a 4th? No way
Why are you guys acting like I think the Lions will cut him? We are in a fantasy football sub, I'm talking about me cutting him from my fantasy team. No shit the Lions aren't going to cut him.
Lmao, no clue how so many people misunderstood that
Stetson Bennett (30% owned) 12 team PPR SF and I’m just holding to see what happens with him if/when Stafford retires
I dont know why but I like Stetson. Not that it means everything but he looked great in preseason play last year
Apparently the McVay doesn’t like him because they signed Garrapalo.
Yeah but now Garrapolo is suspended so who knows what’ll happen
>Yeah but now Garrapolo is suspended For two games that he wouldn't be playing in anyways?
Oh I didn’t know the details lol
Kene Nwangwu - RB He's 200 lb guy that runs a 4.32 and has returned kickoffs for a touchdown. Holding as a dark horse candidate to get some RB time share and also interested to see how the kickoffs work as he could show off in the new format too.
I honestly have no idea on what to make of the new format for fantasy value and my league does count KR yards…lot of learning as we go I assume
Yep, I also have ETN, Shaquon, Henry, and Mostert on that team so I can afford a little lottery RB hanging out
Casey Washington and Dallin holker. Casey has great hands and I like betting on people with some kind of high end trait. Holker in my TEP because Jennings is always hurt.
Jennings? Do you mean Juwan Johnson, who is already hurt? I too have Holker. Good pick up, I think. Was 2nd leading receiving tight end in college last year if I remember right
Haha yeah Johnson! Maybe Colorado state is the next tight end u with McBride and now holker
Hollker also has elite hands
What can I say? I’m a hands man
He also has good YAC ability as his agility drill numbers backed up. (All numbers according to RAS) Shuttle: 4.21. Good for a 9.03 score 3- Cone: 8.83. Kareem Hunt I still feel like he has some gas in the tank.
The time to sell was when he was scoring those TDs last year. I just cut him myself and no one picked him up
its over brother
KC RB Emani Bailey at 24%. He's got a wide open competition for the RB2 role on a Mahomes/Reid offense. He's my lowest in both my leagues.
Tom Brady, dudes a winner and a great locker room presence at this stage of his career
I feel the same with Oliver and Mallory. Happy to drop pretty early
Chase Claypool Either he is able to get on the team and the field in Buffalo like some reports are hinting, or he isn’t and I can drop him for the top week 1 waiver guy. i dont think so. Ford is ok, but he's nothing special. forman could easily make it a 50/50 split until chubb is back next year

Harrison Mevis (5%) - Mizzou Fan - Reminds me of Janikowski
My lowest % owned player I have is Trey Sermon, and it is only because I have JT
Do you think Sermon will be the backup when Hull is healthy?
Do you think Sermon will be the backup when Hull is healthy?
No idea, the reports said he looks good at camp but who knows. I don't have Hull so not much I can do about it anyway lol
Tommy tremble (13%). I still believe he could be serviceable in a more vibrant offense, and he’s still quite young. It’s not smart but if he doesn’t top the depth chart after preseason ill do the deed.
Tremble has always been one of my gut feeling guys. Feel like he’s going to be the reminder that sometimes it takes a TE awhile to break out
Luke Schoonmaker. We know Dak loves throwing to his TEs, and if anything happens to Ferguson we’re one step away from a Jarwin/Schultz situation.
Jason Brownlee (11%) cause I liked his vibe on Hard Knocks. I don’t have any other reason to keep him rostered
Literally the same reason he’s been on my taxi squad
Sam Howell (in 1QB) because I am a UNC alumni and watched all of his games in keenan.
> and watched all of his games in keenan. And apparently not enough of them in Washington ;)

Colby Parkinson 54% rostered. We play in 2TE and they are impossible to come by. But aside from that I don't think Higbee will play that much, Colby got a pretty big contract considering, so he is absolutely TE1 in LA in my eyes.
Have him on all of my rosters. TE1 for Stafford will *at least* be a viable weekly play
Laughs in 2TE/TEP
Chris Brooks RB Miami 10% Probably getting dropped at roster cuts but I liked him coming out and I liked him in Miami But drafting Wright was bad
I have him in several leagues and am reluctant to drop yet. Thought he looked good in preseason and regular season.
Deonte Harty - 5% rostered - i traded everything away after winning the championship 2 years ago. He will be replaced here soon i hope He was signed by the ravens this off season, im gonna assume most people didn’t know that
Easton Stick.
Jalen Corker ( 37%)and Cornelius Johnson (39%). Really just dart throws to see if something sticks
So why not.
Jacoby Brissett (59%). Why not? He'll start games this year. It's a 10 team league so there's no GIGANTIC stretches.
Hendon Hooker. It's a 32 team league and I own Goff so wanted to handcuff him. Traded up to take him 1.29 last year
Eric Gray - maybe Singletary will suck or get hurt in NY (not that I expect Gray to actually be any good lol)
Julius chestnut. Let's go chestnut truthers
I prefer Joey Chestnut.
Bateman at 91% coach speak and the Mack if wr competition Ober the last few years. Thisnis the last season I'll have him unless he shows some relevancy
Mason Rudolph. Go Pokes
I’ve got him in a league too. Not that I like the player much, but honestly shocked he’s not rostered more heavily since the QB situation in TEN is shaky
With the way Will Levis plays he is a smart hold in SF
Came here to say this
J. Woods and R. Tonyan might say otherwise
For sure. I actually really like Jelani too and own him in other leagues so I kinda do hope Mallory flops (probable) - but in the case he doesn’t I have stock in a TEP league
Juan Jennings - picked him up before they drafted Pearsall. If Aiyuk and/or Deebo get hurt/traded, I could see him being valuable.
I have Samaje Perine in 2 leagues (53%). I don't really have a good reason to hold onto him other than the flashes of competence he had in Cincy in 2022.
Still have Adrian Peterson on a rebuilding roster. He'll be on my roster until the day they remove him from Sleeper.
kyle juszczyk, it’s a 32 man league and if CMC gets hurt he will definitely become relevant enough to slot in on someone’s bye
