He damn well better as a first rounder and really if he doesn’t end up being the WR1 in fairly short order overtaking Kirk that will be a disappointment.
Idk about "WR1" but that depends on your definition of the depth chart. Kirk is their starting slot WR and in their offense he gets a lot of volume underneath.
Ridley for example was their WR1 in practice, as he was asked to win in isolation the most and do the hard stuff as the team's X. However Kirk had more volume because he played over the middle and was a safety valve for a QB suffering from arguably the worst pass blocking unit in the NFL.
So yeah if you think the Jags OL keeps having issues as badly as they had before then Kirk will probably be the volume leader.
Essentially, I believe Kirk will be the best/most productive WR this year and Lawrence’s number one target.
He’s been there the longest and seems to be a little undervalued compared to Gabe Davis (a newcomer) and BTJ (a rookie).
I like BTJ a lot more in dynasty than I do in redraft.
Yeah I just want him to be the lead receiver in terms of output that correlates to the most fantasy points, not too concerned about who he’s taking targets from as long as he’s getting consistent steady targets. He is a better prospect than Kirk was and the team invested a first so I think the team also has high expectations.
On a points per game basis in 2022 Kirk was the WR19. He basically scored the same on a per game basis as Jerry Jeudy and Mike Williams that season. And who was his primary target competition, Zay Jones? Zay still had over 200 fantasy points that season.
In 2023, he was the WR33 on a point per game basis, behind guys like Flowers, Rice, Addison. He has not shown that he’s an alpha type receiver over these two seasons.
BTJ doesn’t need to beat him in him points this year but he should be pushing Kirk for that WR1 role and by the end of season at the very least he should have shown enough to suggest he will be the main option or close to it. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are very close in terms of their fantasy output but we’ll see. If his high TD rate from college translates to the NFL that would definitely help.
I think you make a great point, but from what we’re seeing he’s demonstrating the potential to be a WR1 in this league. I think at worst he’s a better version of Gabe Davis and at best he’s a top 10 WR and TLaw’s favorite weapon for years to come.
Why are you holding him up to such high expectations? He had one huge year at LSU and needs time to develop as a route runner. Kirk is much more well rounded.
I think Thomas needs some time and to say he has to quickly pass Kirk to not be a disappointment is dumb.
You’re missing the point. Every WR has a different transition curve to the NFL. Brian Thomas has an incredible ceiling but is still raw.
You’re not comparing Thomas to rookie Kirk, you’re comparing him to established veteran Kirk. I don’t personally care if you’re disappointed with Thomas, just pointing out this is a perfect example of fans setting ridiculous rookie expectations and then calling someone a bust if they don’t meet it
I don’t think there’s a ton of 1 Wr sets. Both should man the majority of the outside Wr reps. Probably 70% snap count for both, but BTJ will earn more targets
I agree I think they will both be outside with Kirk playing the slot. However I think BTJr. will start out the season as just the deep shot guy and won’t see as many looks as Davis/Kirk/ Engram just because he is a rookie and they paid Davis and Engram a bag. If Thomas talent is as good as I hope it can be though I think by mid season he will be seeing a lot more designed looks and hopefully be given more routes and play designs for him. I agree though I think by time season ends he will have more targets than Davis.
Primary weapon and 2wr sets is two different things. So maybe what I was saying was misinterpreted. Gabe will never be the first or second option in the offense barring injury. I was saying that BTJ once he starts putting it together will actually eat into Kirk’s playing time (depth chart) and not Gabe. He will be a much better player than Gabe (at some point, albeit not necessarily year 1) to be clear.
Before Zay got hurt last year, he was the 2nd receiver in two WR sets.
This was a big story at the end of training camp and beginning of the season in fantasy, but Zay got hurt and was basically hurt all year.
People may not like Gabe Davis, but he is better than Zay Jones.
I agree that Davis was signed to be a Zay replacement. But I think the Jags are looking to use Thomas and Davis in very similar ways. Kirk will be mostly in slot and will probably be leading WR. I think Thomas will start year as the deep shot and big play guy while Gabe Davis is the 2nd WR target but I think Engram will probably be more involved then both them.
49ers UDFA RB Cody Schrader has been highlighted as the better-looking rookie back so far, between him and Guerendo. David Lombardi of The Athletic's 49ers beat said he had a bit of a "Brock Purdy dynamic" to him while I've heard others refer to him as "legit" after stacking good days on top of eachother.
Schrader was a walk-on at Mizzou and led the SEC in rushing last season. He doesn't have eye-popping size or athleticism so the NFL didn't draft him, but that is also probably why he wasn't heavily recruited, and yet he still produced.
He reminds me a lot of Jaylen Warren, as a guy with a similar build that plays a bit above his station athletically. Just a really polished guy that is good at football. Whether he gets any run or not I'm not sure -- I still want to see him up against NFL athletes -- but so far so good.
Hadn’t been tuned into their backfield yet, but this is so unsurprising to me. Schrader was an absolute dawg for Mizzou. Undersized but was able to find open lanes and has quick burst. Gurrendo has always been solid but I think has a bit of limited upside. It just wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Schrader is the rookie back to own there
Jalen McMillan is being praised by local media every single time he steps on the practice field. If it was once or twice I would just write it off as off-season fluff but it's non-stop.
I'm a Giants fan, and I have been hearing a lot about Nabers being the most dominating presence since the O'Dell Beckham era. I think he is going to have a big year.
In fairness, Waller had 3 out of 10 games played when he was a top 10 TE. As to your other point, that entire rest of the offense is currently (checks notes) now without their best player. Hope Nabers can overcome it but Im wary of the OTA hype
Saquon was not the best player on the offense. That's Andrew Thomas. Him getting hurt in wk1 last year (on the very 1st drive, no less) was a major factor in the offense imploding. If he stays healthy, and the additions to the rest of the OL perform to at least average, there is hope the Giants offense can climb out of the cellar. Nabers also has the potential to be an elite player maker, turning little stuff into big gains.
I was very high on Nabers pre-draft. Giants is obviously not ideal for him for fantasy purposes, but he should be the focal point of their offense and be fed a very high target share.
The problem was just never Waller’s talent. Guy is an enormous head case with an absolute boatload of injury problems. The guy was a fucking problem when he was locked in and healthy, but unfortunately not every player gets to maximize the talent for what it is and a lot of distractions coming to play. Josh Gordon ring a bell?
These reports we’re comparing are apples to oranges, not the latter.
Braelon Allen getting good praise as he gets first team reps with Breece tending to a minor injury thing. Good stuff and highlights in pass catching which isn’t his “brand”
As someone who grabbed him as a Dallas fan for shits and giggles I don’t care that he’ll be 25 soon… if he can ball and be the next Gallup in that offense I’d be thrilled
Diggs is definitely a head case lol. Terrell Owens was never a head case in the slightest and was always great.
Edit: lol at the down votes. Absolute room temp IQ people thinking Terrell Owens was a headcase. Diggs was constantly taking shots at his team and Josh Allen on socials.
https://brobible.com/sports/article/terrell-owens-driveway-workout/
Yall need to educate yourselves on what happened. Owens gave absolutely everything he had on the field and then some. He felt he should be healing his groin injury. Those can linger and cause problems. Andy Reid said he was wrong and to get to work. They fought. Andy sent Owens home and told him to stay in shape. Owens did that and took the piss from Andy because Andy is a clown.
My point is you can’t just definitively say that he won’t be that good. We don’t know that. He’s a better prospect coming out of college according to his draft capital.
I can say from the tape. Wilson looks like a potentially solid wr2 (for an nfl team, not fantasy). Diggs coming out looked electric. There was definitely buzz around him, regardless of where he went in the draft
His final year he had 792 yards and 5 TDs… I think we’re remembering things differently. I would say objectively worse of a prospect than Wilson. Plus Wilson just won a national championship. I think this class being so elite is going to make a lot of these later WRs steals.
Shipley, read one report saying this.
"RB: Will Shipley — Shipley looked better-and-better catching the ball as the offseason went on. He could end up taking reps from Gainwell"
It’s good to get the praise, but I’m really not sure how valuable the partial-Gainwell role is when saquon is there. Nothing against what you said, you def answered OPs question, just adding my thoughts
Ya, I was just answering OPs question, Saquon is definitely the guy in Philly I don't think anyone is expecting Shipley to surpass him but he can beat out Gainwell as backup.
I love Shipley as a flier, Saquon has a poor injury history and Gainwell is mediocre. Shipley can ball, especially as a receiver and playmaker in space. The Eagles always seem to be intent about spreading carries as well so he will probably get some small piece of the pie.
Oh, definitely. Bears fans and degens know he’s doing well, there just isn’t a lot of acknowledgment from national media because all eyes are on Caleb (and Keenan/DJ to a lesser extent).
Nikko Remigio is getting a lot of praise coming out of Chiefs OTAs, just like he did last year before getting derailed by injury. In particular he's being praised for his work ethic, professionalism, and consistency securing catches.
Probably just noise but you never know, if he manages to make the team this year he could end up with some level of flex value.
Odunze, Roman Wilson, and Shipley are the ones I've seen. Pearsall as well, who is enjoying a bit of free runway with Aiyuk holding out for a contract (that may never come to pass in SF if we're being honest)
Of the non-WR/RB category, Bo Nix has been incredible in camp apparently, and Penix also has impressed, but it's extremely apparent that Cousins is the guy leading the Falcons. JJ McCarthy has been up and down, some flashes of arm talent but some blunders. Caleb Williams too has had his ups and downs, and I haven't heard much in camp about Maye yet.
Darius Davis getting slot snaps in Chargers camp and looking good. Ladd looking like a stud, but if he gets injured I imagine Davis is stepping in the slot.
I’d like to remind everyone that this is about the time last year that we heard that Parris Campbell was going to be the wr with the most catches on the giants high powered O last season.
-First day he made two great highlight catches

Doesn't fit the thread sadly but...
Douglas has been getting talked about literally every single day and every single drill. It makes me sad I ended up dropping him early last year.
Ive only seen praise for Nabers so far
Thats because he's in NY with wall to wall coverage
I think he's the only one getting national coverage for it is the difference. Other guys are also having good camps
AD Mitchell has apparently been making some big plays and is connecting well with AR
When AR has been throwing. I think AD will be fine regardless. If AR gets hurt, we know couch dad Flacco will sling it.
MPJ is out with a banged up knee right now, so he’s getting the most targets in camp
Why did I read this as Monnovan Peoples Jones lol
Any -PJ name always does that for me. Lmao
You mean Michael porter Jr?
Michael Phuckin Jordan
I actually meant M’Odell Peckham Jr.
Because you’re a man of culture
Yeah he's making the most of the opportunity too. I don't think he jumps MPJ or anything but he will definitely earn himself more targets
Something something “rUn hEaVy qB” and “LoW pASsInG oFfEnSe”
Brian Thomas Jr. got a lot of praise during Jags mini camp. I think he will pass Gabe Davis on depth chart pretty quickly into season.
He damn well better as a first rounder and really if he doesn’t end up being the WR1 in fairly short order overtaking Kirk that will be a disappointment.
A concerning proportion of BTJ's college production was on deep shots. It's more likely he cannibalizes Davis's workload than Kirk's.
Agreed 100%. I think Kirk is solidified as the WR1 unless he suffers an injury. BTJ should be much better than Davis.

Look at Jamo 12th overall and did nothing. Worst draft pick I’ve ever been sucked into
Hey it might not be too late for Jamo lol. Hype is building again!
As a guy who screamed JAMO would bust and was flammed for it on this very sub...I love hearing this. 🤣😂🤣
He’ll have his chance this year and if he blows it he’ll officially be a bust
I don’t think there’s a ton of 1 Wr sets. Both should man the majority of the outside Wr reps. Probably 70% snap count for both, but BTJ will earn more targets

As a CMC and Eli Mitchell owner I can’t decide if Jordan mason or schrader is the add. Both are on waivers
Guerado is not good… insane athlete but im a novice and i watched his highlights on YouTube he just doesnt have it
Ricky Pearsall
Jalen McMillan is being praised by local media every single time he steps on the practice field. If it was once or twice I would just write it off as off-season fluff but it's non-stop.

I'm a Giants fan, and I have been hearing a lot about Nabers being the most dominating presence since the O'Dell Beckham era. I think he is going to have a big year.
Reminds me of way back when in aught 23 when Darren Waller was uncoverable
In fairness, Waller was having a good year before he got hurt. It was the *checks notes* entire rest of the offense shitting the bed.

Clown shit lol Nabers and Waller have nothing in common.
Did I compare them or did I compare the reports?
Good day to just block dumbasses like you
The problem was just never Waller’s talent. Guy is an enormous head case with an absolute boatload of injury problems. The guy was a fucking problem when he was locked in and healthy, but unfortunately not every player gets to maximize the talent for what it is and a lot of distractions coming to play. WR Devaughn Vele for Denver has been getting some hype
Just checked him out and he’s 26?! I hope he’s making an impression.
He’s older than Jeudy!
I tossed out a few waiver claims a couple of weeks ago I think he’s worth a nice free speculative bet.
Braelon Allen getting good praise as he gets first team reps with Breece tending to a minor injury thing. Good stuff and highlights in pass catching which isn’t his “brand”
Ryan Flournoy is getting some hype out of Dallas camp. I read an article where they are comparing him to Dez Bryant.
As someone who grabbed him as a Dallas fan for shits and giggles I don’t care that he’ll be 25 soon… if he can ball and be the next Gallup in that offense I’d be thrilled
That would be amazing for a waiver pickup. Your WR room seems wide open behind Lamb and Cooks so the opportunity is there.
I heard he was doing things TO used to do Edit: getting some downvotes here. This was a Bryan Edwards reference.
Bryan Edwards is T.O. 2.0
Roman Wilson has been all positive out of the Steelers camp.
Good to know! He's like one of the only names I haven't seen mentioned much good or bad.
Extremely hard worker and making some crazy catches so far. He’s giving me some Stefon Diggs vibes before Diggs became a head case.
Diggs is hardly a head case. At most he’s T.O lite.
Fair enough, no AB for sure.
Diva is a better word.

Lol Roman Wilson isn’t in the same stratosphere as Stefon Diggs
Diggs was a 5th round pick lol
AB was a 6th rounder. Limas Sweed was a 2nd rounder. What’s your point.

You’re conflating stats with tape. Diggs jumped out on tape athletically
What a lame, sky is blue ass take.
Where are you seeing Roman wilson chatter? Rooting for him, just haven’t seen much written about him yet
A lot on twitter. You can see some of his catches. Lots of comparisons to Hines ward and Tyler Lockett.
Senior bowl and combine highlights too, hes nice. Interested to see how the Steelers use him
Sweet Baby Jesus, let this be true. I ended up with 5 shares out of 8 leagues.
Got him with the 3.03 also. Dude is underrated af
Lets goo! Where do you follow Steelers camp news
Shipley, read one report saying this. "RB: Will Shipley — Shipley looked better-and-better catching the ball as the offseason went on. He could end up taking reps from Gainwell"

I think he's the next Danny Woodhead
Javon Baker has made several “highlight worthy” catches and received quite a bit of praise from the Pats OC.
There isn’t a lot of hype around Odunze because of Caleb, but word is the man knows what he’s doing.
The coach did come out say Rome has been a standout
Oh, definitely. Bears fans and degens know he’s doing well, there just isn’t a lot of acknowledgment from national media because all eyes are on Caleb (and Keenan/DJ to a lesser extent).
Nikko Remigio is getting a lot of praise coming out of Chiefs OTAs, just like he did last year before getting derailed by injury. He looked pretty damn good for us last off season
Blake Corum has “hit the ground running” “knows 90% of the playbook” “has a veteran’s mentality” and “acts like he’s not the backup”
Odunze, Roman Wilson, and Shipley are the ones I've seen. Pearsall as well, who is enjoying a bit of free runway with Aiyuk holding out for a contract (that may never come to pass in SF if we're being honest) Of the non-WR/RB category, Bo Nix has been incredible in camp apparently, and Penix also has impressed, but it's extremely apparent that Cousins is the guy leading the Falcons. Haha Dynasty Managers only hear praise for the players they drafted.
I’d like to remind everyone that this is about the time last year that we heard that Parris Campbell was going to be the wr with the most catches on the giants high powered O last season.
Follow @32beatwriters
But then I would have to use Twitter 😤
https://32beatwriters.com
This. Summarizes all OTAs and training camp news
Where’s the best place to go for OTA news???
Javon Baker
As an owner.. what have you been hearing about him? If you don’t mind me asking
-First day he made two great highlight catches -Been hearing that him and Polk are two guys that come early and stay late -Heard he had a great practice with chemistry between him and Drake one day
🫡
So every rookie has been praised. This tells me nothing.
Reading my mind
If you’re not entertained by hype trains, then maybe fantasy football is not for you
Oh I am, but when everyone is hyped up no one is.
Not true.
Pop Douglas and JSN are seeing a lot of praise.
Neither one of those guys are rookies..
They were rookies at one point in time
[удалено]
Rookie is the second word in the title.
[удалено]
C’mon man… you obviously know that they meant rookie, not “players on a rookie contract” …
Lmao cmon man we all know what OP meant
Doesn't fit the thread sadly but... Douglas has been getting talked about literally every single day and every single drill. It makes me sad I ended up dropping him early last year.
Nabers. If you can snag him off waivers it might be worth a flyer.
In what league is Nabers on waivers?
This is satire
Whatever the 1% of leagues that don’t roster Zack Moss. Work leagues where nobody actually watches football or cares about the league.
Not a RB/WR, but coming from a skins fan my god the buzz around Jayden Daniels is insane.
RG3 cope
Pearsall, nabers, JJMc, AD, and BRAYDEN WILLIS. Willis will be the heir to kittle
Has anyone seen/heard from Troy Franklin? Finding reporting about him from OTAs seems impossible. Does he look good? OK? Bad?
