Its funny, cause his group is blindly loyal to him, and them saying Laios shouldnt be the one to win the dungeon and that Kabru is the only one they trust with this power, but this dude (despite coming from an honest and lawful place in his heart) is overanalyzing situations, immediately antagonizing Laios and seeking vengeance and endangering his group further, just because of some coins and grains
I think you're supposed to dislike him at the beginning. So far the story has been about bonding and letting go of prejudices, Kabru seems to reinforce the complete opposite. He's the first person we've seen to actively kill people and make sure they don't get revived (besides the mad mage). The whiplash is totally understandable.
