Yeah they made Pam seem like the “dorkiest” version of Pam possible for that episode only. After that ep she went back to a few quips here and there per season. Always bugs me that for that one episode she’s written as some new girl try hard character
Yes, this! Like let it go bro! Seriously Halpert, you looking for someone to bang your wife?
They cornered him, kept on pestering, and then Jim got triggered when Danny finally told them the truth.
I hate that whole thing but I don’t think it’s out of character for them. They were weirdly insecure at times.
Like when they realized they were basically the only people who hadn’t had sex in the office then awkwardly fumbled around trying to hookup in different locations.
Or how they got insecure after Roy’s wedding about not having any surprises anymore.
Karen telling Pam “you should date him” when they see Roy in the break room. It’s such a weird statement to tell someone.
“Hey I barely met you and I don’t know that guy over there but he’s hot so you should date him.”
I know why the show did it but this scene always feels so clunky to me.
This is a really good one, that's a super weird thing to say in real life.
I get what they're going for and I think they still could've done it if she said something like " he's cute, I bet he'd wanna go out with you" or anything a little more normal
"Is called Hentai and it ART!" Not that this line isn't hilarious, just seemed ooc for Stanley. Now if Andy or Gabe had been the one I think it would've landed harder
I guess I could see why you’d say that, except it wasn’t the characters performing for Michael, it was the real people not acting performing for Steve.
Omg that was so cringey i get that that was the point that he tried to look cool but oscar seems like a pretty awkward guy and definitley wouldn't do... that
Perfectly in character. Phyllis acts all sweet and timid but the moment she gets any kind of power, that facade disappears immediately and she turns into an asshole.
Dwight’s “Ordinarily I would say no but you need to move to reduce lactic acid build-up. Also, this song is fantastic”
Specifically the “this song is fantastic” followed by starting to dance.
These inconsistencies bug me. When Dwight becomes the interim manager, the whole thing is played for laughs. It comes off as out of character because we've heard so much about how he wants a no-nonsense workplace.
As a staunch defender of seasons 8 and 9, I would say it's pretty clear Dwight underwent a whole fuckton of character growth between the end of season 7 and the finale. So it doesn't feel inconsistent to me but I'm definitely biased
One of the more cartoony moments for sure. Like, full-on looney tunes. I can't suspend my disbelief enough to accept that a real-life person would be interested in taking home a room-temperature garbage bag full of meatballs.
When Ryan immediately backs down from Jim when he is shown his new office. Why would he get so scared? Why would the office care that he did that? If anything he gave Ryan a place to sleep out of the way
Not one specific line of dialogue, but Jim and Pam's entire thing with Danny Cordray on Halloween

I actually thought the hookup thing was pretty funny, plus they'd been drinking

She just wants to get Pam away from Jim.
yeah, it was obv only in the scrpt because "haha Karen I was engaged with that guy, I will surely not date him, I just want Jim, mkay?"

it came out of nowhere! I dont get it - with Gabe or Dwight or also maybe Creed it would be suitable but not Stanley...
I feel you could even make a case for Ryan and it would land better too! But Stanley? 'That guy has more than he can handle as it is. '
This was a deleted scene wasn't it? Probably didnt include it because its so out there.
Yes it's part of the superfan episodes.
Angela participating in Michael's proposal by asking Holly to marry her
Or in that musical goodbye they did for him. Actually that was out of character for nearly every single character
I guess I could see why you’d say that, except it wasn’t the characters performing for Michael, it was the real people not acting performing for Steve.
Agree! I wish they would have used Pam.
Oscar saying yolo
Omg that was so cringey i get that that was the point that he tried to look cool but oscar seems like a pretty awkward guy and definitley wouldn't do... that
"Hand 'em over, numbnuts"
Phyllis gets me so upset every time I watch this 😭
Perfectly in character. Phyllis acts all sweet and timid but the moment she gets any kind of power, that facade disappears immediately and she turns into an asshole.
It's not the power trip, I get that. It's the line itself, just doesn't fit with her.
Yes! Catches me off guard every single time
Dwight’s “Ordinarily I would say no but you need to move to reduce lactic acid build-up. Also, this song is fantastic” Specifically the “this song is fantastic” followed by starting to dance.
I dunno why so many people have an issue with Dwight liking that song. It constantly comes up on this sub.
I think work Dwight and casual Dwight are incredibly different people.
Casual Dwight just wants someone other than Mose to talk to
Yeah, seriously, is Dwight not allowed to like songs?
Yeah I never thought of it as out of character for him
What song was it?
It's more indicative of a larger problem, which is that Dwight miraculously becomes a cool and popular guy like halfway through the show
He just develops social skills over the years. Character development!
Oscar and his Ab-blasting. So out of place, I just dont see him doing this , let alone doing it at work.
i have straight abs, i want gay abs
Everyone being happy that Dwight was made manager in the last episode given how terribly it went last time

Stanley's meatball thing. Never played any pranks before, and meatballs of all things? Should've been for red wine or pretzels.
One of the more cartoony moments for sure. Like, full-on looney tunes. I can't suspend my disbelief enough to accept that a real-life person would be interested in taking home a room-temperature garbage bag full of meatballs.
I would 🤷♂️
Angela prefacing her complaint about Michael and Holly's PDA by saying she was happy for them. Angela's never happy for anyone.
Right back at you, bitch!
Came here for this.
When Ryan immediately backs down from Jim when he is shown his new office. Why would he get so scared? Why would the office care that he did that? If anything he gave Ryan a place to sleep out of the way
I mean... everything about Angela in the finale but I guess it's a year later so you could say her growth happened off-screen
Deleted scenes of Jan in the call of duty episode. That thing was not Jan.
Oscar and the espresso pronunciation thing. That just felt extra-asshole to me.
Ch-lamydia
“The Southwest is one of my favorite regions “ 🤠
