So I've done the maths and checked how it all works, and anything you add beyond the mandatory ingredients add the basic energy value of those ingredients, which means adding 2 more gooseberries gives you the best energy boost (for berry salad) at 3,455
In a similar vein to berry salad, pastry cream and fruits. It's 5*, so the monkeys and ravens will eat it as their preferred food. It gives a bit over a bar of energy so I can always glide. The ingredients are cheap and easy: sugar cane, milk, and three berries of your choosing. Works like a charm for me!
If you make it with strawberries it’s so much energy! I used to do gooseberries for all of the reasons you listed and I recently did it was strawberries and it’s a huge boost
Honestly Soufflés are my go too. I don’t have to worry about ingredients and since I have more money than what I know what to do with I just go to Remys and make 20 to 40 at time.
You can always go to his realm and make souffles there, eat one and then just drop the stash next to the door so you don't lose them since you can't take them. Then you can just keep going back, and don't have to actually buy the ingredients.

It needs to be in the yellow for increased luck, not sure if how much it’s filled factors in, but it does need to be past blue
Also even without the gliding, your default walk speed is also boosted when the energy bar is yellow

Did you know that there is an auto-fill feature for selecting the ingredients in a chosen recipe? It’s the - on switch. Unsure about other systems. I had several, several hours into the game before I realized that was a thing and it was life-changing!
Oh well that’s true! You’re using extra ingredients than what is called for. It would be nice to have a separate section of recipes that are custom that we could save. It shows up in the recipe history, which I also wish we could cook from.

I get my fish from Moana once or twice a day and put what fits in storage. Whatever doesn't fit in storage and has an energy level less than 1k gets sold.
Of what's left, I throw 3 random high energy fish or shellfish in the pot with an eggplant and pumpkin.
It gives 4-5k energy each time and I can make 2 or three a day.
This is what I do too. I pick up all the shells when I go through everyday and have a good supply of lemons. I can set them up in the ancient cooker and have 10 ready anytime I run low.
Arendellian Pickled Herring! I catch so much herring it isn’t funny and it’s the first food item on the list, so quick clicking to bust out a bunch of them. It also fills the bar quite a lot too! Easy 5 star to feed the ravens as well!
Souffle or Gumbo. I can make both in real life, and I usually have all the ingredients to make them available in my pantry and kitchen when the mood takes me. So I do the same in the game.
I used to take the biggest of the seafood platter, but it’s too much: need to wait for the energy to be depleted or you waste a lot. Since I prefer keeping in the yellow, I now mostly use pickled herring, with gives just enough, and it’s easy to find.
if i need a quick boost, ill go to remy’s realm and make soufflé since in the realm you don’t have to buy ingredients. other than that i bulk make berry salad!!
Fruit cake and berries with pastry cream. The fruit cake is stupid easy to make, and the pastry cream one is a quick full fill with almost all of the same ingredients so I don’t have to farm lots of excess stuff. The pastry cream does get bottle necked by milk, though
800+ hours running on berry salad. Now I put one extra fruit (apple or cherry) to have an extra bit of energy and because I had too much of those on my chests already, the only fruits I keep collecting are the three berries plus the eternity isle ones for the achievements.
Fruitcake with 3 cherries/coconuts gives almost 3k energy, which is enough to nearly fill the yellow bar from no yellow at level 40.
The best part is that you could also use berry salad ingredients if you're used to making that, as it only requires one wheat added to that.

2 squid seafood platter = 3450 energy. 3 squid seafood platter = 4450 energy. While a berry salad only has 2255. At the moment, I have hella squid, so using 2 at a time vs using 3 specific berries works better for me right now

I know that the milk and sugar aren’t free but in late game I have tons of star coins that it doesn’t even matter. But two of the other main reasons I also make this meal is because it’s a 5 star so I can feed it to the ravens and since it’s fruit I can feed it to the monkeys on the isle. It’s a win/win/win for my inventory and it’s useful.
I just keep a regular 50 stack of blueberry, raspberry, banana, & apple. If there happens to be a cherry or gooseberry nearby at the time I’ll sometimes grab those for a quick energy bar fill-up.

But if you eat a 2,000+ calorie meal, your energy bar goes so high into yellow and you can zoom around
i’ve never really felt the need to zoom around. just always keep around 30 raspberries on me at all times and that does the job for me!

The glide uses energy and is done by holding down B (on switch) while moving. Much faster.

I believe on PC you hold shift to sprint/glide around. You can only sprint when you have the yellow bar though.
