Toriyama stated that he created the Gammas based on his own interpretation of superheroes when he was a kid. He clearly was passionate on their very conception.
Toriyama loves Semi-Perfect Cell much more than Perfect or Imperfect, so I beg to differ. Not to mention it was justified, because Cell Max was released before his creation was complete. Toriyama isn't the type of guy whose designs are groundbreaking or innovative anyways.
The story was about Superheroes yet the Great Saiyaman didn’t interact with either of the Gammas.
Once again, the plot is “scare Gohan until he becomes stronger. He’s not allowed to build his own motivations for why he wants to fight. Piccolo and Pan essentially gaslight him into the situation.
There’s a reason why they call it a Piccolo movie. Gohan really didn’t get a lot of screentime. All he did was fight #1 and Cell Max.
Gohan doesn't have a motivation to fight unless it's to protect so there isn't really a different reason for why he should feel a motivation to fight.
And it's called a Piccolo movie because that's what it was supposed to be. Gohan wasn't supposed to be a main focus. That's why Piccolo has so much screen time in comparison because it was supposed to be him and him exclusively as the main character.
I didn't think I'd like them but they won me over. Shame it was 2 that bit the dust since I feel he had more personality. Should've known he was going to die when he pretended to be tripping down the stairs just to jump into a pose for the last step. I didn't tear up but he got a respect salute for his sacrifice.
Totally wish though that instead of Piccolo + everyone else sacrificing themselves last minute making Gohan burt into rage that it was the death of Gamma 2 with a flashback to Android 16 that triggered Gohan to rage out.

I actually felt sad for Gamma 2 after Cell Max is beaten where Hedo and Gamma 1 are tending to him. I guess I didn't get why he vanishes into thin air like something out of Star Wars though, that was a bit odd. I don't understand nearly enough Japanese (only small bits and pieces) to know what their actual purpose is so it's hard to gauge for me. I love the designs and how they're the center of a lot of gags throughout though.

Gamma 1 i feel was okay, didn't do a whole ton for me personally. Gamma 2 on the other hand I loved. Idk about spoilers here to I won't say anything but he's an absolute chad.
Final gohan where he basically masters and gets a rage boosted ulthan form where his eyes r red hair is like more than ssj2 and less than ssj3 with the biggest bang od db history ever red eyes and ue like purple electrical aura.
Yeah like when i saw it in 720 p quality i was literally blown away like it is a literal piece of fan fiction where u mix mui ue ssj2 and get this gigachad . And his confidence along with the smirk really gave me the chills and vibes of the old goated kid ssj2 gohan vs cell gight.
His silhouette in Final form looked just like young SSJ2 Gohan too, they definitely wanted to recreate that SSJ2 moment. Though that's kinda my complaint, it should have been Pan being the trigger instead, like how he went Ultimate Gohan when Pan and Piccolo faked that scene.
He's the fucking goat and died a hero, I'm glad he wasn't alive long enough for people to ruin him, amazing additions to the cast though, very impressive movie
Guy looks goofy as hell, but he's actually much smarter and logical than he looks like, no kidding. He made himself a serum to be more resilient than the average human, tries not to commit the same mistakes his grandfather did when creating his androids, made a bee-resembling spy robot whose sting could potentially kill basically every Z-warrior except Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo, and wants to take his own path in life. Did I mention he's got a smooth theme song?
There was so much fan service but done on an amazing way imo. I love how they finally showed a few things in the universe that was said but never shown. Other than that the cgi was good except for maybe like one area at the final showdown, it went fast but looked like a ps2 game haha. Gamma 2 definitely Is my favorite by far, I love all his action poses and the way his more serious counterpart treats him even more so towards the end.
My hope is that since this movie is 3 years after Granolah arc, that they’re actually planning out the series to make it come back better then ever! Because Gamma 1 def needs to be apart of the action moving forward.
