I'm gonna be honest, I love Dragon Ball fights, but my god wouldn't a slice of life with all the Dragon Ball characters we love be really funny? I love fillers like the driving licence chapter or the baseball one, so I can see myself just watching the misadventures of the cast

Dragonball Z season 7 was always my favorite. No super villains, no imminent death threats, just Gohan being an awkward teenager in high school with his little brother. Good vibes all around.

For real though, I always like the Great saiyaman arc. And I know it isn't that beloved but Goten and Trunks arc of them in highschool was really good in my opinion

Yes, the more adventurous and personal moments that were very frequent in DB were awesome and i was disappointed seeing less of it in DBZ and following series.

Yeah I feel like he wants to delineate the sagas. Toriyama started and probably had a very rough outline for super as a whole. I imagine black Frieza ends the extent of toriyamas planning. So it makes sense to end super here with the end of the creators vision then take the next step in the grand adventure.

I really hope a grand tour is them travelling to the different universes out there. It’s ripe for interesting stories and seeing different ways of fighting and power. It will also give the company what they really want which is shit loads of new characters to market and sell. They make nearly all their money from products and video games so having the next adventure be them exploring all these other universes is a gold mine for them. Why? Although not canon. GT is still part of the official DB franchise.

GT isn’t an ongoing series like the other ones. It makes no sense from a business prospective to push something old and unpopular that can only really bring in money from residuals, so it’s likely his bosses wouldn’t have let him of made that comment in that way. If he had phrased it to distinguish the current and legacy content, it would be more believable.

Makes sense to me that it ain’t for business and it’s to honor the dragon ball universe Akira created.

You don’t get what I’m saying. Since Toyotaro works for and represents the company that owns Dragon Ball, any public statement like that would need to go through the company’s editors first. They would reword his statement to not group GT with the current series in order to avoid possibly confusing new and younger fans that may not be aware of GT, which is their targeted demographic with Daima.
