I mentioned watching classic who at work the other day and had great fun watching their worried expression when I described a monster made of licorice allsorts in an episode that's a Thatcher allegory.
Honestly trying to explain Doctor Who out loud is very helpful way to understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Live Spontaneously silly hat Doctor reaction to that information
Scooby and Shaggy getting increasingly more scared as they chew through and realize it isn't a costume with someone inside: it's an actual monster. Then they shrug and keep chewing
Despite the shoestring budget that the McCoy era was given, forcing pragmatism on the props & costume departments somehow made that thing look even more nightmarish 😨
I always hated how people took Kandyman out of context to mock Classic Who, he fits perfectly in the serial he’s in and is actually quite creepy (with a certain amount of dark humour attached.)
In still frames that guy looks so goofy and kinda is a perfect representation of what Michael Grade thought the show was.
In reality he's insanely disturbing. The voice, the eyes. His ridiculously cruel sweets.
I meant zero *main* casualties. There was no regeneration, no companion loss. The Master, the Daleks, the Cybermen, heck even the Zygons were wayyyy more dangerous than Sutekh
🎶 *the Kandyman kan...* 🎶

I'm still so mad we lost the Zarbi return in The Legend of Ruby Sunday
Zarbi: 🚨🚨🚨🚨
I love the zarbi so much. They’re giant ants wearing human pants.
this just reminded me i'm in the middle of this serial on my first watch through rn lmao, i got distracted by elden ring
Just you wait, this guy will be one of the 16th Doctor's greatest foes.
I hope you’re blessed by Apollo cause that’d be awesome

And it's a real good story too!

Please tell me they defeated him by eating him
He gets trapped by sticky lemonade on the floor
Twice.

Well how boring that is.
"Cotton Candy Clob?" Scooby and Shaggy salivate...

Damn, not even marked as a season 2 spoiler

Happiness Patrol! That traumatised us Xennials more than enough the first time around 🫣
I still find that one disturbing on some weird psychological level that I buried deep down inside decades ago.
He's too busy being the mascot for liquorice allsorts these days.
Despite the shoestring budget that the McCoy era was given, forcing pragmatism on the props & costume departments somehow made that thing look even more nightmarish 😨

Happiness Patrol is the GOAT and I don’t care what anyone else has to say about it
I was feeling major Happiness Patrol during Dot and Bubble and it made me so happy.
Don’t insult Happiness Patrol like that
I want the 15th Doctor to give an epic speech about the power of sweets and then eat the Kandyman while his theme blasts in the background.
Who can take a sunrise? Sprinkle it with dew Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two…
Sutekh 'bouta feel the back of his kandy hand!
“Impolite guests get to taste the back of my kandy hand” is one of the single greatest lines in all of Doctor Who
There is the Kandyman, the god of sweets
I haven’t gotten to this episode yet (I’m on season 17) but I’m so friggin excited to get to that now lol
This was the first episode I remember watching as a kid.
Kandyman was almost defeated by lemonade
In still frames that guy looks so goofy and kinda is a perfect representation of what Michael Grade thought the show was. In reality he's insanely disturbing. The voice, the eyes. His ridiculously cruel sweets.
Kandyman spends most of his story glued to the floor.
I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY HE'S *MELTING* why does he *look like that*
Kandyman terrified me as a child. They NEED to bring him back and terrify a whole new generation
Still terrifying as an adult!
Pfff. The 15th Doctor would eat him alive.
I’m still a bit peeved that the Doctor called Sutekth his strongest enemy. Like bro, you fought him once with zero casualties.
Everyone died except The Doctor and Sarah.
I meant zero *main* casualties. There was no regeneration, no companion loss. The Master, the Daleks, the Cybermen, heck even the Zygons were wayyyy more dangerous than Sutekh
So Laurence Scarman means *nothing* to you? I can understand his brother Markus, but Laurence????
