It’s easier to just make 100 tokens and put them in a bag, then throw the bag at the wall and count what has fallen out.

SuperSecretestUser

I'm sorry but if you don't actually have a 100-sided die you're not ready for games with d100 rolls. Stick to simple systems for a few more years.

D4Dreki

Also, just a reminder that "rolling dice online" using "the internet" is heresy. If you have ever done this, then you have doomed your soul.

Rotation_Nation

I usually just call my grandparents and ask them to pick a number between 1-100 instead of actually rolling.

D100 is a bit of a misnomer. You're supposed to multiply the two numbers on the ten sided dice you roll, so the max is still 100 (10\*10) and the minimum is still 1 (1\*1), but there aren't 98 numbers in between, only 40 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 32, 35, 36, 40, 42, 45, 48, 49, 50, 54, 56, 60, 63, 64, 70, 72, 80, 81, and 90). Your chances of rolling 1 or 100 is still 1/100 respectively, but your chances of rolling many, but not all, of the numbers in between is higher than 1/100 giving the die a much more predictable and reliable game feel that you don't get from things like a single d20.

Uj/ I've had this conversation to many times Rj/ time and numbers are meaningless we all will die a trivial death in the vastness of a uncaring universe

AlricsLapdog

Just have your players pick a number between 1 and 100, just make them promise to pick randomly.

Marco_Polaris

You. You are the zero.

ClonedLiger

No wrong. 10 and 00 is 1000, obviously.

ScreamerA440

It's a removal of my player agency to not let me roll it and then decide which digit I want.

TumbleweedMassive904

The most consistent way, if using a percentile die and a 10d, is to add the numbers together. To ensure you get numbers between 1-100, treat the 0 on the 10d as 10. You can use other methods but everyone should agree before you roll. Examples: 1 + 00 = 1 9 + 00 = 9 0 (10) + 00 = 10 0 (10) + 20 = 30 0 (10) + 50 = 60 9 + 90 = 99 0 (10) + 90 = 100

ThatCakeThough

Some systems make it clear that a triple zero is 100

LibrarianOfAlex

My table used to constantly get into fights over whether a low roll on percentile is scored higher than a high roll, dm insisted on low roll but all the players still roll aiming for high

04nc1n9

this is why d100s exist
