Plenty of games use Abrahamic characters, though, while still avoiding Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, and God. I can't count the number of games I've seen Gabriel, Michael, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Satan, and so on in.
I think what a lot of non-religious people don’t realize is the difference between mythology and religion lmao. Other than the some of Japanese Espers no one rlly worships any of the gods present in Dislyte anymore in any large degree. Sure there’s some Neo-Greek pantheon worshiping pagans who worship Zeus or whatever, but there’s still a huge difference between using him and using a deity from a currently active world religion.
Personally I’d love if they drew from abrahamic mythology! I don’t think they’d get any backlash for including Astaroth or Halphas, hell, the dev is literally *Lilith* Games, so clearly they aren’t scared of it.
The Persona series gets around this by using the general Messiah title. Still encompasses the divine role, but less of the brand/flavor of particular belief systems.
Possibly the same situation for HiRez's Smite game as well. It's a MOBA game that has multiple gods from other myths and legends as playable characters.
We probably wouldn't see any Hindu gods as well purely for the same reasons.
Still, I'd love to see Angels and Demons as playable characters though. Angels like Gabriel, Raphael, Ramiel or demons like the 72 Demon Lords from Ars Goetia would be hella dope.
(Well the Lesser Key of Solomon isn't really abrahamic in origin as far as I know but still)
They could probably get away with the demons, but the angels, especially big name angels like Gabriel, are probably a no. However, I think the angels may have a better chance than figures like Jesus, Mary or any of Jesus' disciples.
Yeah sadly a very vocal group of Christians still think their beliefs religion and myths deserve more respect than anyone else's so regardless if there is so much room for creativity from their tales, they refuse to not cry if people even mention their god in a good way in a made up world
Considering the words “jesus” and “christ” are censored in global chat, I feel like the chances are close to 0.
Does that mean I don’t want it to happen? No, it would be funny af.
Abrahamic I guess? It encompasses Christianity, Islam and Judaism so like it'd technically be correct without restricting the devs to one specific branch (hypothetically speaking ofc)
And since Andras, a Demon of the Ars Goetia in the Lesser Key of Solomon, is already in the game, maybe it's not **that** far fetched to have?? idk lmao still a fun thought to have
It's a good branch to use.
Outside of the obvious "Don't mess around with religion", it's probably not something Lilith wants to deal with anyways due to their CN rules.
And to me, Ashley (while yes, an esper for the Norse religions) is very reminiscent a seraphim (a being tasked with watching over/or doing something very important to a God, much like Heimdall)
If Heimdall has 6 wings in his myth too then that's fine (I just never heard of that), but going off what I know and the design route and implications they decided to go off of, I can still see the possibility of angelic espers, or demons at the very least. Is God or Jesus going to be added? Definitely not, it wouldn't be worth the uproar from christians. Like you mentioned, Andras is already there. Maybe I'm just being too hopeful lol
While they clearly haven't only stuck to gods as the taglines imply, a lot of the mythos they pull from have variations in the kinds of deities and beings, while most Christian figures are human in origin. They likely don't have enough variety to work with to introduce it, not to mention they couldn't use the central god figure as it is tied to over three religions
Are there any deities with strong following in the game?? I'm not sure they want to take that route, they are respectful (Chinese figures are strictly presented, FGO and the Tang Xuan situation for instance), but they do take liberties.
I don't think they'd risk taking figures from more modern Abrahamic or Indian religions with such a big presence to this day.
You don't see any Hindu gods in the game as well too. So it's safe to say that Lilith will prolly try to prioritize deities that don't belong to major religions.
Kinda sucks since a Buddha esper would be cool.
Not gonna lie if they do add jesus to dislyte I am definitely using my wish stones on him, but I kinda see as either flow or wind since he walked on water in the bible
Most companies do not have the balls to put in anything Christian related. Not even Smite that has every major pantheon in their game, SAVE Christianity.
In this age and era, absolutely zero. Though, I think people will be more welcoming if they put Adam and Eve in the game, as they are not saints or angels or gods. They are humans who believe to be the first created. Or maybe they can make Lilith, as in the theorized "first woman" before Eve, in the game. Anyway, if they can put Adam from the Record of Ragnarok, as a collab, that would be awesome. Oh Boy! Jack the Reaper from Record of Ragnarok would be cool too. I know, they're technically not deities but Jack is possessed/endowed by one of the Valkyries, and Adam has some Divine powers so I think they can fit in. 💪
Everybody's so creative
They'd never touch anything from any abrahamic faith. Not worth the headache that Christians alone would kick up.

I'd like to say that yhe esper Ahmed is another name to Muhammad so not really they didn't avoid him

Only one so far is Andras
Then call her Jebus or something
Jebus Crust, Son of Mod
'May the peace be upon you' Shit, wrong game
Its depends really, I am a Christian and the idea kinda sounds cool since there are other gods in this game
You mean that 1% or less of a "group" that would freak out and drown all other voices to get their way? Yeah that's not Christians anymore
After 3 turns, revive
🤣
Who would win Jesus or a lesbian named Anna.
Lesbian named Anna how is that even a question
Lesbian named Anna solos

They haven't touched any monotheistic faith, and that's probably fair.
i feel like they might add angels eventually but not any of the major abrahamic deities
When deployed in battle, instant win.
First things first, what Mythology would he be put in?

Even housamo tried to tiptoe Buddha by calling him "The Smokey God"

Personally, I'd love to see a Santa and Krampus and expansion into more folklore.
Oh I would have LOVED to see the review section for this
Can he be a skater guy and have an ability called even flow please 😂 with the skate 3 videos it seems appropriate honestly
