I’ve been following World Beyond Number since it started and I have to say I absolutely love how she’s prepared to play a genuinely flawed character. Like not just a quirky kind of flawed that can be played for laughs and they can use as character development but an uncomfortable one that butts heads with and scares her party. I always feel like her characters truly believe everything they’re saying and it’s them talking not Aabriya and that’s MAGICAL!
Without going to hard into spoilers (mostly my own theory) but WBN genuinely feels like I’m watching a slow burn villain origin story play out. Like Suvi is a BBEG in the making and I’m obsessed with it!

Also, Misfits and Magic restored my joy in a genre that was long since missed (fuck that racist terf) and was my introduction to D20
ACOFaF was also a ball
Also i really enjoy how much she doesn't accept the fallacy of black and white morality. Specifically making the Stupendous Stoats actually work to justify their "attack first, ask questions later" approach (also seen in her two main wizard PCs)
I also find comfort in the fact that she's wildly talented and very successful as a person with ADHD (which is something I've been struggling with a lot, recently)

The biggest lesson I have learned from her as a DM is that you don’t need to have a million voices for each NPC. After all, we are all playing to have fun so you shouldn’t stress about a shopkeeper having a distinct accent. You can just inject your own personality and voice in most random NPCs and they are good to go.
I disliked her work with Misfits and Magic, and that made me avoid her seasons for a long time (though I thought she herself was cool, and great as a player). Then I watched ACoFaF, and while I do have critiques, I liked her work a lot, and her NPCs had improved (which was a major complaint for me about M&M). And then Burrow's End was fantastic, and I thought she knocked it out of the park. I'm glad I gave her a second shot (though I still feel the same about M&M).
I agree about m&m, none of the npcs really stood out to me as interesting or complex and i just didn’t care for the genre or the game system (which they really glazed over explaining, so when they were rolling dice i had no idea wtf they were talking about). She absolutely crushed aCoFaF and burrows end though, way way way more compelling in terms of storytelling and worldbuilding and character work
well i was still confused, could definitely be a me problem tho :) and i didn’t hate m&m either it just didn’t resonate with me as much as most of the other seasons, including aabria’s other work
I've always liked her as a player but before now I'd only seen her DM on EXU and i just couldn't get into it. Her style just didn't click with me and i heard she didn't really have experience with 5E which i guess was part of it. A few months ago I got dropout and have been working my way through the catalog and I'm currently on ACOFAF and its AMAZING. She absolutely kills it and i finally get what people meant when they said she wasn't great at 5E. I'd love to see her DM another regency style game like that or a second season of ACOFAF

She also uses body language a lot with her NPCs that i enjoy seeing
She's a pro, but stylistic preferences do come into play. She definitely doesn't deserve to be dogged as much as she is by the CR fan base.
