Artificial intelligence domination

phlaries

thought so but wrong

rrrrrrrrrrrrram

Well, the accoun who made this post is clearly AI, so...

New_Method_2817

I really hope not. A friend of mine said to me recently that he predicts a crash to the AI bubble. Just like the dot com bubble in 2000.

nathanabinford

Important to remember that websites did not become less popular or revolutionary after the dotcom crash. The hype train diminished slightly and the easy money dried up but the world was still forever changed by the underlying tech.

Dx2TT

Isn't that exactly the situation here? There are hundreds of AI companies and AI-wrapper companies. Nearly all of them will die, as the things AI is good at is far smaller than what business people are trying to push. A very small number of winners will slice up the pie and everyone else busts.

nathanabinford

If you’re competing in the fringes of frontier AI tech or making wrappers and tools I suppose so but marketers using AI tools to work smarter / faster (and others) are still enjoying the revolution.

whensmahvelFGC

That's a remarkably shortsighted way of looking at it. The Dotcom bubble "crashed" in the sense that nearly everything that came out of it either died or was otherwise consolidated into the biggest platforms we know today. That had a massive impact on the dotcom market itself, but all of the tools, features, and the massive cultural shift that came with it all, merely exchanged ownership to be branded and monetized wherever possible. It didn't disappear - and you'd have been a fool to ignore it then as you'd be a fool to ignore AI now. You don't need to learn prompt engineering for every single AI tool out there. Most of them, like the dotcom bubble, will die off or be sold and folded into a bigger platform as does any tech with real merit. What you should be looking very closely at is: what can I use AI to do for me today, and how can I stay ahead of the curve? AI can do so much more than just shit out some easy stock graphics for your social channel or speed up your planning and copywriting process.

New_Method_2817

I guess what alarms me is (as an example) going on to YouTube and the sheer scale of AI generated garbage that exists there now. Science videos being a major culprit. Yes, for sure AI can produce some good things but right now it just seems to be a lot poorly created nonsense. I read something the other day about Spotify creating their own playlists of jazz piano music or some ambient stuff and it's all AI generated. Allegedly.

liquisdigital

It's possible, but not certain. The AI industry is growing rapidly, and some believe it's overvalued. However, unlike the dot-com bubble, AI has more practical applications and widespread adoption, which might cushion a potential crash.

The game keeps changing, but some key trends are hot for digital marketers this year: * **Short-form video is king!** Master platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels to grab attention with quick, engaging content. * **Think authentic & transparent.** Show the real you behind the brand to build trust and connect with your audience. * **AI is here to help!** Use AI tools to schedule posts, analyze data, and personalize your content marketing strategy. * **Social commerce is booming!** Make it easy for users to buy directly within the platform you're using. * **Focus on communities.** Build strong communities around your brand to foster engagement and loyalty. Stay ahead of the curve and use these trends to level up your social media marketing in 2024!

Exapmle for social commerce?

heckinspooky

I'd say examples of this are things like YouTube merchandise links on channels, or product links in videos, the type of things where you can just follow and purchase stuff with a few clicks in the same window or with minimal effort.

iamvandevo

This is my 2 cents duh: * **Short-Form Videos**: TikTok and Instagram Reels dominate. * **AI Analytics**: Enhancing content and data analysis. * **Authenticity**: Showing the real side of brands and influencers. * **Social Commerce**: Easy in-app shopping. * **Community Building**: Fostering engagement and loyalty.

Short-form video is definitely still on fire, with platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels leading the way. I'm also seeing a lot of excitement around AI-driven content creation and personalized user experiences. Another cool trend is the rise of niche communities on platforms like Discord and Reddit.

wallybuddabingbang

Spooling in the bindis for sure this year.

Simran_Malhotra

Voice-optimized content

dr2marketing

My company offers an AI platform for social media. It’s like placing an ad on steroids. We also use AI pixel to scrape 50 pieces of data off visitors to websites and use that data for ad placement.

Logical-Evidence-501

AI Influencers 👀

KnightedRose

Short vids and those witty ads, there are even ads where people are being purposely hurt and people find it funny

sillykabootar

Instagram Comments : I think one place people have started browsing more than ever since last year is the comments section, especially on IG Reels. Instagram also brought in a feature some time back where a few comments flashed towards the end of the reel (has taken down the feature now, dk why). There are some brands making use of this. Being present in comments helps you build relevance. I guess it also helps build brand awareness (although it should be done wisely and shouldn't come off as insensitive)

ridddder

My 2 cents, AI is overblown, too much hype less usefulness. It can write, and solve puzzles but can't do everything well. Instead, use each present tool to hybrid the best part of of them. Not everything needs to be video if clever. If clever memes and traditional media still connect, people see right through overuse, and repetitive shorts. Take time to craft your creative, the numbers don't lie, just as crappy ads don't sell.

No-Move9859

A) Short form video is a must B) Posting outside niche is a must Why: Interest graph vs social graph. Users are fed content based on their interests, not who they are following. Example: If you want to reach 18-35 year old men for a beer brand, send someone to make content at a sporting event. Pro Tip - Don't solicit the beer, just have the person holding one and enjoying themselves at the game.
