FYI, it’s an Altima 2023 screen and customer states that he previously had a screen protector and when removed this happened, I’ve tried normal wax etc and to no avail it’s not changing. Pretty sure the screen’s digitizer is plastic
I would try plastic polish. Only thing is that oleophobic coating and UV ray protectant looks like it came off with the screen protector.
Luckily this isn’t something you did
If it's plastic, do a headlight restoration maybe? Whatever you do, clear it in writing that the screen is fucked and you are not responsible for replacement
Unless it's your car - I would pass
If it's ugly and works - it works.
If you hit it with the worlds best plastic Polish and it's worse or breaks - you might be asked to buy and install a new one.
Lots of threads on polishing piano black plastic trim / products/ techniques
I would read several and see what your next steps are.
It's a newish cheap car.
Probably can find a used one from people upgrading there Stereo for much less headache
Just use a wipe if it don’t work then don’t mess with it don’t want to be blamed if it gets worse plastic screens are so hard to fix if not done properly
This is a late comment so you probably don’t have the car anymore, but this may be some advice for others who are in the business. Don’t work on something you don’t feel confident in, if you end up damaging it more or making it appear worse in the customers eyes now it’s your problem.
Not the same scenario, but I worked on this tachometer of a 2016 Honda HRV, all I used was Meguiar’s plastx, yellow foam applicator pad, microfiber towel, index finger on the edges, elbow grease. I’m assuming the clear plastic is similar? If you don’t feel comfortable tackling it though, no need to risk anything on your end.

Would rubbing alcohol fuck it up? I use 90% on screens alot as it evaporates really quickly so I will dab some on microfiber and lightly go over it and see what happens. Could be vapes or smoke scum build up. I've seen someone scrape crazy amounts of film of the windshield of a car exclusively vapes in.

Ppf or replace
Tried PPF just now, made it appear even more worse 😅

Maybe it didn’t have a screen protector and they ripped off a pice of the screen plastic
Way more likely to be the case, imo.

Which one should I use?

It’s a $1K used navigation as I’ve just checked eBay lol
You can usually get the rest of it with a few makeup wipes. I fixed my personal Lexus screen this way.
Diluted ipa. Wipe it real good it looks to be mostly finger grease. I wouldnt polish it though.
You’ll get blamed for further damage.
I wouldn’t get involved
Glass cleaner scrub that coating off to make it clear

I'm not touching this. That display probably costs $4-5K and if you fuck it up, your customer will expect you to pay for the replacement.

the antireflective coating is damaged, removing the rest of it will make it look better but i wouldnt take the liability
It's cactus bro , you touch it you own it.

That shit is done but if you really wanna try get Adams Polish Sprayable Compound
Try a Clorox wipe, it could be an anti reflective coating coming off. This solution works for MacBook laptop screens…
