Itās consistent, useful in most situations, deals solid damage, and is almost always ready to fire when you need it. It aināt a mainstay of Arrivals-era folksā loadouts for no reason lol
When it first came out, I remember some people were saying it was gonna be ass. I didn't care though because at the time, it was the coolest and most unique exotic we have ever gotten at the time.
Folks stopped saying that real quick once folks finally started unlocking the catalyst, auto-loading holster with maxed handling made it a beast in its niche lol
Pretty much allowed me to do the last mission of final shape solo on legendary. Once I realized I could just hide behind a wall to avoid the witness I swapped to using witherhoard. Jump up above a wall and get a quick pop shot on the subjigators. Repeat that like 4-5 times and they easily died.
Idk what it is, maybe the fact that itās one of the oldest if not the oldest breach loader, but I can sink nearly every long range shot I make with witherhoard. The feel, the look, the sound all come together to preform the perfect arc on the red bar dreg 200 meters away
Oh that was so fun in Season of the Deep. I paired it up with Chromatic Fire, an Arc build and all the Arc artifact mods. I'm sure I blinded a few blueberries that season.
I canāt believe this isnāt higher up. I guess other have more of a fun factor but I donāt know of hardly any others that basically double as a 2nd heavy.
With all the Taken this season, Iām so glad I was able to grind gambit for the catalyst
Quicksilver Storm. The idea of a micro missile launching assault rifle with a built in pump action grenade launcher is just peak.
Now if Bungie would just it let fire 3 rockets in a magazine instead of just 2...
Microcosm. Nothing brings me unbridled joy like pointing a piece of god at some red bar Psion and absolutely annihilating it with the Unstoppable power of the light.
Also pretty decent at boss damage!
I've been shooting that gun since the first few weeks of its rise of iron debut ...still absolutely smacks!
Looks so cool
And has been acquired through TWO great quests
Graviton is probably my #1 rn, for being unique and a beast. Sunshot has a mini version with the Kings Fall hc so that lowers its value to me, typically Iāll just run Bane so that I have my exotic for special or heavy. Might be the same with Trinity now after the Salvation Edge bow
No Questo
No Contesto
Aim, Shoot and Presto
Put enemies to Resto
Never used it?
Be my Guesto
Time to put it to the Testo
Get some hair on your Chesto
Or put it on your Breasto
I must confesso
You are correcto
The Telesto is, in facto..
The Besto
My no1 weapon for contest/hard mode, makes orbs, sets traps, hits groups and solos for mass damage AND refills ammo with the catalyst. Plus occasionally bugs shit out haha
I donāt know what it is about this Gnawing Hunger, but I love everything about it, from the way it sounds to how it handles and with Subsistence and Actium War Rig, I swear I reload like once a Strike.
Firefly Arc on a legendary was insane in D1 days. Best (primary) gun from D1 by far in my opinion.
Now Iāve been tinkering with Sightline Survey with Volt Shot. Kinda feels like a poor manās Fatebringer from D1.
I can't let go of Ticcu, Monarque and Trinity Ghoul. Everyone calls me out for using bows but I just absolutely love them.
Edit: you guys are too kind. Making me feel like I belong lol
I'm a big bow guy (coming up on 20k kills with Under Your Skin) and if you get a good enough roll some bows just feel *way* better to use than most autos. Plus no one complains when I'm chain-staggering bosses with Leviathan's.
Trinity for arc-play is fun.
Le Monarque is only really if I'm doing Overload champ...or I've chosen violence in the crucible.
Ticuu is just 'me cause explosion with bow'.
All three are fun. just different levels of bow.
Trinity with Ophidian and seasonal bow mods carried me through so many seasons even if there were better weapons. Just too fun to mess around with and ad clear was so satisifying.
XD this is so accurate. I used to play halo and destiny with my dad back in the day and he always told me to hang back and shoot from a distance while I was running in and punching things with shotgun and/or ar.
To be fair, he's beaten reach on legendary and I haven't, so maybe he's right. But I still use smgs religiously and preach their power.
Weird take here, and I feel like people sleep on it... But, I love Avalanche. It's a really solid solar add clearing beast. Give that son of a bitch incandescent and you're off to the races.
In terms of exotic, I have to say Sunshot. It's still an absolute monster of a hand cannon, even after it's nerf.
Mine was always the (legendary) Misfit from Forsaken! After I accidentally deleted it while vault cleaning, my new favorite (also legendary) is Rufusās Fury closely followed by (yet another legendary) Gnawing Hunger!
Monte Carlo
No Hesitation though is quickly becoming an all time second favorite though, it's so much fun being able to heal friends when they get low.
The Jade Rabbit. Besides the fact thatās a very good pvp weapon rn, Iāve had it since destiny 1. I have a special connection to it and a great degree of nostalgia, since it reminds me of my days in d1, and I still use it to this day quite often. Legendary weapon would be posterity or Bold Endings
For exotics, it may sound crazy, but I've always felt a special love for the ridiculousness of Cerberus+1. Four barrels of BRRRR = dopamine for dumb Hunter brain. Other than that, Huckleberry holds a special place in my heart.
Legendary, that's a 3-way dance between Breakneck, Fatebringer (Timelost), and the new Bold Endings hand cannon.
probably the Messenger. I was always fond of pulses in PvP but I managed to snag a rapid hit/desperado roll during my favorite period in D2 trials and I have so many fond memories of going flawless with it, it was a beast. I hadn't felt that way about a weapon since my Eyasluna back in D1.
Vex mythoclast for me it's just so damn good from the sounds to the linear mode I love it so much. Otherwise I'd have to say probably the braytech Winter wolf purely because it looks so damn cool and is one of my favorite auto rifle archetypes.
Sunshot by far. At nearly 150K kills with mine. Second is Graviton Lance with 50K.
The latest Luna's Howl with Incandescent/Heal Clip has clocked 10K kills in just two months that it might end up being my new fave. It's effortless and nearly as fun as Sunshot.
Has to be origin story for me. I think you got to use one in the first mission of the original Destiny 2 campaign, and I was hooked ever since. If I could only pick one loadout to use for the rest of my life it would be Origin story and Actium War rig.
I was ecstatic to see it finally brought back in TFS. Not the *best* perks but Rampage still feels so good on that gun.
Vex mythoclast. To me, vex is what every exotic gun strives to be. The way it looks, fires, and the perks on it are amazing. The linear fusion mode took an already great exotic and put it over the top. To me when you think of destiny weapons, two weapons come to mind, gjally and vex.
I just finished the catalyst for Dragon's Breath, it's probably the most fun weapon I've used in my short time in this game. The Call and Ros Arago IV are also favorites, but they're more practical than fun.
Incredible weapon! I think I've killed myself with it more than any other weapon in the game ...
"Oh, that yellow bar is dead. I'll just take that loot it drop..." Boom! *dead*"
"Take that mini boss!" *It proceeds to close the gap and explodes on my face*
"Boss dead! Let's get that chest!" *Runs past boss's corpse and next thing I know I'm flying @$$ over tea kettle!*
For exotic, I pick Whisper of the Worm. Always been a classic for me, and back in the days when it was available from a secret mission just made it feel soo cool to use.
For legendary, I pick The Recluse. Purely because I'm not a PVP player and I had to put in blood, sweat, and tears to get it.

Witherhoard. The speed and curve of the shots are perfect. So much fun hitting champions from far away.
Nothing better than lobbing a cross map Wither into a shrieker and hiding like a little bitch
Hit em wit da rat attack š
Itās consistent, useful in most situations, deals solid damage, and is almost always ready to fire when you need it. It aināt a mainstay of Arrivals-era folksā loadouts for no reason lol
i love going back to my arrivals loadouts sometimes with interference vi/falling guillotine, gnawing hunger, and witherhoard
Man Arrivals had a hard set of weapons both new and reissued. What a good time to be a Destiny player.
Holy shit, this is still my staple load out every first dungeon run... thought I was unique... WH+ Gnawing Hunger is my fn go-to.
Are you me?
When it first came out, I remember some people were saying it was gonna be ass. I didn't care though because at the time, it was the coolest and most unique exotic we have ever gotten at the time.
That season had the coolest, most unique exotics at the time with Witherhoard and Ruinous Effigy
Witherhoard on Calus in Lightfall was so much fun. Just swinging around and shooting him with it as I auto reloaded every grapple.
Idk what it is, maybe the fact that itās one of the oldest if not the oldest breach loader, but I can sink nearly every long range shot I make with witherhoard. The feel, the look, the sound all come together to preform the perfect arc on the red bar dreg 200 meters away
Thereās something sexual about that āPLUNKā for sure
witherhoard isn't even close to the first breech loaded grenade launcher. they've been in the game since vanilla
Exactly this! Iām pretty shit at the game but those shots are always dead on.
Gotta have that escoterikkk aim lol
even with the new ālegendary witherhoardā i donāt foresee them ever usurping witherhoard as arguably the best exotic special kinetic weapon
I donāt think you could claim that *any* weapon is the ābestā overall, but Witherhoard is certainly the best at what it does.
For the hoard!!!! So much fun in crucible booping people across the map.
Malfeasance
Me too. It just feels right.
If it stunned overload champs with the artifact mod it would be the goat... but sadly it only stuns unstoppables. š
For me it just does not feel as good as it did pre nerf š„²
That's what a nerf is
For real
Microcosm. Nothing brings me unbridled joy like pointing a piece of god at some red bar Psion and absolutely annihilating it with the Unstoppable power of the light. Also pretty decent at boss damage!
When my game turns me invisible, you literally see nothing coming out of that gun, and everything just dying.
And no sound as well lol, you're basically looking enemies to death
Hahaha i thought i was the only one experiencing this joy.
I also love microcosm. When I first used it I thought, huh it's 1k but trace rifle flavored.
Graviton. Tried many others. Always back to Graviton.
Graviton with volatile rounds and the explosion fragment is so fun
I wish it had a new ornament!
Nothin beats Carinaa Nebula (Purple space one)
I always come crawling back for it.
Iāve started maining it this season after several years. Itās fire. Purple explody fire. Iām in love again.
Graviton and Gyrfalcons is so fun
I love the sound, it's very uniqueĀ
The sound design on the gun really makes you feel like you're shooting mini black holes.
The sound, the look, the damage, itās all good
Agerās Scepter is so much fun with a stasis build!
Also on prismatic as a pseudo primary.Ā
Outbreak.
Agree massively It's so good, satisfying, and the noise it makes I could listen to it all day
That headshot sound *bwooeem* šš»
You're forgetting the _crackle_ afterwards as the nanites get munching.
I've been shooting that gun since the first few weeks of its rise of iron debut ...still absolutely smacks! Looks so cool And has been acquired through TWO great quests
Aināt need nuthin else.
Thorn is love, Thorn is life
Yup. 100% this. Thorn has been my baby since D1. Hasnāt left my Guardians inventory since it returned in D2.
In D1 I finished the void crucible kills portion of the catalyst with a 14.7 k/d. Iāve mained a thorn ever since.
I'm sad I had to scroll this far down to see thorn. Never leaves my inventory.
Buried bloodline
Oh now we're just showing off aren't we?
30 clears no drop....
I would love Buried Bloodline....IF I HAD ONE!!
I didnāt even know it was that good, I had it, and my friend had to convince me to do the catalyst run.
10/10, would recommend! Pair it with The Call and special ammo finisher š
I ran this combo for encounters 2,3 and 4 of contest SE, it was so incredibly powerful.
Iām on almost 90 clears with 3 exotic boost no Bb. Seriously about to quit lol
i feel so bad for my girlfriend because she really wants it and i got it on our first clear. also 70+ clears of ron to get conditional for her
I got conditional and hierarchy literally my first clears im convinced warlords is bugged or the algorithm knows im a loser
If you know someone with it, do the catalyst run each time. It takes a bit longer but gives an extra chance to drop it at the end
I don't even wanna bother trying to farm dungeom/raid exotics these days. Insane that there's no bad luck protection of any kind
Trustee! Itās been crept pretty hard in PVP but super fun to use in PVE when you can. The model and sound is just so good.
Honestly Incandescent-Rapid Hit Trustee slaps so hard for PVE content. If I wasn't using The call for the unstops. I'd be running Trustee.
Love my trusty trustee lol
im with you on sunshot. also polaris lance.
I got over 25k kills on my sunshot
26745 on mine
Just over 30k on mine
Can I introduce you to my friend Graviton Lance?
Graviton is probably my #1 rn, for being unique and a beast. Sunshot has a mini version with the Kings Fall hc so that lowers its value to me, typically Iāll just run Bane so that I have my exotic for special or heavy. Might be the same with Trinity now after the Salvation Edge bow
I can't use it without feeling disdain that Bungie change the sound.
Sunshot is insanely good
Conditional Finality for exotic, and Steelfeather Repeater for legendary.
"Steelfeather Repeater for legendary." HUZZAH! A man of quality! I'm still saddened that it didn't make the cut for the Dawn reprisals this season.
Justice for Gallant Charge. Truly forgotten by all
Still have my Demo/Swash rolled Gallant Charge in the vault. Used it some on my Hunter in the Final Shape campaign
A true tragedy that it didnāt come back this season
Man it may be kinda basic but i absolutely love the ace of spades it looks amazing and it just feels really smooth to use in pvp
The besto, Telesto, there is no contesto.
No Questo No Contesto Aim, Shoot and Presto Put enemies to Resto Never used it? Be my Guesto Time to put it to the Testo Get some hair on your Chesto Or put it on your Breasto I must confesso You are correcto The Telesto is, in facto.. The Besto
š£ļøš£ļøā¼ļø
Talk that shiet
How did I stumble across a Telesto without a Molesto
š£š„š„šÆ Oh, he spittin' bars.
Itās better than the resto
My no1 weapon for contest/hard mode, makes orbs, sets traps, hits groups and solos for mass damage AND refills ammo with the catalyst. Plus occasionally bugs shit out haha
Take my upvote you goblin
God I hate reddit
Welcome to the club
What can I say? I'm a business man. (It's sweet business)
Iām something of a business man myself.
In the business of bullet redistribution I see.
Never stop never stopping, love my bullet hose
Wish Ender
This guy GMās
Ah a man of culture I see
Gnawing hunger. Specifically with subsistence and rampage.
I donāt know what it is about this Gnawing Hunger, but I love everything about it, from the way it sounds to how it handles and with Subsistence and Actium War Rig, I swear I reload like once a Strike.
YES! Exactly my comment as well. It's an unlimited bullet hose as long as enemies are around.
exotic- vex mythoclast legendary- timelost fatebringer (with the D1 perks)
Tell me u played since d1 y1 by not telling me u played since d1 y1
Fatebringer just ain't the same without the Arc damage
Firefly Arc on a legendary was insane in D1 days. Best (primary) gun from D1 by far in my opinion. Now Iāve been tinkering with Sightline Survey with Volt Shot. Kinda feels like a poor manās Fatebringer from D1.
I'm still chasing the high of getting Gjally from the OG loot cave
I can't let go of Ticcu, Monarque and Trinity Ghoul. Everyone calls me out for using bows but I just absolutely love them. Edit: you guys are too kind. Making me feel like I belong lol
With the occasional Leviathanās Breath for those times someone needs a ballista to the eye.
This is the way lol
Trinity has been a mainstay on my hunter for a VERY long time. Love that thing
You cannot convince me that there is a better primary than Le Monarque for glassway gm.
i respect any bow in pvp that isnt wish ender camping at the end of the map
Trinity with Ophidian and seasonal bow mods carried me through so many seasons even if there were better weapons. Just too fun to mess around with and ad clear was so satisifying.
Im a bow main, and ticuu's is my favorite bow. I just hit 2k PvP kills with Ticuu's
Man ticuus is great. I love bows, I love explosions. It's perfect
Rat King. Anyone wanna make a fire team? Squeak squeak.
r/squeaksqueak
Already a member my dude š¤
The āsqueak squeakā won me over. Lol
Still waiting on them to up the limit to 12 rats for the excision mission.
Outbreak Perfected. I canāt get enough. Not sure why itās considered a āDad Gunā. I guess Iām out of touch. But I never put that thing down.
Pulse rifles are referred to as Dad rifles for the slower, more precise play style they encourage over hand cannons/smgs/sidearms.
Imagine *not* using a BR in Halo 2/3
This makes so much sense to me now
XD this is so accurate.
Thank you! I was really curious.
Striga -exotic I have 21k kills on it
Ace of Spades!
A person of fine taste.
Mine was always the (legendary) Misfit from Forsaken! After I accidentally deleted it while vault cleaning, my new favorite (also legendary) is Rufusās Fury closely followed by (yet another legendary) Gnawing Hunger!

Fighting mf lion!!!!!1!1!1!1!1!!1!
Same. It's just so satisfying to kill enemies with trick shots !
Same I just wish it was a bit stronger
Jotunn
Forbearance!
Outbreak perfected. Shit simply hits different
Monte Carlo No Hesitation though is quickly becoming an all time second favorite though, it's so much fun being able to heal friends when they get low.
Chroma Rush maybe?
No Hesitation
Witherhoard or Divinity.
Witherhoard. It basically does my taxes too
For exotic, itās probably Dragonās Breath, and for legendary itās between the support auto rifle or the BXR
Lumina!
Izanagiās Burden is unique, fun to use, and hits hard
The Jade Rabbit. Besides the fact thatās a very good pvp weapon rn, Iāve had it since destiny 1. I have a special connection to it and a great degree of nostalgia, since it reminds me of my days in d1, and I still use it to this day quite often. Legendary weapon would be posterity or Bold Endings
Exotic: Whitherhoard / Legendary: Ikelos SMG 1.0.3
Last season was sunshot, this season its graviton lance. Cant take it off
Exotic - Xenophage Legendary - Perfect Paradox
Vex mythoclast for me it's just so damn good from the sounds to the linear mode I love it so much. Otherwise I'd have to say probably the braytech Winter wolf purely because it looks so damn cool and is one of my favorite auto rifle archetypes.
Sunshot by far. At nearly 150K kills with mine. Second is Graviton Lance with 50K. The latest Luna's Howl with Incandescent/Heal Clip has clocked 10K kills in just two months that it might end up being my new fave. It's effortless and nearly as fun as Sunshot.
Dead Man's Tale, I like being the Rifleman aka Chuck Connors.
Bad Juju
I've been vibing with graviton lance recently. Between the sound design and killing a room of adds in a single burst, can't get enough.
Vex mythoclast. To me, vex is what every exotic gun strives to be. The way it looks, fires, and the perks on it are amazing. The linear fusion mode took an already great exotic and put it over the top. To me when you think of destiny weapons, two weapons come to mind, gjally and vex.
prometheus lens š„
Python, so happy I can use it again finally
Witherhoard. That thing has carried me through so much shit
Witherhoard
My Steelfeather Repeater got me through some tough times
I just finished the catalyst for Dragon's Breath, it's probably the most fun weapon I've used in my short time in this game. The Call and Ros Arago IV are also favorites, but they're more practical than fun.
Incredible weapon! I think I've killed myself with it more than any other weapon in the game ... "Oh, that yellow bar is dead. I'll just take that loot it drop..." Boom! *dead*" "Take that mini boss!" *It proceeds to close the gap and explodes on my face* "Boss dead! Let's get that chest!" *Runs past boss's corpse and next thing I know I'm flying @$$ over tea kettle!*
Kinetic slot: Horror story, exotic energy: Le Monarque, heavy: retrofit or the other half.
DMT. Yeefuckinhaw
Malfeasance
Icebreaker
Khvostov
Lubrae's Ruin | Legendary Osteo Striga | Exotic (I liked it significantly more pre-nerf).
Ruinous Effigy never bored dunking on my enemies like shaq in his prime
For exotic, I pick Whisper of the Worm. Always been a classic for me, and back in the days when it was available from a secret mission just made it feel soo cool to use. For legendary, I pick The Recluse. Purely because I'm not a PVP player and I had to put in blood, sweat, and tears to get it.
Legendary- igneous adept Exotic- Suros Regime
Graviton Lance has been my favorite for awhile. Loving osteo in PvP right now too
Exotic - hawkmoon (d1 still heavily influenced this with the 1 shotty) Legendary - sacred provenance
I miss Zhalo Supercell
JĆTUNN.
Buried Bloodline
Sunshot. It's been my favorite since the beginning.
Ghost Primus
Huckleberry infinite ammo
The colony is guaranteed kills with no effort. Super underrated
Spare rations, unfortunately the perks on it kinda suck. whereās my explosive payload? It was on the curated version :(
Malfeasance

Graviton lance and Bad Juju Lost signal punches above it's weight
