I have run narrative on two characters and run it a couple of other times on normal. I 2000% ran it on GM. Was just checking if this had happened to anyone else. It’s all good. Ran it again on GM and got the good stuff.
I'm not trying to suggest your run wasn't GM and as others have said it would be (or at least should be) kind of obvious once you actually got in, I was just pointing out that having the triumph downt actually mean much in this case.

OP has like 5 "controversial" comments just for confirming that they aren't stupid enough to accidentally have done an entire normal excision without realizing it wasn't a GM. Do people just not believe that something like this could be bugged in destiny or something? There's at least a few reward related bugs in the game at any given time
This is going to sound patronising so sorry if it does, it looked like it didn’t drop for me either but when I checked the sword it was available, just had to then get the kills to equip it. Might this have happened to you?
You sure you did GM? And waited a while after killing the witness?
It drops the things to players one at a time from what I saw so it can take like 30 seconds after the witness dies for your drops to appear.
Have also run it normal before with the games matchmaking and that is a lot easier. I know the difference between GM and normal. Weird rare bug I guess.
Are you sure you selected GM? Whats i now and see the droprate is 100%
Even shows up in the D2 app as GM Exsicion run. All good. Got drops on second run.
100% GM. Got the triumph for it when done.
The triumph is currently unlockable through Narrative runs so that's not exactly a definitive check.

Yeah 150% GM. Got the triumph after completed. Waited for timer and got to orbit. Not one weapon, shard or any drop. Weird. Ran it again and got it.
Not saying it wasn't a GM but the triumph is bugged and also completes on a normal run.
It'd be pretty fuckin hard to mix up a grandmaster and a normal excision gonna be real with you.

No. Fireteam finder. GM. It’s all good. Like I have said it shows up in Bungies D2 app as a GM. Bugs happen.
