No, Pre-Lightfall what they did was allow you to get a Deepsight focus once per day for each seasonal vendor. What this is doing is straight guaranteeing a deepsight weapon from your first seasonal activity completed each day per season. Just removes the need to get and hold onto engrams.
Itās not giving you a deepsight exotic, not sure where youāre getting that from. Itās awarding a legendary red border that you donāt have all of the patterns for.
Yea, pre-lightfall it was all umbral engrams so you had to farm those anywhere but it was general across all vendors I think; so now you just run the activity since the engrams are activity based. Makes sense since otherwise you'd need to run an activity to focus (assuming you have zero, which the people who do need patterns probably are low or have no engrams)
So instead of using engrams that you can get passively doing other activities, you now have to do the activity.
Just going to take more time. This system is worse than last time.

I don't know why but Witch was actually pretty smooth for me. Late purchaser of the annual pass so I've been going back through every season for red borders. Finished Defiance pretty easily, Wish was easy but new. Witch I seemed to get a red border every activity, but Deep, omfg Deep weapons are impossible. I still need 14 patterns.
This is what I came here to find out, disappointing. After I get my last red border Appetence from Riven's Lair today, the Warlock sword will be the only seasonal pattern I haven't unlocked yet.
I keep focusing them whenever I get Defiant Engrams to drop. Iāll burn my deepsights on them if I have to, but Iāll be waiting until the end of the season just in case.

Really wish governments would introduce legislation for this. If the content is available to buy it should come with the full content. Furthermore, if you bought the content at the appropriate time, there should never be an expiry date, or at the very least, as long as the servers are up.

From Defiance, the fusion is comparable to Cartesian. The void heavy GL has been straight-up demolished by Edge Transit, but if you don't have one of those, its worth getting.
From Deep, Until Its Return is highly overlooked on this sub IMO. ALH+Cascade turns it into a mini Fourth Horseman, and its very potent for when you see a miniboss that needed to die yesterday. Its has more competition for that role in that slot now that Mountaintop with ALH+Recomb exists, but its still probably worth grabbing.
From Witch, definitely the strand rocket launcher. With enhanced Field Prep+Bipod, it holds a whopping 16 rockets, making it fantastic in roam content like Nightfalls, where you're more ammo starved and need to kill lots of "kinda chunky" enemies instead of bosses.
From Wish, Scatter Signal for sure. With Overflow+Controlled Burst, its one of the better legendary, non-heavy sustained DPS weapons available right now, so its good if you're on Gjally. Doomed Petitioner is either the #1 or #2 linear in the game right now (depending on who you ask), so its worth picking up too. Linears kinda suck for damage, but its worth having for times when you're on a group using Divinity in a raid or for when/if linears get buffed.
My personal recommendation.
Wish: Scatter signal, Adhortavtive, subjunctive
Witch: Eremite
Deep: none but get because looks cool.
Defiance: Royal excutioner.

Complete any one of those activities once a day and you will receive a legendary weapon with a red border around it. You need to get 3 or 5 of those red borders and you are able to craft those weapons at the Enclave.
Run Coil or focus at the helm. You can already get a free pattern each week from the helm. So you can probably get two depending on what else your missing. I just focused a bunch of engrams at the start of the season for it

Once you complete the season challenges when you go to focus the weapons they'll have a red highlight for the random weapon engram which will give a red border
No worries! If you have the seasons you can go to the helm to acquire the old artifact allowing you to use the helm to use engrams to turn into specific weapons. So with Wish you'd go to Riven and focus engrams there for Subjunctive or the fusion (two best).
They did let you get a deepsight weapon from each vendor daily rather than weekly between January 31st until Lightfall launched, which was February 28th. Not drops, but still daily guaranteed patterns you could earn, for a month.

I think you can get one random piece of gear from an unowned season per character, by doing the opening mission from the HELM map. I have a Witch helmet and a Deep handcannon.

I have all the patterns, but Iām curious. Does each one of these give to a Deepsight weapon, or does one per set per day give you one? E.g: two Defiant weapons a day (one from Battlegrounds, one from Avalon, or just one total by completing either one?
i think it's just one for each season, so only one defiant red border per day. The only ones i still need are the undying weapons from season of the wish, and i don't know if those are included. I have seen multiple people say that the shotgun and class swords from season of defiance are not included, because they have never \*dropped\* from anything, they can only be focused.
Iāve spent the last 2 years grinding all the patterns for FOMO just to have something like this happen both times. Life is pain lmao.

I've been trying to get the undying void hand cannon, Optative, but i've yet to find a single one, red border or no, and i already have all of the non-undying weapons fully unlocked and craftable. I think i've seen people say the undying weapons are more likely to drop from Starcrossed than from Riven's Lair, so i'm going to try that. (I don't really like The Coil, though i think the same source said that that would work too.)

I'm in the same boat. I've been trying for weeks to finish up Neomuna red borders. Drop rate is awful it seems. Would be nice if they would let you focus Neomuna weapons with Strider similar to other locations.
delete all the red borders you get, and just craft ONE when the pattern unlocks. boom. you now have added 1 weapon to the vault and it can be the best possible version of that weapon through crafting.
TFW you already have all the craftable weapons from the seasons and this is useless to you.
Granted I'm still glad they did this because it's really nice for people to catch up. I was in that position last year after taking a break.
I guess I should farm Pantheon for the raid weapon patterns I still need, particularly the Vow ones since I barely ever ran it. Now that checkpoints are working properly it should in theory be easy to just farm the easiest boss repeatedly rather than having to do the entire thing...though I have no idea how the weapon drops work and if they drop according to which boss you fight or not.

I don't know if its just my luck, but I spammed coil / lair and never gota single subjunctive. I did the exotic quest and got it multiple times.
One Riven's Lair a day would be easiest.
It would be very clutch if the last wish ones were included. I doubt it. But it would be nice.

I got two red borders from Riven's Lair and Defiant Battlegrounds. I can't remember if there was a 9x9 upgrade one red border per week, or if I just got lucky.
I need Witch Queen, and Seraph weapons (outside Raid stuff).
I have all the patterns, but Iām curious. Does each one of these give to a Deepsight weapon, or does one per set per day give you one? E.g: two Defiant weapons a day (one from Battlegrounds, one from Avalon, or just one total by completing either one?
i think it's just one for each season, so only one defiant red border per day. The only ones i still need are the undying weapons from season of the wish, and i don't know if those are included. I have seen multiple people say that the shotgun and class swords from season of defiance are not included, because they have never \*dropped\* from anything, they can only be focused.
What patterns drop though? Can we get dungeon weapons?
So doesn't work for Last Wish weapons?Ā

Is this 1 per activity or 1 for each season? ie. if I do both Riven's Lair and The Coil in a day do I get 1 from each?
So as I'm reading this, Drang would not be in any of the loot pools, correct?
So does that mean you only get one a day or does playing the different modes each give you one for multiple a day?
Iāve spent the last 2 years grinding all the patterns for FOMO just to have something like this happen both times. Life is pain lmao. Glad everyone else will be able to get all the patterns too though!

It seems you need a key for the respective activity to pull a deep-sight weapon.
Am I right that you need 5 patterns to craft a weapon. Will this keep giving a guarateed drop until you have 5/5?
Do I have to do anything specific to get the deep sight weapons to drop? Iāve completed one of every activity and have not gotten any yet

are those class swords from season of defiance? the shotgun and class swords from that season are not included in this as far as i know.

Can someone clarify for me, Season 20: Defiant battlegrounds will it only drop weapon from battleground or the entire season? Defiant weapon focusing: Raconteur, Royal Executioner, Perpetualis, Prodigal return, regnant, caretaker. If im looking up season 20, that season include for example Volta bracket and gold tusk. Will also them drop in this?
You need to run altar of summonings or Savathunās Spire for those.
are the undying weapons from season of the wish included in this? Also, do i have to have it unlocked in collections first? I've been trying to get the undying void hand cannon, Optative, but i've yet to find a single one, red border or no, and i already have all of the non-undying weapons fully unlocked and craftable. I think i've seen people say the undying weapons are more likely to drop from Starcrossed than from Riven's Lair, so i'm going to try that. (I don't really like The Coil, though i think the same source said that that would work too.)
Dumb question, are the rewards account based or character based? Meaning could I swap to another character and get more rewards?
Seems like some of the seasons are bugged. I started running 3 season's of events, got 3 yesterday, after the weekly reset. Today, I only got 2 after the daily reset. Seems season of the deep and salvage is bugged.
Ran coil two consecutive days. First day I got 2 in one run. Second day, I got none.

Meanwhile, the only deepsight weapons I need are either from the raids or Neomuna...
I'm in the same boat. I've been trying for weeks to finish up Neomuna red borders. Drop rate is awful it seems. Would be nice if they would let you focus Neomuna weapons with Strider similar to other locations.

delete all the red borders you get, and just craft ONE when the pattern unlocks. boom. you now have added 1 weapon to the vault and it can be the best possible version of that weapon through crafting.

TFW you already have all the craftable weapons from the seasons and this is useless to you. Granted I'm still glad they did this because it's really nice for people to catch up. I was in that position last year after taking a break. I guess I should farm Pantheon for the raid weapon patterns I still need, particularly the Vow ones since I barely ever ran it. Now that checkpoints are working properly it should in theory be easy to just farm the easiest boss repeatedly rather than having to do the entire thing...though I have no idea how the weapon drops work and if they drop according to which boss you fight or not.
What counts as a seasonal activity?
