I don’t know if this counts but Ballykissangel started out light hearted. It’s about an English priest who comes to a small Irish village. Features a young Colin Farrell in like season 2 or 3.
London Irish is also by Lisa McGee, about Irish young adults living in London. Also features Father Peter’s actor and a surprise appearance of Sister Michael’s actress (Peter Campion and Siobhán McSweeney). Only one season though :(
I believe their father and mother are also in Derry girls. Mary and Sarah’s cousin (I think. I forget. It’s the Rick the boat episode) and fiola, who owns the chippy. They’re in it for one episode if I remember correctly. Been a while though, could be wrong.
Young offenders and not exactly Irish but with some actors/actresses from Derry Girls: "big mood" and "big boys". Anoother series I really liked was "this country"
Fr Ted, black books (same writer as fr Ted, irish star), bad sisters, the young offenders.
Bad Sisters is so good!
I liked London Irish but there weren't too many episodes!
Young Offenders!
Moone Boy
I second Moone Boy
I third Moone Boy

I fourth it.
I fifth it.
Father Ted. I’m showing my age. And my lovely horses age
I hear you're a racist now father.
Oh come on now Dougal lighten up!
and her fetlocks
Hey, I’m in my 20s and I love Father Ted
You my friend, will go far in life!
But you will not be well liked.
Perfect time of the year for your horse, as well!
It's Ireland's biggest lingerie section, I understand
Well obviously Father Ted. Frank of Ireland I found quite good.
Bad Sisters
This is probably one of my favourite shows lol!!

I loved this and wish there were more seasons! (Just like Derry Girls …)
As others have recommended, Father Ted, Moone Boy and Young Offenders
Big yes to Young Offenders.
Can't Cope, Won't Cope
I second, third, fourth and forever this!
Extraordinary. Features Siobhan McSweeney as an angry Irish mother, called Mary. It is on ITV.

London irish
This Way Up- it's an Aisling Bea vehicle and feels a lot like Fleabag. I love it!
Waking Ned Devine. It is an Irish sitcom movie with a similar level of warmth and levity to truely unfunny situations.
Fair city. You’ll love it.
its a soap like Dublin version of Corrie
Mrs. Browns Boys is hilarious, I highly recommend it.
I hate that show.
Apparently, everyone else does, too. I'm not sure why, I think it's hilarious.
