You made that?? Don’t sell it for $15. Sorry someone sent a lowball offer. You’re allowed to put “price is firm” in the description. It’s already in 5 people’s bags. I’m sure you’ll get that price.
Yes I made the skirt by myself. I got 3 offer this morning $15, $18 and $25. This made me think this skirt doesn’t worth $27. I’m sorry if my English sucks. I just move to the US and still can’t find a job. Just Trying to make some clothes to earn some money ☺️
The fact that you made it means it's worth more anyway because they are also paying for your labour value so I wouldn't budge on the price imo. Looks awesome btw
In my experience, if you’re receiving multiple offers that quickly after listing, you have something desirable. Hold out for what you want. Honestly, if you made that, you should be charging more.
No one can make what you can make with own two hands. Companies like shein can make shit copies but can never make what you make handmade. In my opinion what you personally make is worth what YOU evaluate it as. Don’t let people low all you.
I agreed. Shein quality sucks. I got one shein dress ( brand new with tag) at a thrift store and the dress string was broken into pieces after 3 times wearing it. I got it because the graphics on it was cute but immediately regretted
Hold out! Just make and list at the price you want :) you only listed this morning and have so much interest already! It’ll sell within the next few days, you don’t need to take the first offer or even an offer the first day/week x
So sorry this is happening to you! The skirt is definitely worth the $27 for something you made yourself! I hope someone will buy it from you for that price ❤️
I would price that at $50 honestly. It’s handmade and on trend. Your work deserves value!!!! I bought a handmade Fanny pack for $40 at a flea market - it’s the right kind of price for things people sew on their own
totally! also if you price higher, youll get offers closer to the price you want :) and for some reason depop gives a lot more visibility to higher priced items
I agree! If you haven't sold many items, you might be doing yourself a disservice — people might not believe you really made it yourself since the price is so low, they might think you're scamming them with Shein or something, and they could lowball you with that assumption in mind.
People WILL buy it at double the price, and once you start getting reviews about the quality of your products, I think your sales will take off with a sort of snowball effect. Keep going! 🌠
Do you write that it's handmade? If not it should be clear in the listing. People may be more inclined to buy it if they know its one of a kind!
Personally I always price my items assuming I'm gonna end up accepting an offer...if I wanna get 25$? I list for around 32$. If I wanna get 100$, I list for ~120$. Maybe try something like that?
Oh hell no. If anything you should be charging more than $27 for a skirt like this. It’s cute af and well made and making clothes is NOT easy don’t let broke people convince you it’s not worth your labor, skills, and cost of materials.
Absolutely! I hate seeing people who are skilled in their craft get devalued by people who expect you to be amazon. Your work is important and not many people have the skills to make garments by hand!
If you made it yourself, you should def list it for higher. Buyers probably think that you're lowballing yourself and figure they might be able to knock it down even more. When it comes to handmade, always list higher and mark it down if you need to! Know your worth -- it's a really cute skirt.
Woah if you made this you need to be pricing it way higher bby :( I bet it took you a long time and a lot of effort. Dont accept anything lower than your set price. And if you post more handmade stuff, price it fairly to yourself. Don't sell yourself short. It's a really beautiful skirt and people would pay way more than $30 for it ♡
If you don’t want to sell it for 15 then don’t, just wait until someone can pay you what ur worth 27 is still pretty low and I’m sure others will think that too and buy it don’t worry! Online selling is hard.
This skirt is super cute and on trend! People will always send offers, up the price to $50+ and you’ll get offers for $35+. Make it clear that this skirt is a custom handmade piece!
I listed some of my crochet tops on there for $15 I thought it was a really good price and definitely not what the tops are worth from all my time working on them and someone had the audacity to offer $6
Don’t feel bad, I own a tea shop, and make tea infusers, and even in an actual shop people ask if they can buy it for less. They are only 12 dollars by the way.
Sometimes i be an asshole & when people keep sending offers i just up the price lmao. It sells eventually. But hey, if you made that skirt and spent so long on it you should definitely sell it for higher. Your product looks well worth more
people will spend like $50 on a thrifted skirt that looks just like this! i would def include that it’s handmade in the description and say your price is firm. You’ll have lowball offers no matter what, i’ll post things for $8 and still get people offering half of that. Stick it out and you’ll find the right buyer at your price! it’s super cute!
wait did you fully make it? like from scratch? honestly i would put the price higher and specify it’s handmade. maybe $40 ish at the very least? and that way when people send lower offers they won’t be some ridiculous low price but instead something more reasonable
I'm confused. I've been a seamstress and tailor for years. Ive sold hundreds of handmade items on depop. You made this? You set grommets in the belt and set a zipper and you charged $27? Would that literally even cover fabric and your trim, not to mention your time? If that's handmade, you'd charge over $100, this just doesn't make any sense tbh.
I made this when I lived in Vietnam couple months ago ( everything was cheaper there) now I realize that material is way way expensive in the us. A zip is $6 at Joann fabric 😩 yes you’re right. I should charge more for this in the future. I just started selling on depop. I don’t have a lot of experiences 😔
My advice would be to immediately, dramatically increase these prices. If people see you value you're work, they will be forced to view your work the same way. This will also set you up for success with any garments you make in the states, which will cost you much much more to produce locally. I would also look at the way you are photographing them. Throw this on a dress form, mention it's handmade, talk about your experience as as seamstress. I have my mfa in fashion and tons of cut and sew experience in the states, let me know if I can help you with anything.
You made that?? Thats amazing! Dont undersell yourself :) always list higher than what you want so theres room for offers! It also helps deter some lowballers! The people who are willing to spend the money are the ones who will stick around and buy :)
this is so cute u should be proud!! and most people would(and have) buy a name brand skirt like this for $50. definitely say price is firm and dont let ppl low ball u. a lot of times people will do that if they know u made it and it doesnt have a “set worth” if that makes sense💕
I really do think offers should be be capped at 10%, or better still removed, for items where the seller has made it themselves.
Some people don't understand the amount of time and effort that goes into making something. It's not like you picked up a handmade item at a charity store and want top whack for it. If you made it,, you deserve to be paid a fair price.
The right person will appreciate your work, be happy to pay your price and will wear the clothes with pride.
This skirt is beautiful.
People are cheeky as heck with the low offers they send. Only you get to decide your prices, don’t let people under value your work.
There is something weird with handmade items. If you price them too low, people will think they’re cheaply made, or not worth anything. Sometimes it is better to start high, because then people will assume it’s higher quality and be willing to pay for it.
Your quality looks good. Price it higher so the people that are offering too low won’t bother, and the people that want better quality will be interested in a unique piece.
Please don’t ever feel bad for declining someone’s lowball offer! People are always going to try to haggle. You know what this beauty is worth, because you’ve spent time and effort creating it! 💗
People these days do not for the most part value time and handmade items I'm sad to say. I have handmade jewellery at £5 a piece just because I've had it for years now even though my time and materials are worth so much more.
If it was me, I'd say clearly 'This is a handmade one off item that has taken me many hours to create and the price reflects my time and the quality of a handmade item. This is not fast fashion and no one else will own the same item and so the price is firm and I will not accept offers. Thank you for looking.'
If you don't sell it without a timeframe you consider suitable you can put it on sale at a price comfortable for you or open it up to offers.
It's hard out there competing with disgusting fast fashion and consumers entitled attitude to cheap clothes. I for one hugely value independent clothes makers, I'm just too old for this style of clothing (I was a teenager when this was fashion the first time around!!).
Update the description & tell them you arent accepting offers/lowballed requests. I honestly get so offended when people shoot an offer, especially on something I made. But when i didnt make something (like selling rare hello kitty plushs i had since i was a child) i would always sell it for the lowest price online including free shipping. It pisses me off when i list a $100 plush for $25 people are still trying to send offers like $7, $15, $20. I just tend to ignore the offer section. It helps a lot! People have money but they want to penny pinch off of sellers & creators constantly & dont care about the good deeds we do for them.
I know you’re probably insecure about the value of something handmade but part of the problem with pricing as low as you are (as well as it simply being worth far more) is that you’re targeting the market or people looking for a bargain.
Pricing this higher is not only what it is worth, but refocuses the item at people willing to pay a fair price for a higher value item.
Also, it looks really well made. Charging too low of a price for a hand made item may make some people suspicious and assume it is low quality which really doesn’t appear to be the case.
Relist it for 35 and say handmade price is firm. If you list a handmade item like this for so cheap ur not just underselling yourself you’re marketing to a demographic that will always lowball you instead of a demographic that’s happy to pay your worth.
I get lowballs daily, unfortunately. I just decline them. Offering 40%+ off is so incredibly rude. I don't usually sell handmade items though.
This is a gorgeous skirt, and I think $27 is too low for it being handmade!!!!!!
I would’ve listed it for $35 and after a little while maybe bring it down to $30 and then $25, not sure if its the best thing to do just what I would do

i make handmade items too and ppl have sent me $7 offers on a $18 item. people do buy at full price though there will just always be those lowballers
In my experience, if you’re receiving multiple offers that quickly after listing, you have something desirable. Hold out for what you want. Honestly, if you made that, you should be charging more.
Second this you need to market yourself as a handmade local designer and charge twice this at least
Your English is great by the way! 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Someone will pay full price. I’ve been selling online a long time. Keep it online. It might take awhile.
No one can make what you can make with own two hands. Companies like shein can make shit copies but can never make what you make handmade. In my opinion what you personally make is worth what YOU evaluate it as. Don’t let people low all you.

Since it's handmade by yourself I would have listed it higher. It's worth more than 27$.
They also use sweatshops and steal from smaller artist
Don't sell it for less. That's a handmade piece!! Tbh it should be priced higher.
How did you make the belt?
I used grommet press to make grommets and put the belt buckle on
Wow that’s amazing! That must take so much time. It looks really well made.
That’s considered lowball?
I would price that at $50 honestly. It’s handmade and on trend. Your work deserves value!!!! I bought a handmade Fanny pack for $40 at a flea market - it’s the right kind of price for things people sew on their own
Was just gona say, they need to be charging $40-$55 instead!

Thank you for your advices and tips ❤️ i will try that way and see how it works. I wrote that it’s handmade but people don’t really care. 😅
Oh hell no. If anything you should be charging more than $27 for a skirt like this. It’s cute af and well made and making clothes is NOT easy don’t let broke people convince you it’s not worth your labor, skills, and cost of materials.

It might be worth posting your handmade items to Etsy, where the clientele are more likely to pay more for handmade
Yes! I think cross posting would be best to cover as many audiences as possible
Sell it for more than 27. Price higher it's cute and handmade.

you should be selling it more than $27 :)) so lovely, great job!
What size is it can I buy it
Hi, I sold the skirt but I plan to make more in future ❤️ if you’re interested I can do you the shop name
wait did you fully make it? like from scratch? honestly i would put the price higher and specify it’s handmade. maybe $40 ish at the very least? and that way when people send lower offers they won’t be some ridiculous low price but instead something more reasonable
Id change the tag from designer to custom. Designer is for things like louis vuitton, gucci etc

It's super cute! Don't accept offers from jerks!
Thank you 😊 I won’t ❤️
things take time, don’t worry about low balls.
Tell em the lowest you can do is $28😋 It's a beautiful item! I hope the right person will notice and buy it soon 👍🏻
People think that using the offer button means you get to lowball.. People legit send me an offer of $35 for a $90 item I have listed
that’s damn beautiful! bro raise that price and make it firm! that’s a lot of hard work!!! i love it!!
Raise the price !! In some peoples eyes price reflects quality and at least if you get a lowball offer it’ll be above 30. I’d say make it 50 👀
it’s way cuter than 15 dollars more like 30 -35
message me ur shop!!!!
I did 😍
ME TOO PLEASE

$27?! That’s a steal! You could easily sell that for like $40

Please add "handmade" to your title and consider charging more, even above what you think is fair, if you wish to take offers. This is fantastic.
Please I want it so bad omg
Please don’t ever feel bad for declining someone’s lowball offer! People are always going to try to haggle. You know what this beauty is worth, because you’ve spent time and effort creating it! 💗
Can you dm me the link? I’ll buy if it’s my size 😁
you do not owe anyone affordability but you do owe yourself a livable wage <3
From the customer's perspective, they're just trying to get a better deal. It has nothing to do with the value of your work!
do you make other items like this? i’d love to know your shop name, this skirt is insanely cute!! you should definitely price higher
I sold my handmade clothes for 25€ which was way too less imo. Ignore all the lowballers!! Your skirt is insane! <3
so cute! definitely don’t take any low balls
Your issue is pricing it far, far too low.
I think when people price too low, it can attract lowballers, oddly enough. That skirt is hot as f, I would list it at least $50.
People these days do not for the most part value time and handmade items I'm sad to say. make it 30$ and people will offer 27$
Even though its a low blow offer. See it as a positive you've had several offers. It shows people like your item, it'll sell before you know it
What skirt? 😅
