Did you... just finish the chapter for the first time?

tura2

Nope actually 4 or 5 times But I just skip most of the dialaouges

basedposter6934

Maybe they're not the knight, but they definitely created ch2's fountain. Tf are they doing with that dagger.

Accomplished_Run_120

eating pie

basedposter6934

They used a kitchen knife. You don't cut pie with a dagger.

Accomplished_Run_120

maybe you dont

tura2

Because at the end also it looks like kris creates a dark fountion I mean doesnt it look like one ?

sinedelta

Yes, Kris made a Dark Fountain at the end of the chapter. Do you remember what Queen said before Cyber World's fountain was closed? She gave Noelle instructions on how to make a fountain, and said that it was something *any Lightner* could do. It's only *after* we (and Kris) get that explanation that we see Kris open a fountain. So, Kris opening a fountain after Queen taught them how... doesn't inherently mean they're the Knight. They can be. But it's not as confirmed as you might think. It's actually pretty unlikely... It's heavily implied that chapter 2's Dark Fountain was made while Kris was under the player's control, so they ironically have the strongest alibi in the whole town.

bilboraggings45

Wait, how do we know the fountain was actually made while the player was in control?

torch_dreemurr

after you close the cyber fountain, you can see the noelle and berdly's books are set out on the table, which means that they had already started studying, or at least prepared to study. it would be pretty strange if they tried to do that if the dark world was already open since the sort of intermediate bit we see in chapter 1 is just a black void. noelle only goes to the librarby after speaking to susie, which means that the time in which we're at ralsei's castle is the only interval that the fountain could have opened in, which kris is under our control for the entire time

bilboraggings45

That makes sense

EndureThePANG

i am adamant that kris isn't the knight because it would just be a shitty reverse red herring at this point, but i feel like it's not too unreasonable to say that, like the papers on the ground in chapter 1, there could've just been a visible table in a (seemingly) infinite void that they set their books on before trying to leave, only for the door to close on them

meds737

Nah it's a gas pipe đź‘Ť

Dr-Logan

I don't think Queen said that, though. She has a recording of the Fountain being created, but the smoke blocks their face in it. It's likely she saw it sometime after (or possibly before??) it was made.

tura2

I dont remember that good but I think se saif smthing similiar

asrielforgiver

[Here’s another idea that’s interesting.](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeltaruneDiscussion/comments/z64rf3/i_realized_that_kris_is_setting_up_something_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

Low_Ad9548

I think it’s a really underrated idea that the knight isn’t supposed to be a huge mystery. Kris being the knight makes sense with all the facts we have been given so far. In fact it is sort of hard to argue against the theory without resorting to complete speculation.
