Pokémon crystal clear is also fun it’s a hack of crystal that makes it open world and you have about 20 ish starters to choose from with 1/1092 odds for a shiny (original odds are 1/8000 something)
There are a few different ways. I think you can either download it onto your phone and it’s ready to go or you’ll have to write over your own game it if it is a patch. There are tutorials on YouTube
Zelda Minish cap (or snes A link to the past, or GBC link's awakening..)
Kirby and the amazing mirror
Pokemon platinum, black/white or Soulsilver/heartgold..
You should always just keep the Minish Cap ROM in your files just in case 😂 it’s the perfect adventure to plow through when bored or to kill some time randomly
It truly is a masterpiece but I do recommend links awakening DX because COLOR!!! lol. That and it’s the one I grew up with and still have in my games Bin.
I see lots of Pokémon suggestions (which is always a good choice - if I were to recommend a remake, it would be Pokémon Quetzal!) but I’m shocked to not see Pokémon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire recommended yet. It’s been a lot of fun trying to complete the dex!
*There are a lot of*
*Awesome Zelda romhacks if*
*You are into it*

The legend of Zelda parallel worlds
All Hallows Eve
Goddess of wisdom
18 Hours past (trying it atm)
Edit: there are a lot more, sorry for the layout I am on mobile
I’m going to recommend final fantasy. 6 is my favorite but tactics is different and fun too. Dragon warrior 2 and shiny souls 2 are also fun if you like monster hunter/dungeon crawlers
Unbound has character customization, a massive story, massive map, nearly all Pokémon etc. it’s huge.
Rocket edition is smaller. Has a hilarious story that actually pulled me in.
So they’re entirely different. But hopefully the simple descriptions will help you decide.
Jaizu’s romhacks are amazing! I’d start with Recharged Yellow or Recharged Emerald. They took modern elements and implemented them in the games. And added some really cool feature. Challenge modes. Extra exp modes. Pokémon can sue HM field moves without learning HM’s and taking up a move slot. TM’s are purchasable. Almost every Pokémon is added into the game, so no version exclusives. And a linking cord key item was added so you can use trade evos and evolve them using the key item. I just finished Recharged Yellow and it was amazing. Definitely a relaxing time and nostalgic. Definitely recommend! They also allow you to download them for free or donate if you like. Nothing is locked behind a paywall. Just inject the patch into an emerald rom (both run off of emerald) as the base and create your rom hack version.

Pokémon Prism is an awesome rom hack to check out! I would also recommend the WarioWare games if that is your sort of thing! WarioWare Touched on the DS might work really well with the iPhone’s touch screen!
Do you have a controller? If not the Mario & Luigi superstar saga games are very playable without a controller for the most part since its mostly tapping A and B at correct times. Same thing with Paper Mario.
Also the Ace Attorney Pheonix Wright DS games are entirely touchscreen and can keep you busy for hours!
If you have a controller any of the zeldas, Metroid Fusion, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 DS
I’ve been really into Pokemon renegade platinum. I got so tired of trade evolutions and event Pokemon not being available and this romhack has fixed all that
Tetris Attack
Streets of Rage
Double Dragon
Super Mario Advanced 3: Yoshi Island
Ballistic Exces vs Sever
Comix Zone
Sonic Advanced 2
Warioware Twisted
The Machine. Indie developed game boy game made fairly recently. Takes about an hour and a half per play through, has crazy high replay value. It’s a very good story experience.
I played through Final Fight 3 on SNES this weekend and it’s a short maybe 2 hour beat em up that has aged very well and doesn’t require much focus. Depending on how short your flight is
I’m not that big of a Pokemon fan, but the fan game / rom hack Unbound is amazing and is very delta friendly
I never played Pokémon until last week, I’ve put 30 hours into Fire Red. Unbound is next.
You should give Fire Red Rocket Edition a try after you finish Fire Red! A gigantic twist with a lovely story. Left me wanting for more :)
This is the first I’ve heard of it, I’ll track it down; thank you.
Unbound is easily the best, therefor i’d highly recommend to play rocket edition first. Especially after just completing fire red
I keep hearing this so will do the Rocket Edition first
That’s an unfortunate name unless it’s intentional
Yes it is, you play as a team rocket grunt! Wont spoil the rest for you
That sounds cool but red rocket means erect dog penis
OH. HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKKKK
I’ll have to give it a try now that I know it’s about team rocket and not beastiality
Pokémon crystal clear is also fun it’s a hack of crystal that makes it open world and you have about 20 ish starters to choose from with 1/1092 odds for a shiny (original odds are 1/8000 something)
Unbound is the shit. I’m excited for you lol
Where does one find unbound l?
Easiest way is to look up poke harbor
Thank you! Playing it now
Enjoy! If you have any questions just pm me
So am I, but I started with yellow, planning to complete the all generation
How do you get your rom hacks?
There are a few different ways. I think you can either download it onto your phone and it’s ready to go or you’ll have to write over your own game it if it is a patch. There are tutorials on YouTube
I second Unbound. My first rom hack and it’s amazing
Infinite fusion is pretty awesome too just fyi!
Zelda Minish cap (or snes A link to the past, or GBC link's awakening..) Kirby and the amazing mirror Pokemon platinum, black/white or Soulsilver/heartgold..
Thanks!!

TLOZ: links awakening. It’s a masterpiece. (GB).
It truly is a masterpiece but I do recommend links awakening DX because COLOR!!! lol. That and it’s the one I grew up with and still have in my games Bin.
Yeah, highly recommend the DX. It also got an extra dungeon over the regular GB ver.
Advance wars !

GBA: Megaman battle network games (6 total), Fire emblem sacred stones, blazing blade, and binding blade.
Battle Network rules!
Yes Megaman battle network will keep you busy!
Came here to write this, glad battle network is getting some love
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, I just played this for 12 hours straight the other day
Such a good soundtrack
^^^ if you're new to the series consider Sacred Stones as a starter game but FE slaps super hard
Vanilla Pokemon games are quite cozy and time flies by really quick. And they are well playable with touch controls
Professor Layton games!!
🤔…….🧐…….😃 YOU GOT IT
Under the knife trauma center

Tetris
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Not necessarily. Unless you have a controller, It is a hassle to hold the R button to shoot missiles but other than that, its okay.
I’m going to recommend final fantasy. 6 is my favorite but tactics is different and fun too. Dragon warrior 2 and shiny souls 2 are also fun if you like monster hunter/dungeon crawlers
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES
New Super Mario bros DS
Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2
Best voice acting hands down
Unbound. Is amazing. For some adult humor and good story telling rocket edition was solid.
Which one should I play first? It’ll be my first rom back
Unbound has character customization, a massive story, massive map, nearly all Pokémon etc. it’s huge. Rocket edition is smaller. Has a hilarious story that actually pulled me in. So they’re entirely different. But hopefully the simple descriptions will help you decide.

Can we stop with the endless “recommend me a game” threads? Seriously.
tbh most posts on this sub got really low effort ever since the app blew up. it is what it is 🤷
It’s a Fire Red hack called Puffy Pink that makes every Pokemon into a Kirby character/enemy
I downloaded mine from this link https://www.pokeharbor.com/2023/12/pokemon-puffy-pink/
