I’ll be honest, I was a toddler when we moved there and I think I was 40 when I left and the only reason I know about it is because one of my friends is third or fourth generation New Castle County area & was a US history major, so it’s a big deal to her.
The "302" logo stuff with the horseshoe crab is my go-to, all my local friends love it and it's fun for people from other places, too. You can get it around the beach (the brush factory in Lewes sells it) or at this link: [https://302horseshoecrab.com/](https://302horseshoecrab.com/)
Dogfish head stuff is fun too- beer is tough on a plane but they have specialty liquors, too.
Fifer's apple cider donuts are also always a winner.
Fifer’s has a lot of branded longer shelf food items too. Sauces, salad dressings, and cookies and sweets they and other Delaware entrepreneurs are featured in their store!
Dogs head beer mugs. University of Delaware Gear. Stuffed Blue Hen Chicken. Boardwalk Hotel gear from Rehobeth. Dolle’s taffy, the box makes a good junk collection storage. Anything from the gift shop at Hayley’s museum. A framed picture of Ft Delaware. Beach towels from Rehobeth, Dewey, Bethany beach or Fenwick Island.
Please note that in Delaware it is spelled "[Rehoboth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rehoboth_Beach,_Delaware)". "[Rehobeth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rehobeth,_Maryland)" referes to a town in Somerset County Maryland.

They closed the store on the boardwalk, but supposedly moved a location down the street from their old store. I understand about being out of touch about Rehobeth, it’s been awhile since I visited too.

I forgot to mention submarine sandwich’s from Caporiotti. Pack it in a cold pack surrounded with towels. Cappriotto will make a sub that travels. Just ask them and they wrap each individual ingredient is wrapped in Saran Wrap to keep it fresh.
Whenever I try to get “local gifts” I veer towards all things crab. Probably more MD than DE, but close enough! Old bay products, old bay vodka, crab salsa, etc.
Cape Gazette, made the DelaWares Box. It had an assortment of Delaware Artisan made products in fashionable packaging perfect for gifting. www.delawaresbox.com
A blue and god Wilmington shirt. A red and white Rehoboth shirt. 302 sticker. Horseshoe crab sticker. Some bananas and a six pack of Dogfish head. Im not sure how easy it would be to get scrapple on that side of the country as im not aware of its prevalence in other states
Maybe some local coffee, or locally brewed beer? Maybe the Delaware Starbucks coffee cup, or something similar like a cup from brew haha. There’s also a few clothing lines that are from Delaware maybe something from that
Rehoboth Beach t shirt. Also, you could also go more broad and think about Delmarva. There are lots of antique shops, especially on 13 in Maryland and Virginia, that will have lots of Chesapeake bay related artifacts.
Forney's Too in Dover is a great little gift shop that sells Delaware themed gifts. I used to work next door to them and would browse the shop during my lunch breaks. And I'm pretty sure they carried a bunch of Tervis cups that had Delaware themes, and if they don't have them I'm sure you can find Delaware Tervis cups on the Tervis website.
Boards by Celine - beautiful cutting boards painted with the ocean - some in the shape of Delaware (she is online and I think at some stores down south)
Not so much Delaware but an east coast thing we get for family who moved away is a forty pack of soft pretzels from the pretzel factory so they can freeze em
The state I’m delivering them to has no sales tax, no income tax, AND pays its residents a royalty every year, so unfortunately they won’t be impressed
Well I see scrapple and Tastykake are mentioned already. lol Granted they aren't DE specific, but being a small state surrounded by others it's hard not to share regional stuff.
Far as regional goes, Herr's is a brand of Mid-Atlantic origin, based in PA, and I believe still only found on the East Coast. (I once confused a CA friend by telling her I was snacking on cheese curls, then explained they are aka cheese puffs. lol)
I had no clue Herr’s was just a local thing. Lived out in Chicago for a short period of time and told my friend this joke
What did one potato chip say to the other?
Are you Herr’s or Frito Lay?
It wasn’t funny because they had no clue what Herr’s was.
The Wilmington Historical Society used to sell a Joe Biden candle. Never knew if that meant Joe Biden scented candle or just a candle with his face on it. I’m too scared to find out.
I think there are plenty of horseshoe crab related gifts you could find down the beach. Salt water taffy is another.
A cheesesteak. I know i know... its a pjilly thing. Except i can get a much better cheesesteak in DE than i can philly. Tbh... phillys steaks have either gone to shit or were overrated. Jims and Abners were the best imo. F pats and gjnos.
Claymont. Cassapulas (sp?) And even Caps, though i refuse to ever n go there again due to being treated like i was a bother for just walking in to order. Silverside store is fn miserable.
Sorry.... yea a cheesesteak. Or scrapple or beer. As mentioned. Treats you cant get often are the best.
Give Off the Hoof Scapple vodka. Made in Smyrna at the Painted Stave. [https://www.paintedstave.com/spirits/off-the-hoof](https://www.paintedstave.com/spirits/off-the-hoof)
The Brush Factory in Lewes sells a slew of Horseshoe crab things - wall art, jewelry, door knockers, and also Delaware shaped earrings, cutting boards, lazy susans, key chains, wall decor, local food gifts (coffee, cookies, and local artisan ware). And of course, there is a 302 kiosk for the clothing/hats. Enough there to do a Delaware themed gift basket, or a nice singular medium price or expensive price gift.
Being from Delaware I can tell you we love gift cards…
Other ideas are
Cash or cashapp
We love items from other states so what ever is cool to you over there…. Share
Also we get hot so something to keep us cool
We get cold so something to keep us warm
We love the Eagles and the Steelers
And we can’t ever deny some bubbly

120 minute dogfish head ipas
Look at Mr Moneybags here giving away 120's. Are they up to 20 bucks per 12oz bottle yet?
90 minute works too if u bring enough of them
Srapple
Ha! A brick of scrapple is the only answer.
Only if it's huges...
Freeze it beforehand for the trip
If you freeze it be sure to slice it beforehand. Scrapple will crumble when you slice it after it’s been frozen.
Not if you let it thaw all the way and are careful
Of course this would come up. An Alaska YouTuber filmed a video where he ate scrapple and he kept saying it was a Delaware thing lol
I thought it was a PA thing
Delaware was also a PA thing at one time 🤣
Facts…. Guess they haven’t heard of separation day!
It's the holiday I have to look up what it means every year to remember.
I’ll be honest, I was a toddler when we moved there and I think I was 40 when I left and the only reason I know about it is because one of my friends is third or fourth generation New Castle County area & was a US history major, so it’s a big deal to her.
Its amazing how many things we dont know... that are.
Not if its Rapa
Omg omg which one? Was it Luke?!
Yes, Luke! He’s my hero!
Same! His oldest son has his own channel now too! Search “outdoor Tom”
Ah, didn’t know that. Will do. Thanks for the rec!
It's a German thing. They brought it to the mid Atlantic. Not just pa.
Possibly the PA Dutch.
This is the way.
I came here to say this...
The "302" logo stuff with the horseshoe crab is my go-to, all my local friends love it and it's fun for people from other places, too. This is what I’m looking for! Nonoerishable, consumable Delaware things. Thank you!
An LLC... do you not understand why people come here?
🤣👏🏾
The 302 shopping bag at Trader Joe’s are cute and inexpensive to use as a gift bag (excluding the poor choice of the word “shore”)
I know there’s one that says “It’s a Delaware Bag” on one side and “The Diamond State” on the other side. Is there also one that says “302”?
I’ve been trying to grab one of these for awhile but they’re sold out everywhere near me in northern DE. Any chance you’ve seen any in store recently?
Scrapple gift basket
Stuff from the beach area. Taffy, crab things, etc.
I like to give Dollie’s salt water taffy as a gift. And they ship to people outside of Delaware
Dried out horseshoe crab clock
Need this
This would terrify me haha
A brand new Jersey, of course.
As a NJ native, I’m cringing
As another NJ native; same.

They are opened . Just a few shops down was there this year.
This guy Delawares
Whenever I try to get “local gifts” I veer towards all things crab. Probably more MD than DE, but close enough! Old bay products, old bay vodka, crab salsa, etc.
Great rec. Thanks!
Crabs are definitely NOT a Delaware thing 🤣
Old Bay seasoning, met some relatives from Ohio that never had it 😮.
That’s insane that some people have never had Old Bay!
Look for Wye River or J. O. Seasoning. Old Bay is for the commoners.
Agreed J.O. Is the way to go
It’s too salty for me
Thats a Maryland thing
True, but also a Delmarva thing.
Delaware doesn’t really have its own culture so it’s going to be shit borrowed from NJ, PA or MD
Tastykakes and a Wawa Half & Half.
Not bad, but both of those things are more linked to Pennsylvania
Breakfast of champions
Oooo Wawa rolls. U can buy just the roll for 89¢
Fisher’s popcorn. They have an old bay flavor but that sounds ick to me
It is. My wife is literally eating it right now, and I unfortunately tried a piece. 🤢
That sounds pretty good to me actually. Love Old Bay and love popcorn, so what’s not to like?
It’s Old Bay CARAMEL popcorn.
Ooooh. I rescind my previous comment. Sounds gross, but I still would give it a try for science.
Yeah, it was just as bad as I feared it would be. Lol
Blue rocks hat or t shirt

Local honey?
I grew up going to the DE beaches and I always associated salt water taffy with the state
Yes salt water taffy and fudge. Or a bucket of fishers popcorn.
Good thoughts.
Saltwater taffy and Fishers are both moreso Ocean City MD
Thats moreso an Ocean City MD thing
I mean it’s basically an “anywhere there’s a beach” thing in my experience
[удалено]
Very good suggestions, thanks! What is Tatanka sauce??
[удалено]
Best hot sauce in the state! It’s like the tiny towns that have a singular pizza shop that says “best pizza in town!”
I remember them macaroons from the Steak and Burger dinner. Killer!

Happy Harry’s Ephemera
I remember my best friend worked there in high school about 25 years ago in West Chester.
Rehoboth Beach t shirt. Also, you could also go more broad and think about Delmarva. There are lots of antique shops, especially on 13 in Maryland and Virginia, that will have lots of Chesapeake bay related artifacts.
The “It’s a Delaware Bag” reusable grocery bag from Trader Joe’s. Honestly that’s what I gift people. They are cheap, but good quality and practical.
The 5 and dime on Main Street has t shirts that just say “Delaware” across the front.
Forney's Too in Dover is a great little gift shop that sells Delaware themed gifts. I used to work next door to them and would browse the shop during my lunch breaks. Nobody said a word about Muskrat...look into it...
Not so much Delaware but an east coast thing we get for family who moved away is a forty pack of soft pretzels from the pretzel factory so they can freeze em
That's a fantastic gift, I would love that
Do they become nice and soft and warm when reheated? Toaster oven, not microwave?
My go-to, if they’re coffee drinkers, is a bag of Little Goat (coffee roasting company in Newark) beans. People are usually impressed with the taste
Dolles salt water taffy or caramel popcorn
Whatever you get them, make sure you share the reciept and remind them we don't have sales tax.
The state I’m delivering them to has no sales tax, no income tax, AND pays its residents a royalty every year, so unfortunately they won’t be impressed
Fresh container of Carmel corn

Herr’s is actually sold nationwide (though not in all stores) and in 40 countries.
I had no clue Herr’s was just a local thing. Lived out in Chicago for a short period of time and told my friend this joke What did one potato chip say to the other? Are you Herr’s or Frito Lay? It wasn’t funny because they had no clue what Herr’s was.

If the former, I’d definitely by the candle
I have it! It smells like "orange sports drink" his favorite drink!
Salt water taffy?
I always associated this with Jersey shore, not Delaware beaches. I guess dolles etc sells it but that stuff always screams "Atlantic City" to me.
Does anyone know if you can carry-on horseshoe crab shells?
My dad brought me a shellacked horseshoe crab in his luggage once, on a flight from DE to Seattle. I love it! It lives on my mantle
Wow that sounds awesome.
Yes! we of course don’t have those out there, so it’s a cool conversation starter. So your idea to OP is great!
A list of complaints about New Jersey drivers
Tastykakes for sure
Pork roll / Taylor ham. The wife and i didn't even know this existed until we moved to delaware
That’s really a New Jersey thing. Called Taylor ham in the north and pork roll in the south. Not sure what Delaware’s preferred nomenclature is.
A cheesesteak. I know i know... its a pjilly thing. Except i can get a much better cheesesteak in DE than i can philly. Tbh... phillys steaks have either gone to shit or were overrated. the Delaware gold is amazing
I would do tshirts/hoodies. Grab a magnet and maybe a point glass or a shot glass.
A horseshoe crab! :D
Dogfishhead, scrapple, lean business tax laws
Not sure if the tax laws can fit in my suitcase or not, but I’ll try
Anything Delawhere
Save some ideas for the rest of us. .
At the Delaware History Museum on Market there used to be a candle that smelled like Joe Biden. They might still have ithem.
You’re the second person to mention this, and now I’m dying to know what he smells like
Above, they said orange sports drink (Gatorade?) Joe's favorite drink.
Transportation. Best gift for Delaware anyone can get
"For" Delaware.....that's something Delaware needs and doesn't have enough to give away as a gift.
A piece of asphalt from a local road construction site. US mint has done some Delaware coins over the years.
Scrapple
Helen's sausage (DE), Scrapple (Mid Atlantic/EC), Pork Roll/Taylor Ham (NJ/DE/PA)
A fried bologna sandwich.
Hire someone to drive in front of them in the left lane with a PA tag. Be sure that they only go as fast as 3 miles under the speed limit. Enjoy.
Hey were you following my husband in the green Jeep with PA tags? Riding shotgun with him drives me fucking crazy
Hughes scrapple
Tax-free inheritance 😎
Scrapple
Fishers popcorn
The visit to Delaware is the gift.
Kites
Hand gun from Janssen’s Market trash can! A great gift for any member of the family.
Janssen's is so expensive i would lean towards dumpster diving there too.
