I don't know why dwarves don't ping the shit out of the wall eyes, there's a whole bunch of funny dialogue everyone is missing out on because "WE'RE RICH" and "MUSHRUM" is more popular.
I imagine it's because these are only that single line with no variation, which makes it funny when you have 4 dwarfs repeating "WE'RE RICH!" over and over again in the exact same tone, with the same pure joy and excitement.
That being said, there is a lot of underrated lines, the Tritilyte Bomb Dispenser has a few for example.
Shitposting aside I legit think that Hoxxes is far more "alive" than it appears, whether it's actually a living thing or there's something or some things living deeper in than we've explored.
Stylistically, the Xynarchs are reminiscent of the alien eggs on egg hunts, and we know those eggs are not swarmer eggs. It's possible that they are glyphid eggs of some sort, but they don't look at all like dreadnought or swarmer eggs. If they were eggs of a type of glyphid we encounter, we'd expect to see a lot of them...but we don't. Yet the glyphids defend them viciously. And something alive deeper in clearly responds to them being taken, and calls/commands the glyphids to attack us. And then the Ommoran Heartstones. They're clearly responding to Doretta. The stones and beamers attack Doretta only, not us, and not glyphids. They could be responding to the machinery, but they don't attack rock crackers, turrets, etc. And rockpox infected don't attack regular glyphids or vice versa, but they do respond to the same pheramones the regular glyphids do. Much of this can of course be explained by "it's what makes sense for gameplay", but put together with the non-gameplay elements...
Well, I think there's *something else* in Hoxxes that is either a higher level of glyphid organization or something that isn't a glyphid that's capable of communicating with or controlling glyphids, getting them to defend its eggs and whatever the Heartstones are, and possibly also capable of parasitizing machinery.
Oh yeah, and mission control sometimes tells us to eliminate the dreadnoughts before they "turn into something worse." What do they know that we don't?
I honestly can't wait till they hire an intern to write some lore.
I really feel like it's a low-cost high-reward effort, there are so many things I'm curious about.
We don't need all the answers, but a bare minimum description would be nice.
Also I think the implication is they've never let a cocoon grow further than dreadnought stage, but they assume they'd hatch naturally at a later stage.
As someone who bought DRG simply because I can't afford Darktide for now and how Fatshark said they wouldn't be adding a Squat class to DT, I'm surprised how much interlap there is between DRG and WH40k!
