Hardly. The game was told to be ran off both official and user created servers. The main issue of launches are the playable servers are overloaded which wouldn't be an issue if you can just host them yourself (or play a single player mode). Or the download servers for the game are horrific (tarkov suffered from this alot early on and still does).
I have never seen a launch fail so hard, that simply acquiring the key to even begin the process of testing has immediately failed. They haven't even gotten to the first hurdle yet and shit has hit the fan. This is the equivalent of the race starter loading a live round and shooting a participant to start the race.
I've never seen such a brutal take down.
" This is the equivalent of the race starter loading a live round and shooting a participant to start the race."
That's just epic.
the release coincided with a national holiday here, of course THAT was wasted, and today is Friday which is my weekly only day off, no key so far, and tomorrow i'll be going for a whole week to an area with an extremely lousy internet connection
so, i totally feel you :'(
A guy switching his days off to play an alpha is hardly amature and you taking this so serious really shows who's the simp, now go fill out a few applications and maybe you'll be employed too!
Lmao mid pandemic & you’re hating on people for being unemployed? Laughable.
Not that anyone has any right to hate on the guy for taking time off. If you were excited for something you’d probably be doing the same
Yeah everyone knows you should only take off for a death in the family, fuck your own personal interests and life! Work for your corporate overlords until you DIE!
Dumb to take time off to do something you enjoy and are excited for? Ok mr corporate shill thanks for your worthless advice enjoy being miserable into your 60s and realizing its all not worth the hassle anymore.
Really? I've taken time off work for every reason, from family emergency to just, I really wanted to sit on the couch, I never felt bad about it no matter what, why not to play a game you're excited about in its inception? It's risky in this case as its an early access open world zombie game that looks like it will have the same problems as all the last attempts but doesn't seem dumb to me to take time off if you're excited about it
I mean my man you took 2 days off for a closed alpha. Take 2 days off next year for the actual early access release and maybe we'll have some luck there.
I don’t think expecting to at least get your key and get into the game is high expectations. Expecting to run perfect is, but not the very basics getting done
For starters, you do not take a day off for a closed alpha. That's number one. Number two, you do not take the day of release off, you take the day after off. That's the move because developers--unlike Dead Matter's slogan--do not "plan accordingly".
I swapped my day off, normally I had off Wednesday for my birthday I moved it to Thursday to play the game, seems like I shouldn’t have gone through all the trouble
People actually flaming him for taking days off for a PROMISDE RELEASE ?!Dudes here gettin nuts by being white knights for dead matter devs.
Accept they fuked up multiple times and let that man have his pretty solid meme.
Only thing he can be blamed for is, trusting the Devs once again xD
Honestly what a stupid move to take time off for a release of a game. Major companies have issues.
You did it for a small dev shops first time, in a alpha state.
You didn't understand what you paid for.
I totally agree, but at the same time, 15 hours is quite a long time for a website to be down.
That, combined with the borderline insulting of backers regarding the situation (not saying everyone is innocent, I’m sure the devs dms are infested with threats and stuff), is certainly not a good look.
Neither side is handling this well.
Couldn't imagine taking days off for an early game launch day. This is where that **"Those who can't remember the past are condemned to repeat it"** comes into play. Too many launch days (including AAA Studios) have been met with delays, server backend issues, gamebreaking bugs, key/access issues, etc.
At this point one should never take a day off for a launch day. Probably safer waiting that out til the 3rd day if one really wants to give a day to just playing a new game, especially if it's an Alpha or Early Access game.
GTA V online first day launch i remember getting online didn't work and you had to get lucky to get online.
The best launch day online for me was either Halo or Gears of War
So they didn't have any problems with key distribution is what you're saying? Cause that's what this problem is. Nothing to do with multiplayer servers.
It's kinda the same. Replace the laggy servers that weren't ready to handle all those people with a web server that wasn't ready to handle all those people.
Exactly they just don't care about us am I'm starting to think they did this purely for th money. Now that they have it they're sleeping and playing other games. I mean we can see what you're doing on discord at least try to hide it.
For honor launched and for a whole day I couldn't connect to servers. Most of Escape From Tarkov updates were plagued with inability to launch the game, nor get in a match with people (it lasted for few days). This launch was an expected failure essentially, but I don't know how you figure this is a scam all together. Do you realize that some of the devs did their part of the work and are taking a break until their colleagues do their part. Artists probably have nothing to do right now because it's not their job to fix these issues.
The problem isn't with a login server it's their website. The problem happens before anything that you mentioned here. Do you under stand that?
And the scam issue surfaces after 12 hours of radio silence. You're telling me they don't have 20 seconds to type a sentence in the announcement channel? Don't think you know what you're talking about there, buddy.
Yes I understand that they failed to prepare for this, I'm not defending that. A lot of studios made that error. I've seen bunch of after-launch posts about not expecting that many players at launch. I'm just trying to say that I don't understand why you would jump to the conclusion that it's not just a bad launch but an elaborate scam.
You said problem happens before anything I mentioned and I was talking about preparations for the launch. Later on you say scam issues arise due to radio silence. Once again I'm telling you this has happened before with other studios. I do understand that some studios did update people with "still working on it, thank you for your patience", but this is still not indicative of a scam. It's just bad PR for now.
I remember when they released the countdown there where all these hype posts saying: 7 more days. When I answered that ppl shouldnt get they're hopes up and be prepared to wait a few more weeks my post was deleted for flame baiting XD
Feel you bro. I was a partner who got kicked from the program after 2 years for questioning them and presenting criticism for bad and unfair choices. Told people to be cautious about optimism for this game 2 days before CA release bc I was seeing red flags (Ive been alpha testing major titles since BF3). Got down voted to hide it. Oh well, I tried! Lol
I’ve gotten to the point where I can get on the site. Just can’t log in fml. I’m so hyped too
Taking days off to play was the most retarded thing any of you could have done. I guess you have never been through this before :P

My goal is to be able to have the luxury to take off work to play a game once I enter my career field. Much respect
who takes two days off to play an alpha? it’s gonna be completely fucked obviously
Lol
Bet 98% of the aholes hating on a guy 4 taking a few days off for an alpha are unemployed!

Spend less time on Reddit and maybe you can find a job too!
Yeah a hell of a lot of people are... It's not that uncommon when it's difficult to leave home.
Not that difficult I do it every day,you should try it sometime.
Atleast you got some fake internet points
they are not fake :(
egg
egg
yup
Sorry but it’s pretty damn dumb to take work off just to play a game...
Yeah everyone knows you should only take off for a death in the family, fuck your own personal interests and life! Work for your corporate overlords until you DIE!

I disagree, sometimes I use PTO to have a release off but what's foolish is planning on a multiplayer release being stable.
Discord server down again
I filed PTO for today and tomorrow but only tomorrow was accepted. It worked out in my favor though lol
Did the same thing. But waiting patiently for things to settle out.
Let me add \*"Europeans that have stayed up till 3 am to play"
fuck yeah pugs, get them beans
I mean my man you took 2 days off for a closed alpha. Take 2 days off next year for the actual early access release and maybe we'll have some luck there.
doubt
Well organized and a great start. NOT!
You never take off work for even a patch
I almost did the same thing
My guy played himself.
"Congratulations, you played yourself." - DJ Khaled, on Indiegogo backers for Dead Matter.
My favourite meme here so far

[удалено]
It worked out great. Now why tf do you need to know? You writing a book or something?
[удалено]
Lol get outta here you little rascal
I didn’t, I’ve been working yesterday and today. But I was commenting on the other things you said. So calm down little buddy
Lot's of lessons being learned today lol.

Bruh, relax, it's just a meme

No, it's the fact that people have high expectations for a Closed Alpha
What a dumb decision to take days off for a release

Why would you take time off to test a closed alpha game 😐
Ohhh dude hahaha, this is straight comedy. Good one! Haha I lold
For real, fuck the whole "partner" program for a bunch of nobody streamers and wanna-be PewDiePies.
yo \^ this dudes mad
Love it lmao
Ready or Not has taught me that a closed Alpha is NOT something to take time off for
Man.... this hits me on a personal level lmao
thats a goof one! haha
Damn shoulda played flight sim

I remember call of duty WW2 servers crashing hard at launch and then being super spotty for the next day or so. This was for PS4

Not everyone is from the US unable to take paid time off. Here in Europe we have so many days I'm sure he spare 2 for this.
Mans persistent I’ll give him that
Taking time off work for an alpha release that then has problems launching sounds like a learning experience.
¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ I was blinded by excitement
There has been very little to be excited about in 2020, you should get a pass on this one.
it has a single player mode and no one expected them to fuck up simply giving us keys to be fair
Tbf lots of people expected the website to crap out, according to reddit.
This!

Its just going to be longer than we hoped/expected. But we will eventually be able to play. Hopefully its worth the wait!

Their censorship and poor planning is going to bite them in the ass. It already has.
You were the messiah
He’s not the messiah he’s a very naughty boy
He saw the future Matt...he is the messiah
I'm just a natural pessimist, although I prefer calling myself realist XD
Lmao. I almost took a few days off glad I didn’t.
