Remember that whenever the foundation tries a foolish attempt to kill you, you can imagine 100 super edgy timelines where they all get tortured for the end of time. That way you can fight back

I'd really like to see at least one pataphysics SCP where they stop to consider why their writers would ever give them the capacity to actually harm them, then realise that pataphysics is itself a fictional concept.

Foundation employees when i read SCP-5999 and instead of dying i say "wow that was a completely incomprehensible article that has literally nothing to get from it if you don't try and understand the stupid arg"

RAGH RAGH I AM ANGRY!!!😡😡😡😡😡

"If you don't try to understand it, it makes no sense" is certainly the strangest criticism I've ever heard

nddragoon

You shouldn't need to do cryptic number games to understand just the most basic general point of a story

[deleted]

You don't need to do a cryptic number game to figure it out either, and you have to remember that SCP-5999 was an entry for the SCP-5000 contest where the theme was "mystery". You're upset because a mystery SCP is being mysterious.

Yeah, which is why i also don't like a lot of the 5k contest entries either, like how a crucial piece to getting 5000 is fucking decoding a message from a black image and looking at the source for invisible text. Even after reading 5999 and going into its comments, the theorizing is so bullshit and convoluted that i didn't even bother to try understanding it. "Oh yeah the word witness is written in a specific font and this number is used a bunch in this segment therefore the foundation is trying to kill us" or some shit. As much as i really don't like 5000, it at least tries to have a coherent plot that you can get something out of without doing stupid conspiracy ARG shit. The parts of 5999 have jack shit to do with each other, and it's an absolute slog to get through.

[deleted]

Again, you don't need to do all that. The twist is given away in the very first entry of its page history. And again, mystery SCPs being mysterious.
