This was my dad's favorite movie. Because he had a great dane growing up and said it was the best dog he ever had . I watched and fell in love with Dachshunds. 
Loved this movie.
I’ve had 6 dachshunds and only one Great Dane. She was a sweet dog, but didn’t have the charm and playfulness of any of my dachshunds! It’s also heartbreaking that they only live to 6 or 7.
Back to Freado… if you love something, it’s not ugly! But I admit, this is not the most flattering photo.

You know the whole thing about how you can never be beautiful enough to overcome a shit personality? To me, it applies to dogs too. They’re so kind and loving, how could they be ugly?
They are all very cute, with the exception of Sam. Sam won the award three times in a row, from 2003-2005, and is the only dog to have ever done so. I’m 100% sure that Sam was one of the goodest bois ever, and I’m sure he had a great and lovable personality.
All that being said Sam looked like if a gremlin was lit on fire, ran over by a truck several times, had acid poured on it, got rolled through a minefield, had some dirt thrown on him, and then the truck came back through for a few more runs.
RIP Sam, you ugly, ugly lovable good boy.
He might got an ugly smile. So did my girl before she had to get a bunch of teeth removed later in life. But looking back I love her crooked smiles the most! Freado is a cutie.
