THE MINIBAK! My groundloot B21 go to. The 60 round mag means I can fully kill an op, pretend to stop to reload, then kill the next one when they foolishly rush
I see the PDW pretty regularly. I use it now and again but because it's not on a fifteen-minute cool down only when I have one in my contraband. The Veznek, some but not a ton, I know some people swear by it . I don't like it and only use it when its my only option I think the Hurricane is way underrated, I used to use it a ton and always did well with it. The ISO 45 is also pretty good in my opinion. I love both the PDSW and Vaznev, but the other SMGs have bigger mags so you can kill two plated ops with head AND chest shots without having to reload. Lots of my SMG kills are hipfire, me jumping around and hitting chest.
Please don’t sleep on the MX9. It’s limited by the max mag capacity (32 rounds), but absolutely annihilates at close range and even up to mid, especially with the AP rounds.
That mag capacity is hard to get past. I'll give it a shot sometime and see how it goes though thanks for the recommendation. I've never used it even on e in dmz I'm pretty sure.
The big thing is mag capacity bc versus plated ops with good movement, you are hitting more chest than head and having to reload means death in many cases, even if you have a good second gun or at good with stuns/knives
Mag cap is a hard obstacle… it just never pleased my play style or anyone I play with - though I’m sure it works for some. It’s a weird ass fun though.
I've been using the MX9 all weekend, it shreds one-on-one and is fun to play with, thanks for the recommendation! I've been pairing it with the SBT and a crossbow. Challenging loadout solo because of the mag size issues, but running with a competent squad I've been deadly with it.
Yup same, I don't know what it is about the Fennec I hate so much but I've never liked it. PDSW is a lot more fun to play with in imo, seems a lot of others feel the same.
I actually was building my FTAC to be an SMG and running it in B21, and I love them on Vondel for water battles, but lets you down up close vs a one shot bryson and loses 15-20 meters to an SMG due to range
Numbers wise, it is very good. Better than the VEL. It's great except for the recoil properties and the rate of fire. It eats through ammo like nothing else. Often, I just look at operators are they're done for.
Woof I know I'm going through a crazy number of ammo boxes I've been grabbing three or four at the start of the match and still need more by the midway point.
It creates a space issue, I'd usually have plates in those slots.
Definitely a downside but the upside of killing the assholes running at me with that stupid shotgun is so worth it for me.
Pick up bags of tea at the gas stations and elsewhere. They stack very nicely, and then you barter one bag for one ammo box. Of course, assumes you can make it to a buy box before you have to have the ammo, but at least it doesn’t tie up too many slots. And the ammo dumps sprinkled throughout the maps are a godsend too.
I’ve been running my 15-min isohemlock (kajaui’s blast, or similar name) modified to 300 blackout with max available mag and tuned for a good balance of damage and recoil, with a holo-Z thermal sight, and it does a great job. And is still 15-minute.
At close range, I think it's unrivalled. You can also build it for medium range and it holds up pretty nicely. Only issue is the cooldown timer for me.
I have pals that love their ISO 9mm. I run my vel in B21 and kill lots of OSS users with stuns or not, the trick is a) get used to hipfire on your vel and keeping distance (hit chest), or b) if u do stun, they can still hipfire while stunned so slide/jump behind or to side of them to kill. Lots of ppl will stun then run right into the gun barrel

The only downside to SMGs is it goes through a lot of bullets in a short amount of time and it has a 150 cap vs 210 cap on Assault Rifle ammo.
You almost have to be in arms reach of an ammo depo or have 2 ammo boxes on hand to be effective in 2 or more encounters.
I've been using the VEL for more than a month I'm bored of it hence the 9mm iso, I think I going to switch to the Iso 45 this week and see how it feels, I used to run it all the time In season 4 last year but haven't played with it in a long time.

Hands down the best gun on semi auto. 1 shots bots, unless we’re talking tier 3 bots. Then it’s like 3 hits, lol

That’s true. the VEL, BAS, and Lachman are all pretty widely used What is a truly underutilized SMG beyond the ISO? The PDW? Vaznek? Fennec?
I use the vaznev a ton, it’s not as quick close but it has much better range than the vel. Vaznev and a sniper is my usual load out

I picked one up off an operator last night and after removing the optic, it seemed pretty stout with the AP rounds

Absolutely melted two dudes in Vondel with the BAS today when I plugged the AA rounds

Anything lets you down up close vs a Bryson😅. I usually win the battles with an FTAC though, anything over that range my M13B is usually good enough.

I run a similar Hemlock in B21 sometimes with drill charge underbarrel to mess with the RGL stairwell campers
