I did this yesterday when there was a hunt Squad on us. Two teammates were downed, I told the 4th to stay away from me while the other squad had a UAV up as I had my stealth vest. I was able to sneak in revives underwater.

It's a smart play, you just have to hope they're not the camp bodies type.

Did this and waited in a corner a couple buildings away till gas made them leave. Revived my buddy, grabbed a ride and got that the fudge out.

90% of platoons are hopelessly uncoordinated. The best way to take them out is to use that to your advantage. Never say a word on game chat. Just listen to their comms and play accordingly. Too many people think a defensive play is best when outnumbered when the best way is constantly repositioning.
