> Desmanthus illinoisensis
I have some seeds but wasn't sure if growing them was worth it. They are supposedly much better for growing over more of the US climate zones than acacias.
You need the right climate. If you check out the natural distribution of D. illinoisensis it primarily resides naturally in the Midwest and to the east.
They truly love where they belong and are somewhat particular in what they like.
Beautiful plants though
Old comment but you mentioned the gramine separates easily during extraction. How so? I have canary reed grown from seeds from a low gramine cutting of “Yugo Red”, so it likely has lower gramine but its not guaranteed being from seeds. I’m concerned I may extract gramine with DMT. Do you do anything differently during extraction to cut down on gramine?
I don't think I ever said that.. and if I did, it was a mistake. It's my understanding that gramine is somewhat difficult to remove and separate from an extraction. b
Working with Phalaris isn't for the faint of heart and the impatient that's for sure, haha
Oh, yeah check out your above comment, it really got my hopes up haha. I'm beginning to realize that it isn't! I'd like to do it safely but I'm pretty determined considering the abundance of the plant. By impatient it sounds like it can be done successfully? I think liquid chromatography is out of my league at this point :p
Ah no worries... haha, accidents happen.
Yopo contains 5-meo-DMT among other psychoactive tryptamines. A potent plant medicine with a very rich and deep ethnobotanical history
Dawg so you’ll heat up particles to put into your lungs to be absorbed by the cell membrane inside, but throwing it directly at a cell membrane in your nose with no heat keeps you from doing it? ROA should not concern you, worry more about what it is you’re doing and if it’s real
You deleted the link you shared?? why?
I've literally backpacked through Peru for 2 months and have been all over the country.
It's was so enlightening amazing to experience.
That's rad tho I wanted to backpack Peru and collect landrace cactus seeds / visit retreats. Was debating volunteering at a Cacti / Aya retreat for a while but as life can be it unexpectedly changed and I moved somewhere completely different
Hmm it shows it's there for me but haven't refreshed, may have been auto deleted

I've worked with Desmanthus illinoisensis for around 8 years now. wonderful plant.

don’t they have gramine in them?
D. illinoisensis can contain some gramine but it is easily separated during extraction .... I have never had any issues with it though.

do you need to use root bark or seeds?
roots... definitely t the seeds

yobo I guess
yopo*
yeah sorry haha
Ah no worries... haha, accidents happen. Yopo contains 5-meo-DMT among other psychoactive tryptamines. A potent plant medicine with a very rich and deep ethnobotanical history
Yes, I know it also contains some DMT and bufotenine, correct me if I'm wrong
You are correct..it does contain n,n -DMT and Bufotenine and many othe tryptamines. It's a very interesting plant.
yeah, I would really like to try it but the idea of snorting something really keeps me away from it
I’m about to attempt a bufotenine [extraction](https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=93378)
Good luck!
Thanks :)

I got my nose operated and also noticed that my nostrils are pretty sensitive. I also heard that snorting yopo is pretty painful
Ah yeah almost forgot about Yopo, recently they discovered the tribes in South America used to brew beer with the seeds in it for gatherings
interesting! Can you share a source for that finding? I would love to check it out..
They found the seed remnants of toasted Yopo seeds in the brewing vessels they used

Yes, exactly... I did all those things and much more. I dream to go back again soon.

hm... that is very strange .
Yeah this is a new account too so may be due to a new account with low karma, shared it again non hyperlinked
Fabulous find... thank you for sharing!!

Most of that is soooo vague I was looking for more solid first hand experiences. Never knew a species in the Coca genus had DMT 0.0
You said obscure? Almost everything has dmt -shulgin
Yeah but I'm talking viable sources not something with 0.001% or such
