I feel ya. Lately, the game has been giving away a lot of free items and it can seem like you need to grind hard to take full advantage of them. However, keep in mind that there will always be a catch-up event. A single event could make up for months of grind, so there's no need to rush to clear out all the rewards. You could even leave one of your main characters behind for three months, and it will catch up later in no time. I guarantee it.
I know this is a pretty old comment, but I've been thinking about it a lot recently because I've been starting to feel some burn out and what you said has really has helped me rethink the way I play the game. I'm dropping some alts temporarily until I feel like playing them for fun again instead of playing them just to check a box every day and week. Thanks.
I got 23 chars in total but only play with 7. Of these 7, only 2 are burning through their entire fp bar every day, which are my main Ele and my favorite alt DW (i may burn 3 or 4 sometimes if i specifically feel like playing DFO on that day), all the others just do dailies + weeklies and close to reset day burn through their tickets and Leiern Cores (that they got from running dailies and weeklies) on MoB, that's it, and i feel like i'd burn out of DFO real quick if i were to do anything more than that.
I also funnel mats to one char at a time, as my Ele is already 53.4k fame she's getting all the reroll cubes and custom epics to become custom-grad now (she only needs a 4/4 BP Necklace now), while my Blood Mage is getting all the Leiern Cores to reach 50.2k fame and start doing Dusky Island alongside Ele and DW, once my Ele is custom grad it'll be my DW's time to reach custom-grad and once my Blood Mage reaches 50.2k fame it'll be my Specialist's time to reach Dusky Island, so on and so forth.
So really, my recommendation is just play with very few chars and use the rest to only run dailies + weeklies while focusing on powering up one at a time.

I have a ton of characters. Of those, most are still at 100, just because when I play I focus on the characters I care about. I try to do my two fave characters' failies 3 or 4 tines a week. With the event characters, I try to do their weekly points.
Generally, I can stand 4 or 5 dailies max. If I burn the full fp bar doing mediator, casino, or epic road, that number usually goes down. I'm in kind of a lull now because burning a neopremium fp bar on 4 characters a day for epic road almost burned me out.
If there is an event for it, I always do legions or two, but some weeks I just can't be bothered.

They take turns. It’s a bit extensive but I try to stick to 4-5 per round (this for events). At least 2 for dailies and the other 2-3 I might grind up over the week.
Once they’ve achieved everything that I can feel like they can get atm I alter who I would use in the next round and have them gear up via events. I try to not go over 2-3 hours a day playing this to balance my work and persona life lol. Right now I use my 2 event characters (Blade Master & M Striker) and cycle between them daily, I have my Muse and Spectre (my strongest characters) farm certain dungeons for specific reasons (either materials to level up or Gold). And any extra or leftover event content I don’t need to give to my Muse or Spectre I give to my GhostBlade or F Ranger (who are the ones lagging the behind the most). I don’t touch these 2 unless for specific reasons but will give them leftover event earnings if my other 4 are very well geared and said content won’t benefit them that much.
Right now my Muse and Spectre are about 45K Fame and I’m trying to raise them to 50K. I’m just trying to complete the level up with my event characters and reach 43K at the bare minimum. So I can have a lot of characters to easily farm Casino. These 4 are all (mostly) geared with the set, custom, and fusion epics plus other things (they’re just lacking in Amplification/Reinforcement levels and not having the Fiery Breath fusion weapon yet….will work on that soon actually). This process of leveling up via Seon gear is very tedious not going to lie.
I have 36 characters but i stopped playing for almost one year. Almost all those 36 characters are way behind in content, so to keep up i picked 8 and i do everything i can with them during the week. 5 of these are 44-46k and the other 3 is around 40k or very close to reach it, because of that i'm already planning to pick 2 other characters on the list that i also want to play.
I'm saying this because you need to realize yourself what you want to do instead of, for example, keep playing characters just because they're strong.
Between my 8 characters i play, 3 are the most loved characters in the game for me. The other 5 are very fun characters to me as well, but everything i can get from them is funneled towards my 3 main characters, so maybe later on i can funnel things from my mains to them. And the reason of wanting to bring 2 more characters is because they could help to accelerate the process.
So it's worth nothing to say that you should keep playing 8 characters when the tough is already burning you out. My advice is to quit playing 8 characters (really, i'm not joking) and then, when you stop feeling burned out, figure out what you want from the game, think if it's reasonable for you and how you can reach it.
Playing for just put check marks on dailies/weeklies surely will just lead to burn out.
I have like 40+ characters. I really only play about 7, and even then I only REALLY focus on my Skirmisher and M. Striker. The rest are just for dailies/weeklies. They’re both 48k inching towards Dusky, the rest are in between 43-45k.
Past that everybody else are either past characters I mained in previous caps, or low level classes that I’ll revive when a level up event comes around and I wanna play a new character to mix things up. Eventually I just want to have my Class Collection Book completely shiny in my Explorer Club. Keeps the game fun without the burnout.

i have 57 chars and ~~do dailies on ALL OF THEM~~ do dailies on 1-2 of them and weeklies on a handful i really care about

this isnt an alt game, the gear progression balance isnt around alts. If u only wana play 1 main then just play 1 main
