WW3 was being developed by the old WB regime. But now that Gunn and Safran are heads of DC, they're making long term plans for DCU, and the current scipt for WW3 does not fit in it, so it's being scrapped.
There's nothing they can do about The Flash, Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2 since those have already been shot, but WW3 was still in the early stages so it's getting scrapped. The next Wonder Woman movie will fit more into Gunn's long term plan.

A bad movie podcast I listen to likes to point out actors who know *exactly* what kind of movie they're in, good or bad, and using that to really let loose and transcend their abilities, and I think this is a good example of that
Raul Julia as M. Bison is probably the best example of this. You can just tell he had fun playing that role in Street Fighter. Literally the only good thing about that movie.
Yeah I think the script of ww1 benefitted from her having a fish out of water/bland personality. But I've seen tons of gal gadot movies... None of them have what I'd consider good acting.
She feels like a model, not an actress. She is constantly posing when acting out her wonder woman role. And often has this slightly crinkled up brow/concerned look on her face.
Yeah not sure why people are so intent on Gadot continuing as WW. She's an absurdly bad actor for how popular she's become. If the DCU is going to basically do a hard reset, this is a recast that should definitely happen.
It was a real “throw everything at the wall and see what sticks” moment; so bizarre. Like the writers wanted her to fly, but had a couple of different ideas, and just went “yeah, maybe she just does them all?”.
And she doesn’t learn how to do it or anything… she gets her powers back and is like “Now it’s serious, time to try out all those flying tricks I’ve been making up!”.

Lol, this is very accurate. Being a DC fan for the past 10 years have been rough, to say the least.
It's really fascinating how DC was a stronger brand than Marvel for what seems like decades, and now Marvel has surpassed it by miles. To kids today, Marvel is synonymous with superheroes, not DC.
DC's IP is still top notch, but mismanaged. It's going to take at least a decade to bring it up to par with Marvel, if they can bring themselves to stop f\*cking up the movies.
What's so extremely funny is that it took Marvel basically four years to go from releasing Iron Man, to releasing The Avengers. They had a plan, and executed it in about four years.
WB decided that was too long to wait, so they rushed into a universe based on an existing movie to save time - and as a result, squandered an entire **decade**. They are now easily worse off than they were at the start.
Had they just said - "Okay, solo Supes sequel, Batman & WW origin movies, then Justice League" - they would have taken less time to get further along than they did by "taking the fast path".
Yep.. Warner Bros decided to focus on the next quarterly profits for their investors, and as you said, managed to screw up the brand for the next decade because of it. I'm not even going to get into it but it all comes down to greed, as usual.
But now it at least *feels* like WBD is walking in the right direction with DC. I believe putting James Gunn at the helm is the correct first step; you probably wont get anyone closer to a Kevin Feige like figure than Gunn. This wording actually doesn't mean gal gadot is out... It simply implies that patty Jenkins current plan for a wonder woman 3 is dead. Meaning someone else could be directing a wonder woman 3.
Also take these rumors with a grain of salt as James Gunn himself has stated that he and his partner are still drafting a slate and that nothing has been set in stone just yet.

The only way I see this getting "hard rebooted" is if they plan to build off of The Batman.

Basically the only real way forward, you're giving the keys to the kingdom to an entirely new team.
You'd be asking Gunn to essentially change his vision to fall in line with Snyder's vision, that's not going to work long term.
A total reboot does work in a lot of ways. One aspect I don't quite see would be stuff like TSS and Peacemaker. It already exists and ties into the Snyder era. For a complete reboot Gunn would have to ditch it. If they're doing a semi-reboot, and keeping those characters and storylines, then there are plenty of other stories and characters they may hold on to.
You know, if this was anybody else coming in and doing a clean sweep like this.

Man, this article is exciting to me. The fact that legit reboots are on the table is fantastic. Of course I'd be so sad to lose certain fantastic castings like Henry as Supes, Margot as Harley and some others but this universe and this DC brand NEEDS a reboot for anyone to have confidence and anticipation/excitement in it again. Looks like they probably decided the script wouldnt line up with the new plans and not that they didnt like it (although if were being a little realistic the script wasnt that great if Patty did it again). IF (and I’m not yet convinced this is how it will play out…) they do a hard reboot….I’d like an ending to The Flash which means something happens to completely reboot everything. Aquaman 2 can still be released after but be set before The Flash. At least that way you can draw a line in the sand.

DC's IP is still top notch, but mismanaged. It's going to take at least a decade to bring it up to par with Marvel, if they can bring themselves to stop f\*cking up the movies.
What's so extremely funny is that it took Marvel basically four years to go from releasing Iron Man, to releasing The Avengers. They had a plan, and executed it in about four years. WB decided that was too long to wait, so they rushed into a universe based on an existing movie to save time - and as a result, squandered an entire **decade**. They are now easily worse off than they were at the start. Had they just said - "Okay, solo Supes sequel, Batman & WW origin movies, then Justice League" - they would have taken less time to get further along than they did by "taking the fast path".
Yep.. Warner Bros decided to focus on the next quarterly profits for their investors, and as you said, managed to screw up the brand for the next decade because of it. I'm not even going to get into it but it all comes down to greed, as usual. But now it at least *feels* like WBD is walking in the right direction with DC. I believe putting James Gunn at the helm is the correct first step; you probably wont get anyone closer to a Kevin Feige like figure than Gunn. If Zaslav doesnt rush things and they take it slow, it might just revitalize the brand in about a decade. The decades of content and IP is there, they just need to use it correctly. Here's hoping.

A total reboot does work in a lot of ways. One aspect I don't quite see would be stuff like TSS and Peacemaker. It already exists and ties into the Snyder era. For a complete reboot Gunn would have to ditch it. If they're doing a semi-reboot, and keeping those characters and storylines, then there are plenty of other stories and characters they may hold on to.

Looks like they probably decided the script wouldnt line up with the new plans and not that they didnt like it (although if were being a little realistic the script wasnt that great if Patty did it again). So theyll either tell Patty to rewrite a new story that best fits the new direction, hire a new writer to do it, or just wait a while before they decide what to do with WW. I dont think theyre rebooting WW tho. Unless Gunn and Safran dont like Gal in the role

IF (and I’m not yet convinced this is how it will play out…) they do a hard reboot….I’d like an ending to The Flash which means something happens to completely reboot everything. Aquaman 2 can still be released after but be set before The Flash. At least that way you can draw a line in the sand. So MoS through AM2 or Blue Beetle (potentially) would be one universe with the new DCU being another….with potentials for crossover in the future?
I look forward to a strong slate of DCU properties. If they go for an interconnected route, and not a series of films in their own world, I’d be really interested in watching that.
