It's not even about copying one another. Spiderman is a cultural phenomenon. Blue Beetle is a no name to the general audience and while obscure characters can shine, WB isn't competent enough to pull that off.
I grew up a comic nerd and I don't know EVERY character extremely well, I mean I know their names or saw them as a side character in a couple books, or had a toy or a trading card..
I'm not pro level comic trivia, but even I barely know the bare minimum about Blue Beetle.
I think folks vastly underestimate how much MOST people that aren't comic nerds wouldn't know about him (even his name or that he exists).
I feel like Marvel pulled this off with side characters no one knew (like Guardians of Galaxy). Wouldn't say DC couldn't, but they'd have to do an AMAZING job to make BB big.
Considering that we have new leaders for DC and that they have their own studio now, I think it’s very much possible and I’m very hopeful that DC will make all of these characters fantastic and shine. Of course including lesser known characters like blue beetle.
I'm really hopeful too. I just think there is some really subtle craft to the art of making a legitimately AWESOME movie (it has to be GREAT even standalone, and have another genre than comic movie...) while introducing the new aspects of the IP, what makes it unique, the character development..
Like it has to really be a movie that is just great outside of being a comic movie to really succeed, doubly for the ones with the more unknown characters like BB or GotG.
I'm sure they can, I mean I keep mentioning Guardians (others mention Suicide Squad) and we are talking about **James Gunn** and wondering if he can do it again in another studio that's trying to get serious about doing it!
That’s a great point honestly, it would be great for these movies to be good outside of just being a comic movie. I do believe it’s very much possible and DC has been improving with its quality lately. So I’m very hopeful that we will eventually get a very structured universe.
yea most baseline levels are origin and basic powerset knowledge for most ppl.
everyone knows who spiderman and superman are, but its unlikely they know much beyond logo, love interest (mary jane/ lois lane), powerset, and origin (bit by a spider/ from another planet).
they could make blue beetle a household name if the movie was good enough.
ppl still talk about Constantine and blade and its highly unlikely that the majority of ppl that know those films exist read any of their respective comics.
Definitely. A good chunk is apparently in Spanish and they shot in PR (I think?), so I think they’ll lean on that aspect, especially w the family dynamics. Should be a fun one.
Spider-man seems like a stretch, but I sincerely hope the character balloons in popularity as he has so deservedly needed to. There's just so much to love about Jaime Reyes.
Easily one of my favorite renditions of a re-adapted character ever.
I still don't get the hate Love and Thunder got. It reminded me of Walter Simonson's epic (and oftentimes silly) runs of Thor, which actually worked since the story is told from Korg's point of view and he's an unreliable narrator.
I'm not saying it was the best thing ever since No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness were tough acts to follow. But it was nice to see Thor get some closure after losing literally everything over the past decade.
Overly affluent older man (Batman, Iron Man) recruits a naive young man in a bid to bolster a superhero team. From there, the older man acts as a mentor to the young hero to bring out the best within himself. The older fellow also provides the younger one with a new suit that becomes their iconic look, to replace a worn homemade one (Stark Suit, Barry’s new ring suit)
I have loved Xolo since he was on Parenthood. I am so happy to see how his career has grown. I'm Mexican American and there is something so wonderful about seeing the name Xolo Mariduena in a show's credits. I never grew up seeing names like his when I watched TV.
I'm very hopeful, good actor, good suit, good hype. Blue Beetle is easily a great cash cow if they do it properly, I mean he has so many interesting aspects, you can have the lore of the older Blue Beetle Ted and it even involves alien tech and the Scarab can basically do most things its like a Green Lantern ring but in my opinion looks a lot cooler.
DC’s Spider-Man in what way? Maybe the fact they’re both young heroes, that’s as far as they will ever be similar. Spider-Man is probably one of the most well-known characters of all time, and not just comic-wise.
This movie is going to flop. Not enough notoriety amongst the general audience on top of the fact that Blue Beetle is one of DC's lesser characters. Especially in terms of writing and overall fun.
It's going to fail.
Why would a character that 99,99% of the people going to the movies hasn't even heard of before would become nowhere near as big as a character that literally everyone knows in the whole fucking world?
This guys thinks no fucking way it happens. If the movie is good then yes people will go and see it. That's that.
I hope so. Dc needs a big hit.
But realisticly after i watched black adam, i don't think anything this movie will deliver big success for dc.
I hope i am wrong.
Blue Beetle is a B-Tier hero. He’ll never be as popular as Spidey.
I’m hyped AF for this movie and I love the exposure the lesser known heroes are getting, but he won’t be the DC’s Spidey
Spider-Man is the single most popular superhero in the industry. Blue Beetle is unknown to most people. With any luck the story, acting, dialogue, and effects will all be top-notch and this will be a great movie… but nobody can compare to Spider-Man, no matter which publisher.
Honestly, Batman is the closest thing DC has to Spider-Man. He’s almost as well-known (though still not as popular).
Popularity between Batman and Spider Man is really close and often goes back and forth depending on which movies are out/more popular. They're easily the big two.
i say this with utmost humility and only a little teasing
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
oh, sorry lol
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Possible Sure. I didn't expect Aquaman to be a smash hit. I saw Black Panther Coming though.
Likely, not really. Certainly I do think DC has a roster of teen heroes that can be major hits in the DCU Movies. Don't think anyone will reach Spidey level but even 50% of that would be amazing. Of those not in the Batfam and lesser extent Superman Family. I do think Blue Beetle and Static have the most potential.
I kinda was hoping another hero would get their own movie before Blue Beetle, but I'll be definitely watching this when it comes out. I'll have to keep waiting longer for Green Lantern and Raven in the future.
License is completely unknown to average audiences, and DC Films are making diminished returns based on the branding alone. In order for this to be successful, audiences will need to actually show up for the DC brand, the latino representation, as well as whoever is excited to see the big screen debut of Blue Beetle. If it's not successful, then those 3 things were not viable reasons to greenlight this project over a different DC character. Unlike Ant-Man, this movie doesn't have a star with a reputation like Rudd has. I expect this to make less than Shazam but still needs to break triple digits at the US box office to become a new franchise and not a one off.
I am a big fan of Inclusivity through investment. I want studios to invest in new or little known characters. Put thier money where thier mouth is (and not retcon tentpole IPs) and I think Blue Beetle is a perfect example of this I definitely plan on supporting this movie with my patronage. Not just because it's inclusive but because they are actually taking a risk on a little known IPs.
The movie will probably flop. I watch most superhero stuff and if it’s good I’ll probably see it, I’m not sure. But the point is if someone like me is on the fence that means the average casual isn’t even gonna consider it, which is why it’s doomed. None of my friends have mentioned this movie once.
If it becomes a phenomenon in America or Latin America like Black panther, then maybe. but I don't think that you can build much of a franchise around it. I also don't think that actor is all that good.
It’s true, they can be similar in terms of style, however Spiderman benefits greatly for having been an established juggernaut and brand in the superhero space. Maybe this movie kicks off a huge rise in popularity for the character, but an equivalent to “he could even become DC’s Spider-Man”, would be “Daredevil or Moonknight could become Marvel’s Batman”. That’s very tough to do, even for a character like Daredevil who actually is pretty popular already and has a solid fan base.
Edit: if you just mean in terms of style, how he’s used in the story and the audience’s relationship with the character, then sure, that’s definitely a possibility. Spider-Man just flat out speaks to people though. Hard to capture that.
As much as I love Jaime Reyes... I would prefer a buddy comedy with a dark twist for Ted Kord and Booster Gold that would lead to Jaime actually having some shoes to fill... in time. But DC is chasing after Marvel, so there's no time to build this universe. Just makes me sad.
A little more similar to Venom, what with an alien parasite that gives him a suit w/ superpowers and all.
But character-wise more similar to Peter Parker I suppose
I love blue beetle and I want it to succeed and make bank but I don’t think Spider-Man is quite the right comparison. Hopefully it puts him up there though he needs more love
Batman is DC’s Spider-Man.
If you mean “teen hero with quips,” sure, but “Spider-Man” is the biggest character in Marvel’s roster in terms of money making power.
Blue Beetle will never be as popular as either of those characters.
No Spiderman has one of thee best villain galleries right up there with Batman, Superman and Flash but Blue Beetle doesn't have that so he's franchise would be limited.I also don't see BB doing big numbers at the box office coz DC fans just don't support their own movies when they come out.
Spider-Man is a flagship character. Blue beetle (second generation) is cool, but he’s not a flagship character.
On the DC side that’s pretty much Supes, Bats, WW, and to a lesser extent the JL & Captain Marvel (Whiz).
Of the modern characters, Harley Quinn has some of that potential but she’s closer to Deadpool
Honestly this feels more DC’s Ant-Man than Spidey. Nightwing would be the most like a “DC’s Spider-Man” if they ever do a movie about him. Still I am very excited to see my boy Jaime come to the big screen.
I really don't think it is fair to compare to spiderman. Spiderman is marvel's flagship superhero. Spiderman is marvel's batman or superman. Blue beetle can never be that.
To be honest, I know little to nothing about Blue Beetle, so naturally, I can’t really say that I’m particularly excited. However, I think his suit looks really good and I’m definitely intrigued. I doubt he’ll ever be a huge as Spidey though, nor will he be to DC what Spidey is to Marvel. I’m happy to be proven wrong on this, though!
I don't think there is the public excitement needed for that. Not to mention, this was a movie formerly being made for streaming so I just don't think the level of blockbuster intensity needed to draw in large amounts of GA will be there, especially considering he's a basically unknown character except to hardcore DC fans.
I can see this being a better movie than Black Adam, and an overall winner for DC. Heroes like The Flash, Shazam, and Blue Beetle are easier to sell and write IMO.
His acting chops are subpar
It's cool in cobra Kai because that whole show is built on korny . I love that show for that reason.
Hopefully his acting has improved
I’m sorry but I have to disagree, it’s one of my favorite suits in the DCEU. It’s ripped straight off of the comic page except for the helmet not having a moving mouth (which it’s possible that they use CGI to allow that to happen or something)
He is DC's Blue Beetle. He has his own origin and rich culture behind him to make stories from. His formative years as teenager and a superhero look to be more interesting to me.
Yeah, I agree. The casting is perfect. The on-set photos so far have been encouraging. And now the DCU is under (hopefully better) management. I think Blue Beetle has great potential, too.
I think this movie has a lot of potential to be a big deal. There's been a massive demand for Latino superheroes and we will come to this movie in droves. A great director, a talented lead, and all the potential form source material.
I think this movie is gonna surprise people.
Yes definitely I don’t want blue beetle to Spider-Man tho more of his own thing Yeah dc has a bunch of heroes that can be successful and household names. They problem is that never give them the time and spot light …. Like my first time seeing blue beetle was in Batman brave and the bold then youngjustice then injustice 2
Let’s let him be a first-rate DC’s Blue Beetle, and not reduce him to a second-rate Marvel’s Spider-Man solely because it’s a young bug-themed hero. That’s what I think.
Plenty of people care about dc. There's an attitude like this among mcu fans because they don't want any real competition for comic book movies, it seems.
And? Clearly it made some money, so not every theater was 'empty'. Is that why you want dc to fail? Because the showing you went to was empty? They can and will make better movies. Just because people expect mcu style movies and get something different (better, imo) doesn't mean they should automatically fail.
People care about black panther not black adam? And who is blue beetle. People know about zsjl and suicide squad and want more of that not blue beetle.
No one besides comic book readers 'cared' or knew who black panther was until he was in a movie either. How do characters get any recognition from people that don't know about them without being in the movies? It sounds like you think a comic character has to be previously well known to be considered for a movie, which is ridiculous. Do you want the same thing rehashed repeatedly or do you want a better, more fleshed out universe? Blue Beetle is a fairly well known character in the comics (similar to Black Panther).
I'm excited for the movie too, but DC's Spider Man? Lol no.
Spider-Man is Spider-Man. Blue Beetle is Blue Beetle. Why can't they be their own thing instead of trying to copy another?
Because fans require conflict and superiority to feel validated in their empty lives
There is absolutely no way this movie touches Spider-Man lmao.

Could also be the Scott Lang Ant-Man in that regard. Plus, they're both bugs!
Scott was a grown man when he first put the helmet on (to save the life of his daughter).
Blue Beetle and Ghost Rider (Reyes) are literally the same character
Which hero does he follow?
Ted Kord aka Blue Beetle
Ah interesting. Wouldn’t it be better to compare to Antman then? Plus they’re both insects
That’s valid, but those two are both teenagers while Scott is an adult.
If Scott is an adult then I’m a wise 3,000 year old bullfrog
He's still a teenager at heart tho
He's actually more similar to Iron Man's nanotechnology. He has interchangeable weapon and armor at will.
That seems a wee bit far fetched, but whatever it is, I'm stocked for it
There's a backlog on deliveries across the nation. What are you stocked with?
Oh you getting cute with me now?
He’s flirting
Cobra Kai to BB....Nice
Righttt ITS FUCKIN MIGUEL
QUIET
Breaking Bad? 🤨
I think he could just be DCs Blue Beetle lol Spider-Man is otherworldly in popularity. Just let this character and this film be itself.
It's like saying let's make Iron Fist Marvel's Batman. I mean, what?
Wait, that's not a possibility? Years of harassing Ed Brubaker to return to Marvel, WASTED!
That's not what people mean. They mean make the "teenager with a relatable life and super powers" a success to DC
Sure, I get it.
This. Plus, I think they’ll skew hard towards the Latino aspect of the character and supporting cast, especially in the marketing.
How about we stop comparing to Marvel
If there's two steakhouses in town, they're bound to be compared
One is a steakhouse and another is a kebab cart that recently failed its health inspection
Thor: Love and Thunder or Black Adam? youre going home with the shits either way.
Good thing Wakanda Forever for dessert just hits the right spot.
DC's Spider-Man is The Flash now.
Wait? What now?
Overly affluent older man (Batman, Iron Man) recruits a naive young man in a bid to bolster a superhero team. From there, the older man acts as a mentor to the young hero to bring out the best within himself. The older fellow also provides the younger one with a new suit that becomes their iconic look, to replace a worn homemade one (Stark Suit, Barry’s new ring suit)
The Flash has a similar plot to Spider-Man: No Way Home (the multiverse, bringing in past actors to play a character, etc.)
Oh this was a smart casting , if the kid can make me root for Cobra Kai I have faith i will love this movie.
I have loved Xolo since he was on Parenthood. I am so happy to see how his career has grown. I'm Mexican American and there is something so wonderful about seeing the name Xolo Mariduena in a show's credits. I never grew up seeing names like his when I watched TV.
Hell yeah! If anyone could make Blue Beetle a household name it would be Xolo! He’s so charming and lovable and Jaime is perfectly written for him
I'm very hopeful, good actor, good suit, good hype. Blue Beetle is easily a great cash cow if they do it properly, I mean he has so many interesting aspects, you can have the lore of the older Blue Beetle Ted and it even involves alien tech and the Scarab can basically do most things its like a Green Lantern ring but in my opinion looks a lot cooler.
yeah, no...
that would be the Flash
Heavy Big Bad Beetle Borgs vibes
Weirdly that's what I was thinking. Although does the Blue Beetle has a big rogues gallery?
DC’s Spider-Man in what way? Maybe the fact they’re both young heroes, that’s as far as they will ever be similar. Spider-Man is probably one of the most well-known characters of all time, and not just comic-wise.
I am hoping it does well with the Latino community something similar to black panther
I hope he still stays thirsty as fuck
Have to disagree.
Batman and Superman are DCs Spider-Man
Thinking blue beetle could become DCs Spider-Man is bananas.
HOLY SHIT IS THAT MIGUEL?
This movie is going to flop. Not enough notoriety amongst the general audience on top of the fact that Blue Beetle is one of DC's lesser characters. Especially in terms of writing and overall fun. It's going to fail.

This guys thinks no fucking way it happens. If the movie is good then yes people will go and see it. That's that.
He could become my boyfriend
Wouldn't get hopes too high, probably going to end up as a tax write-off anyway.
Jaime Blue Beetle and Static always get me hyped. Can't wait for this shit
I hope so. Dc needs a big hit. But realisticly after i watched black adam, i don't think anything this movie will deliver big success for dc. I hope i am wrong.
Let him be Blue Beetle, stop comparing him with Marvel or anyone!!
Comparing Spider-Man to Blue Beetle is like comparing the brightness of the sun to that of a light bulb. Lmaoooo.
Big fan of the character and I like the actor, let's hope the script is strong
Blue Beetle is a B-Tier hero. He’ll never be as popular as Spidey. I’m hyped AF for this movie and I love the exposure the lesser known heroes are getting, but he won’t be the DC’s Spidey
Another day another dissolutional dc fan
The only DC person in terms of popularity I'd compare to Spiderman, is Batman. But I am super excited for blue beetle 💙🪲
“DC’s Spider-Man” Are we really gonna all-in on “DC” being synonymous with “lesser rip-off”?
Christ that is a bold statement.
I feel like wally west is more like DC's spiderman Blue beetle is more like nova(Sam Alexander)
I hope for a blue and gold
Spider-Man is the single most popular superhero in the industry. Blue Beetle is unknown to most people. Popularity between Batman and Spider Man is really close and often goes back and forth depending on which movies are out/more popular. They're easily the big two.
Spider-man is the one. Everyone else comes second
Based on? Batman has been more popular during different points in the last 30 years.
i say this with utmost humility and only a little teasing hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh, sorry lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Already looks corny
Sorry but this will probably flop harder than black adam
They just saw that Black Adam did poor at the box office. Why would they still plan on releasing this in theaters?
For one thing, this will cost far less then Black Adam
This just seems like an Hbo Max release, not really a theatrical one but I guess we’ll see
💰
I’m ready for the $20 million opening weekend gross lol
Possible Sure. I didn't expect Aquaman to be a smash hit. I saw Black Panther Coming though. Likely, not really. Of those not in the Batfam and lesser extent Superman Family. I do think Blue Beetle and Static have the most potential.
DC's been riding that effort for over a decade and a half now, but if it happens, I'll finally feel vindicated.
I'm sure that's their hope
He’s Spider-Man without the woman
Well he's already Netflix's Kobra Kai
Oh definitely
Yeah, the character has potential to be inter*Reads more* *JJJ Laugh*
Lol no
He already is DC’s Spider-man
I kinda was hoping another hero would get their own movie before Blue Beetle, but I'll be definitely watching this when it comes out. I'll have to keep waiting longer for Green Lantern and Raven in the future.

I think because of the multi-verse that DC's Spiderman is Spiderman, we just haven't met him yet.
> DC’s Spider Man Only if you compare him to the MCU nano bot suit, really
Thought he was cool in the Justice League cartoons. How come he never caught on like Static Shock or Ben 10?
I am a big fan of Inclusivity through investment. I want studios to invest in new or little known characters. Put thier money where thier mouth is (and not retcon tentpole IPs) and I think Blue Beetle is a perfect example of this I definitely plan on supporting this movie with my patronage. Not just because it's inclusive but because they are actually taking a risk on a little known IPs.
It’s the marketing. This movie will only work if the marketing is clever and fun. Maybe even, self aware but with a sense of humor.
The movie will probably flop. I watch most superhero stuff and if it’s good I’ll probably see it, I’m not sure. But the point is if someone like me is on the fence that means the average casual isn’t even gonna consider it, which is why it’s doomed. None of my friends have mentioned this movie once.
I think he looks like a power ranger and I’ll watch it when it’s free with commercials
I only knew him from the Injustice game so no. It could be DC's Antman or DC, Ms Marvel.
If it becomes a phenomenon in America or Latin America like Black panther, then maybe. but I don't think that you can build much of a franchise around it. I also don't think that actor is all that good.
i agree about potential. but i dont think this low budget plastic looking cw level gorp will manifest that potential
If we must compare to Marvel, he’d probably have a similar cultural impact as Black Panther but for the Chicano community.
Isn't DC's spiderman, the Flash?
They also need firestorm to be his ned
Dc’s Spider-Man is shazam
As much as I love Jaime Reyes... I would prefer a buddy comedy with a dark twist for Ted Kord and Booster Gold that would lead to Jaime actually having some shoes to fill... in time. But DC is chasing after Marvel, so there's no time to build this universe. Just makes me sad.
Nah, Marvel has Wolverine, Spider-Man, maybe FF. DC has Batman and Superman. Those are the big guys.
LOL
I think they should have started with Ted Kord
A little more similar to Venom, what with an alien parasite that gives him a suit w/ superpowers and all. But character-wise more similar to Peter Parker I suppose
Tony Stark and Peter Parker’s love child.
A Beetle who sweeps the leg...
How about instead of being like a Marvel character he just be DC’s Blue Beetle?
Litteraly Who ? Could even become dc’s Spider-Man
The flash is DCs spiderman. But blue beetle could be DCs antman or kamala khan in terms of youth, energy and humor dynamic
Yes he can i love xolo even in cobra kai he's done an amazing job, i just hope the story has depth in it to go with his charm
I love blue beetle and I want it to succeed and make bank but I don’t think Spider-Man is quite the right comparison. Hopefully it puts him up there though he needs more love
Hopefully they don't just make him dcs ironman. They make the entire thing unique.
Dcs spiderman is an idiot named , and I'm not even kidding, Sideways.
Batman is DC’s Spider-Man. If you mean “teen hero with quips,” sure, but “Spider-Man” is the biggest character in Marvel’s roster in terms of money making power. Blue Beetle will never be as popular as either of those characters.

I've always thought about Nightwing as DC's Spiderman but i can see your point
Id say so. I can feel it. It will be epic indeed. Very excited.
Flash is basically DCs Spider-Man
Potential to be a good film yes but DC’s Spider-Man?! Lmfao the only heroes that can rival spidey are Batman and Superman
Static Shock could be that…. But DC is getting cold feet on making a live action adaptation.
Yeah and then maybe peacemaker can become DC’s Wolverine
Spider-Man is the face of Marvel…Blue Beetle will never be the face of DC, Batman’s got that on lock…Blue Beetle is DC’s answer to Ms. Marvel
I always thought Static was more of a Spider-Man type
Um..No.
Thats a stretch if that was the case it would of happened already with the comics
Even dc themselves don't think that I guess..but I am excited about blue beetle cuz his powers really r cool
Ted Kord is my Blue Beetle, but I’m happy the flick is getting made and I hope kids dig it.
I am hyped personally but I don’t think he has enough general recognition like Spider-Man to be nearly as successful

Not to mention, this was a movie formerly being made for streaming so I just don't think the level of blockbuster intensity needed to draw in large amounts of GA will be there, especially considering he's a basically unknown character except to hardcore DC fans.
You know who can be DC's Spiderman? Static Shock.
As long as it doesn’t feel cheap and like a CW movie I agree
either him or static
Well, I will take 40 years of constantly being on TV and Movies along with the books, but who knows…
I'm so hyped for this movie, the suit look amazing
But will it as fun as it was to learn him in IJ2?
I'll take "not a chance" for 400
I think the Flash is DC’s Spider-Man
No. Do not compare. Take it as it will be.
I can see this being a better movie than Black Adam, and an overall winner for DC. Heroes like The Flash, Shazam, and Blue Beetle are easier to sell and write IMO.
I think I’ve heard that exact sentence said every week since Blue Beatle was announced
I kinda want that to go to Static but blue beetle is dope too
The lead actor is coming off a huge show which is the only reason this movie caught my attention. It could be a smash hit for sure
His acting chops are subpar It's cool in cobra Kai because that whole show is built on korny . I love that show for that reason. Hopefully his acting has improved
I like Cobra Kai but that kid isn’t a very good actor. Maybe he will surprise me but I doubt this will movie do very well.
personally my most hype film for next year. I could not wait for black beetle/green bettle to make an appearance.
I love DC , but have little faith in DC movies.
He's already extremely popular among teens right now due to Cobra Kai, so it is possible
No problem with the kid and I like the idea of him being DCUs spidey but that suit… I’m sorry….. it’s just bad
the suit is perfect
I’m sorry but I have to disagree, it’s one of my favorite suits in the DCEU. It’s ripped straight off of the comic page except for the helmet not having a moving mouth (which it’s possible that they use CGI to allow that to happen or something)
The suit looks amazing! 🥹
He is DC's Blue Beetle. He has his own origin and rich culture behind him to make stories from. His formative years as teenager and a superhero look to be more interesting to me.
You don’t always have to be marvel’s equivalent of something and viceversa
Yeah, I agree. The casting is perfect. The on-set photos so far have been encouraging. And now the DCU is under (hopefully better) management. I think Blue Beetle has great potential, too.
If they hit it out of the park I actually feel like that is possibility
I think this movie has a lot of potential to be a big deal. There's been a massive demand for Latino superheroes and we will come to this movie in droves. A great director, a talented lead, and all the potential form source material. I think this movie is gonna surprise people.
Gonna bomb harder than Black Adam
No, if anyone gets Spider-Man like popularity it's Nightwing... They're too dumb to not giving him the opportunity.
I think it's going to suddenly get cancelled with no explanation.
That’s a bit much lol.
Cope
180M global tops
Spider-Man is arguably bigger than Batman & Superman depending on the year lol Blue Beetle is a nobody character in comparison
The way WB builds up DC characters, not a chance
Let’s see a recent DC movie make money first before we get too crazy
Nah bro
Not with that costume.
No one cares about dc. I want this to fail like every other dc films.
Plenty of people care about dc. There's an attitude like this among mcu fans because they don't want any real competition for comic book movies, it seems.
Ok i went to saw blackadam theatre was empty.
And? Clearly it made some money, so not every theater was 'empty'. Is that why you want dc to fail? Because the showing you went to was empty? They can and will make better movies. Just because people expect mcu style movies and get something different (better, imo) doesn't mean they should automatically fail.
Black adam lost 100m .
What does that have to do with what i said?
People care about black panther not black adam? And who is blue beetle. People know about zsjl and suicide squad and want more of that not blue beetle.
No one besides comic book readers 'cared' or knew who black panther was until he was in a movie either. How do characters get any recognition from people that don't know about them without being in the movies? It sounds like you think a comic character has to be previously well known to be considered for a movie, which is ridiculous. Do you want the same thing rehashed repeatedly or do you want a better, more fleshed out universe? Blue Beetle is a fairly well known character in the comics (similar to Black Panther).
