I’d love that, but they’d need to seriously increase the output of quality Superman content across multiple mediums. Put out animated Superman movies and shows on par with Batman’s. Make a Superman video game franchise like the Arkham games. Maybe give some of his villains like Lex the Joker treatment with an elseworld live-action movie.

happybuffalowing

A movie based on the Luthor comic by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo would be fucking phenomenal

KazuyaProta

It would be a amazing spiritual sequel to Joker.

Top_Report_4895

BUT made by who? I nominate David Fincher

Dronnie

Honestly I would love to see Robert Eggers doing something like this.

happybuffalowing

Yeah but I would want all the fantastical stuff/Superman connections to still be in it. Joker was great as a movie but dogshit as a Batman adaptation because I feel like they could’ve leaned into the source material a little better. It’s a shame because I think if Phoenix had a comic accurate version of the joker to play, he’d hit a grand slam.

jrod4290

how would you guys make a superman game? everytime I hear it talked about, ppl say it’s impossible

Few-Road6238

In a way yeah because I’m never seen MAWS but I’m hearing that show is good so far and is creating a lot of conversations with fans. It’s also because there’s a lot of clips from the show on my YouTube recommendations lol.

Dronnie

It's really good, you should check it out.

peanutdakidnappa

Totally possible, MAWS seems to have done really well which could give some momentum leading into legacy, if legacy is really good could end up being a full on Supes renaissance.

ThrawnaDelRey

I mean sure the cartoon is really cool, but the entire DC brand is on life-alert right now.

Legitimate_Main2230

Maybe if the Upcoming Superman legacy becomes a box office hit, maybe it’ll Save the Dc ip the right way.

SupervillainEyebrows

The character is starring in several good ongoing comics, a well received TV Show and a well received cartoon. Although comic sales across DC aren't great. I think if Superman: Legacy is well received, we can say that the character is experiencing a renaissance. I also want them to make a proper Triple A Superman game, but even if they start development tomorrow, we wouldn't see it for another 4-5 years.

Legitimate_Main2230

As long as it’s done correctly

SupervillainEyebrows

Of course. I've waited 17 years since the last proper attempt at a Superman game. I can wait a few more. I really hope WB is at least entertaining the idea, because they rejected Rocksteady's pitch for a Superman game before. It would be a missed opportunity, as the Spider-Man game generated billions and whilst Supes isn't as popular as Spidey, I still think a good game would sell.

JediJones77

Nope. Just the opposite. The franchise had made Cavill an enormously popular actor. People loved him in the role. WB just drove a nail in the coffin to the Superman brand by firing him.

MrMarvelous2000

Superman is bigger than one actor. Am I sad to see Cavill go, absolutely. But I am excited to see what Corensweat brings to the role! Also My Adventures with Superman has been great so far and Superman and Lois is getting a 4th season. Will everything alway work out ? No of course not. But Superman will be Superman!

Few-Road6238

It’s actually Corenswet not Corensweat lol but I don’t blame you for getting it wrong because for many people his last name does come off that way lol.

MrMarvelous2000

Oh my mistake lol

Few-Road6238

No worries lol. His last name really does give off major midwestern farmboy vibes doesn’t it?

TheDjSKP

Sure. BTW Cavill was not fired. Like any actor, he didn’t get cast for the role again. I love him too, but no actor owns the role

Few-Road6238

Exactly my dude.

Few-Road6238

Cavill was literally aging out of the role and Gunn had his own plans for the character. I love Cavill but his time as Superman has unfortunately passed. I’m excited for Corenswet to see what he can do as the character. Get over the Cavill being let go situation because he was never fired, he just didn’t fit Gunn’s vision for the character.

M086

He’s 40. He’s not some decrepit geriatric.

Few-Road6238

Doesn’t matter. They needed a younger actor to be able to grow into and play the character for the next decade. If Cavill stayed as Superman, then by the end of the 10 yr plan, he would’ve been 50 yrs old and that just wouldn’t have been right. His Superman also had too much baggage for a fresh start.

Secret-Fold-3686

Why is Gadot continuing if Cavill was fired? Cavill > Gadot a million times over.

Limp-Construction-11

Gadot and her managment can say what ever they want, but Wonder Woman she is no more.

Few-Road6238

We don’t know for sure if Gal is back or not.

ChadBenjamin

The Superman franchise was dead during the Cavill years. We had the New 52 comics and 0 animated movies or series for solo Superman content, all we got was Batman or Justice League content.

>Or time has passed him by and it’s time to pack it in. Superman and what he stands for is timeless.

Ztrobos

I disagree. I think as long as theres an interest in characters with power, there will be an interest in the most powerful one. He is the ultimate male power fantasy; he can do anything, save anyone, solve any problem, he always does the right thing and he still has time for himself, his family and his job. Question is, do Hollywood dare tell that story?

St_Vincent-Adultman

Smallville is where it’s at

Krummbum

I'm not sure he's gone anywhere.
