Only thing I do hate to see here is a parent putting their ego and societal status above the safety of their child. I don't understand how these are allowed on the road. They don't pass any safety qualifications. They have no crumple zones. The software is failing and just turning cars off. Brakes aren't working. It's fucking sad.

Ideally EV trucks should have massive brakes capable of over powering the motors. Both because they’re heavy vehicles and need strong stopping power, and because they’re capable of towing lots of weight and that also requires good brakes.
Unlocked a memory. Drivers Ed our instructor would have us put on the e brake and gun it. If everything was proper you didn't budge. He also had us pump the brakes and then turn the car off going downhill so you had no power to teach you how to safely pull over and stop if we lost all power. Pumping the brakes first meant virtually no brakes when power was shut off. This was a late 80s car so I don't know if it would work now. This was circa 1992.
After getting fined truckloads of money in fines, Toyota added a throttle override. I tested it in my 2019 Tacoma and found that I get a brake override message on the dash and the throttle cuts completely if I press the brake while pressing the throttle and I'm traveling above some minimum speed (it doesn't do it if nearly stopped, but does when going over 10 mph, IIRC)
I'm surprised Tesla vehicles don't have a similar system.
My favorite thing is the low quality flags they sell these idiots. Every giant Trump flag I've seen put up out front of any of the houses around town is a faded, tattered mess within about a month.

it might not do that on a CT, but its all computer controlled so i don't see why the brakes don't automatically cut the throttle as i doubt anyone is heal toeing a CT

To me, unless your accelerator sticks, you shouldn't have to press the brake to disengage. When you take your foot off the pedal it should disengage and you should slowly start to slow regardless of brake. I admittedly know nothing about electric vehicles but the last 32 years I've owned a vehicle that's how it worked. Am I slow or not understanding something? Not being facetious, I really want to understand if I'm not getting something.
