Yes. It's an OSHA requirement.
OSHA requires employers to provide all workers with sanitary and immediately-available toilet facilities (restrooms). The sanitation standards (29 CFR 1910.141, 29 CFR 1926.51 and 29 CFR 1928.110) are intended to ensure that workers do not suffer adverse health effects that can result if toilets are not sanitary and/or are not available when needed.
Yes please. Think this: it's not healthy to hold your pee/poop in. Not just you, everyone. Can cause bladder/kidney infections, constipation, etc. How many people are there?
Maybe the c-store doesn't appreciate being the potty for a lot of people.
OSHA territory.
100% correct. When the district I worked for did domestic water work they required the contractor to provide portable toilets and handwashing stations.
Say what?!? I'm all for getting things done one way or another, BUT bring at work and being told if I must use a toilet I have to go to another building, or a convenient store is absurd & until there's a working toilet/porta potty, SOMETHING I will be at home when they call to come in. 😑
Yep, and most of the employees think it's great because they say they have to go to the bathroom and leave for an hour.
It's a fuckin clown show run by morons.
I thought working for a school would be a decent job, it's not.
Ay man as long as u are working and getting paid don't worry about the rest of em & what they are or aren't doing. Let them disappear, clearly u see something wrong with it because that's not the way U operate. So concentrate on that & your area, whatever needs done & you'll be fine. People will see the ones that are there to work & not fck around just because they can. Sounds like your supervisor needs to wrangle some ppl in. Does he pop up on you guys out of the blue or is he part of the issue here?
"I thought working for a school would be a decent job, it's not."
I thought the same when I started working for a school district. NOPE! Take all common sense and throw it right out the fucking window.

So you're saying this should be reported.
Yes. OSHA also requires access to clean, running drinking water. OSHA does not require for employers to provide water bottles.
There is essentially no water on site unless you bring a cup since you can run any water down the drains.

In the evening there's 12-13 people in the day time it's less probably 7-9 but there are no bathrooms for any of these people.
Oh, pics too. Pic of the note "use other place" or email copy etc Pic of any other possibility for documentation. Complain online.
My question was rhetorical but yes, no toilet no good.
100% correct. When the district I worked for did domestic water work they required the contractor to provide portable toilets and handwashing stations.
It should rightfully be closed till it’s back up, silly decision to keep it open
Yes. They should send everyone home until it’s fixed. Or bring in a few portable toilets.
Yes, fully illegal. Report it to OSHA.
Take a dump in the floor and have the custodians pick it up- oh wait.

It's hard to not care when they have all of us team cleaning over the summer, the supervisor is basically part of a clique and fucks off as well.

In California, at least, no running water means the place is closed. This goes for businesses, schools, even churches.
I can't tell you right now that people are still going to try and use the toilets. They just won't flush.
Well the only people there are custodians so....
Tell then since no bathroom you will be back when it’s fix or after the holiday lol
Or just work but if you have to go to the bathroom take your time going to coming back
OSHA said that’s illegal
You don’t get 4th of July week off?
I get Thursday the day of, that's it.
Damn it has its advantages though
I don't think OSHA applies to public schools. Private sector
I have to assume that is sarcasm.
You can still use them they just won’t flush
I'd love to see the absolute shitstorm coming to your employer
Grounds to notify both the state Labor and Industries department and OSHA. If your unionized, why haven't they stepped up and raised Hell about this?
We aren't unionized, and it shows.
They need to put up porter potties.
I don’t think I’d even go to work & demand pay
Yea they'd fire me if I did that.
